I hate to give this place any stars!! My son was here recently and I could ve taken better care him than this place. The DOCTOR really don t care to hear the patient out or the family out. I notified them that my son can t swallow pills and he Dr. Abraham continue to try to make him. With that being said my son was here for 7 days without meds. He never once talked to my son. He was over a hour and a half away from us in McKinney. They need to tear this place down. I truly don t have anything good to say except The Young guy Elliot help me when I couldn t reach nobody. He left messages with the night supervisor and She got back to me. He definitely can use a raise. I made sure I went to shake his hand when I went for visitation. I felt like I was going to a jail to visit verse a hospital. If your love one NEEDS REAL HELP go elsewhere not this filthy, understaff and rude place.

Accepted Insurance

Millwood Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
After completing some form of inpatient care, many clients transition or step down to an outpatient rehab, while some choose to transition from detox directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education, and some also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding family dynamic within the family unit. Therapists help individual members to identify and change harmful behavior patterns and improve communication. This provides a stable foundation for the family and their loved one's recovery.

Wow... This place is sooooo traumatizing. But at least they put me on some meds to get me straightened out. Ms. Maxine was amazing and truly has the most kind heart! If it weren't for her I don't think I could have made it 11 days in here.

It looks like a prison on the outside. Inside its straight out of One Flew Over the Cokoos Nest. We were sent from our county because they were ready for me. So we arrive and the lobby is loud and overstimulating with 2 TVs playing different things. We waited over an hour in this obnoxious lobby. Finally, we're taken back to an assessment room where the nice guy said it would be another 30 minutes to an hour for assessment. He left. Then began 6 hours of pure hell. Waiting in that small, cold room. No phones. Nobody ever came to check on us. The guy in the room next to ours was on a stretcher, tied down. But left alone in his room. Finally, my mother flagged someone down. And said we wanted to leave. They had to involve the police to let me leave before I was even admitted. They let me leave finally. But this place was NOT safe, and not conducive to my mental health. I am glad I made the choice to leave before I was stuck there. I will seek help elsewhere.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Everyone warning you about this place is absolutely right — the nurses yell throughout the night, slam doors, and show zero regard for patient well-being. Group time is more about letting patients pick music to play instead of getting real help. The doctors spent maybe 10 min with me, declared me mentally ill then attempted to prescribe heavy sedatives just one day before I was scheduled to meet with my attorney, and they even filed what appear to be fraudulent documents with the court. To top it all off, I was sent home with two patient files that included personal, confidential information — a massive HIPAA violation. If you or a loved one is seeking genuine care or support, this is NOT the place to go. What happened here was not only unethical — it was dangerous.

Maxine, Leah, Stephen, and some of the night techs were amazing. The overall bureaucratic system was pretty sucky though, 3/5.

This place almost killed me. I told them I was aligence to something and force me take it. Staff made fun of me for my disability. I felt more suicidal here then ever before. Don't send love ones here.
