About Pearl Health Clinic – Ammon

Pearl Health Clinic, a mental health and addictions service center located in Ammon, Idaho, gives their clients plenty of resources to grow and learn how to cope with sobriety or their mental illness. They help people of all ages and even treat dual diagnosis conditions, which are more common than you might think. They offer services at the outpatient level of care, giving you the freedom to return home after sessions.

Medication Assisted Treatment in Suburban Idaho Falls

Some of the medical services here include psychiatry, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and Suboxone treatment for medication assisted treatment.

When it comes to counseling, they offer individual therapy, couples counseling, and family therapy. These can all be a great support system while you navigate sobriety and plan for your future.

They also offer some really interesting psychology services that stood out to me. These include neuropsychological and psychological testing. What they do here is assess children, adolescents, adults, and seniors in order to diagnose and understand any cognitive or psychological conditions that may be hindering their growth.

I also really like that they have community programs as well. They have community-based rehabilitation services, which focus on enhancing your quality of life if you have a severe mental health condition. They also have case management to help you access resources and coordinate everything around your life, making things easier while you recover. They also offer telehealth services and Genoa Pharmacy. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed by their selection of offerings, considering it’s only an outpatient clinic.

I love my counselor however Pearl Health is more concerned about getting their money than they are about keeping someone from going into a major episode. Disgusted. Set up for failure.

We feel scammed by Pearl Health. Took our child who was already diagnosed with ADHD before we moved to get a different medication. The doctor asked questions off a checklist then confirmed the diagnosis and prescribed a medication but forgot to send it to the pharmacy. We left messages but they never sent it in. Then we get a bill for $450 for absolutely nothing. Completely ridiculous. We tried to call and work with them and they were not willing to help or understand in any way. Stay far away from Pearl.

My counselor was amazing and was truly helping me however pearl health in a whole is a joke. I had to cancel and appointment unexpectedly because my co worker had a personal matter had to leave work I could not leave work to make it to my appointment called immediately to inform them. They say that was a no show. So doesn t matter if you could get in trouble with your work or have an emergency come up and cancel they will still charge you. But I have sat in the waiting area for over 30 minutes waiting to be asked to give my appointment up for a crisis appointment and I did. Another time I waited for almost my entire session because my counselor did not see me sitting in the waiting area. It is a joke to not be understanding when someone else is having a moment of crisis and can t make it in. But you should wait half your lunch break to then be asked to give up the appointment. That is poor business to me.

Accepted Insurance

Pearl Health Clinic – Ammon works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

We've been taking my daughter to Pearl for years. We needed a formal diagnosis for her and because of her age her pediatrician referred to Pearl to be seen by their child psychologist. So we did, got the formal diagnosis and were told that Pearl would have to prescribe and manage her care with the medications. So we've been working with them until recently. I've finally had enough! Her provider was nice enough but we could never get her meds filled on time. In the beginning it was a little late here and there. A handful of times we didn't have any problems. Then this year her meds were consistently 1-2 weeks past due each time for her refills. It didn't matter how many messages I left or if the pharmacy reached out, it fell in deaf ears. No one was even willing to get back with us at all. My husband had to physically go in to their office to talk to someone and force them to put the order in. So we asked her pediatrician to take over for us just so we could receive these meds properly. He agreed as long as he could have them release their records so he was up to date. Guess what? I signed a consent form for that information to be given to her doctor with literally 6 requests to send it to him so he could treat my daughter. Her pediatrician's office have sent just as many urgent requests for those notes, even basically begged for just a med list from them. Again nothing!!!! It's been a month with no contact from them. Thankfully her doctor went ahead and helped us and she got those meds without any problem through him. I really feel like we've way overpaid Pearl through the years for little to no service and now they're giving us and her doctor a last and final "F" you with fish hooks! Their offices can go ahead and ignore me and my husband. Hopefully they won't continue to ignore their piss poor reviews and I've helped educate someone else into finding a real professional provider and saving them from the mistake of Pearl!

1/24/25Why does that not surprise me! Made an appt 2 days ago with a doctor that Degnay recommended and now they are already needing to cancel it, first call at 1143am for one kid. Go figure! 12:25pm calling now to cancel the 2nd kid. Why you must ask? Because Miller doesn't see new patients after 4pm.7/28/24The situation is absurd! I picked up my daughter's anxiety medication from Walmart, but the dose was much lower. I called Walmart and spoke to Brian, who said they had confirmed the dosage with Pearl Health. My daughter has been on a higher dose since January 2024, so I don't understand why they would drop the dose to almost nothing when it doesn't help her. Her appointment with Degnay was on the 26th, and we only added a different medication to her regimen; we didn't change her dosage.6/28/24Let's get one thing straight I AM NOT UPSET WITH THE DR. I understand he isn't feeling well. I am utterly disappointed in the fact yall dont have a backup plan. Their response "oh well we usually just reschedule we can see you on august 2nd." Like WTF will that do to help me? My daughter is having issues with her meds and we need a game plan TODAY not 3 weeks before school starts.4/26/24Where to begin....appt was at 330pm. There was 2 ladies in front of us that their appt was at 230pm. Anyways they came out of degnays office at 535pm. Cool thinking we are next because we were the ONLY ones in DEGANYS DESIGNATED WAITING ROOM. 555pm we are still wantin....there is an older gentleman that came to thr brown couch at 530pm ish and then all of a sudden he got called into degnays office at 6pm. Called the main office no answer. Called again and clicked medical, degnays nurse answered....claims the man on the brown couch checked in at 3pm and had been sitting on the brown couch for a long time.10/27/21Beyond ridiculous yet again we have to cancel my son's appointments for the next couple months and there's no one else to see him.1/7/21 called asking for his meds to be sent over to walmart. Got called today 1/8/21 saying the prescription paper was ready for pickup. I've never had to pick up a script for this medication degnay has always just sent it to walmart for me.Forced to do telehealth 5/26/20Soooo stupid! I was forced to do this and guess what the doctor is still 2 hours behind before he even gets to my sons appt....So what I am suppose to do just sit here for 2 hours and wait?!Y'all coming to cook my dinner, take care of my kids, do laundry....???????!!!!!January 15th 2020. I have no idea who my sons caseworker is since they changed him to her like 6 months ago. His cbrs/respite worker is always shorting him on his time, shes always late and then when she doesnt finally pick him up shes like okay buddy we have 45 mins which is no time for to do anything.I have been waiting since may 1st 2019 For a certain doctor to call me with results for my son's testing I have not heard anything I called to day asking to speak with him and the sooner they can get my son in to go over his testing is June 3rd 2019 tell me how tht's going to work because the school needs all his diagnosed papers before school gets out on May 31st. So my poor child has to go Another 2 and a 1/2 weeks with meds that are not doing him any good.August 24th 2018. Arrived for my sons 330PM APPT, we get called back at 440p appt lasted 12 mins. If you know certain doctors take 2 hours for patients why in god's name would you scheduled clients every 30-45 mins for certain doctors. It makes no sense. I have a life to and I WILL not stop planning my life just bc they don't know how to schedule right.Hmmm same issue as today 8/14/18. I've tried calling them friday(they say they opened until 630) but yet turn phones off at 5pm. Saturday they claim to be opened 8-2 but yet phones are off all day..

Great professional staff. All my counselors would tell me when a month’s schedule had opened. I would schedule that day, and had zero problems. Every single one of my counselors have been so helpful and life changing. I’ve been going here for 8 years.

The women at the front desk are great and were always professional and kind with me. We struggled with my daughter’s counselor however. She was pretty consistently 10-15 minutes late coming to get my daughter for her appointment, she tried to say we missed too many appointments and move my daughter to once a month, and then had cancelled a couple appointments last minute without anyone telling us so we still showed up to the office. We then just came in for an appointment to find out that she just cancelled the rest of my daughter appointments without telling us or giving any reason why. My daughter was super confused as to why she wouldn’t be seeing her counselor and now we have to go looking for another counselor. Super frustrated with how everything went down.
