Let’s be clear the staff here 10/10. Wish they could do primary care. Dr Wong AMAZING bedside manner! Martha Lee and the other nurses.. Unmatched energy at 3,5 5am. Without the love from triage to check out . And the wait was not bad at all! Would’ve been out even sooner if my granddaughter’s IV was able to move any faster that was really the only thing that we made it a little longer than it was, but that was not on the fault of the hospital Best Emergency Room visit in awhile (considering!) . Glad we took the extra miles to come here.

If I could I WOULDN’T give them a start!! I took my 11yr old son yesterday with a broken hand. As we arrive the welcoming was not pleasant at all. Took is in to get my son basic information and explained to the nurse what happened. My son told the nurse he had a pain of a 9 when 10 is the worse, took for ever to ask simple questions and the ask us to wait in the lobby. Seen my son in so much pain my husband went and ask the nurse if they could at least give him pain medicine and she told them that he had to wait until he was seen by a doctor, so we ask how long for that and she was like we don’t have any rooms and we have people that have arrived in ambulances and they are priority and that it may be more than an hr for him to get treated. All this with a ATTITUDE. We decided to take my son to UNC Hospital (best thing we could have done ). He was admitted quick and got his pain under control. We where ask what happened and told the Doctor what we had experienced and he told us that the Nurse should had contact a doctor and explain the situation and the doctor could had sent consent to the nurse to give pain medicine to my son.

Accepted Insurance

Cone Health Alamance Regional works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Often used as a "step-down" option after you've completed a residential or inpatient program, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) typically involves a minimum of 20 hours of treatment per week for approximately 90 days. Programs offer structured programming that includes relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. Insurance coverage for PHP treatment varies among insurance providers.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Individuals in early recovery often require 24-hour clinical care in North Carolina. This supervised care typically includes medications to treat specific withdrawal symptoms, which vary based on the substance abused. For example, staff may provide sleep aids to treat insomnia in patients who are addicted to marijuana. For those overcoming a cocaine use disorder, anti-depressants may be prescribed to manage mood swings. Other medications may also be provided to treat addiction-related health issues.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

There are many types of drug rehab in North Carolina. To receive treatment for addiction, you can choose from many inpatient and outpatient programs. Often, participants start with detox and work through a full continuum of care that continues with ongoing support for long-term recovery.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

North Carolina offers substance abuse treatment programs that provide a holistic and evidence-based approach. Through a comprehensive mental health assessment, addiction experts can provide an individualized care plan specific to your needs. You can expect most rehabs programs to provide individual and group therapy, recovery meetings, and evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Depending on your circumstances and severity of addiction, you may need more intensive care. Levels of care include outpatient, residential inpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization. By choosing the right level of care, you're more likely to succeed in long-term recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Clients who receive cognitive behavioral therapy in North Carolina typically attend five to 20 sessions. During this time, they work with their therapist to learn healthier patterns of thinking, which can help them change their behavior related to substance use.

Counseling that applies dialectical behavior therapy teaches you coping skills to apply to your daily life. The focus is on intense emotions and developing coping mechanisms to manage them. Therapy sessions are a series of teaching lessons that help you develop these coping skills.

My mom was actively bleeding and they were in no rush. I know everyone thinks their visit is more important than everyone else’s, but this is not that. I believe in waiting, that means you’re one of the lucky ones. But we should consider airway, breathing, and circulation. We were seated with an atrusion of the finger from a mower. A pregnant patient came in second, she was triaged first. I get it she was going up to L&D directly but her ABCs were intact, my mothers were not. Then the triage nurse began joking with the security guard about having the winning lotto ticket. I get it, you have to make work a little fun to get through, but having an emergency is not a patients everyday life. First things first, triage - make sure my moms hand can be saved before normal joking and lolly gagging.

Zero stars if I could. My daughter gave birth here and immediately had classic symptoms of a spinal leak from her epidural—severe headache and back pain. Staff brushed it off, saying it would go away. The next day, an anesthesiologist admitted it was probably a spinal leak but told her to “lay flat and wait,” and to call a separate pain clinic for a blood patch because the hospital doesn’t do them anymore. She left after three days, still in severe pain, unable to care for herself or her newborn, and with no real treatment. The lack of urgency, poor communication, and refusal to treat are unacceptable. Avoid this place.

Kernodle clinic that is located in this hospital is amazing with great doctors, highly recommend the KC area & Labor and delivery floor is also AMAZING! But - ARMC its self is probably one of the WORST hospitals if you are dying you will have better luck taking the risk driving to Greensboro instead of this ER. the medical mall security & nurses are A JOKE! They really just hire anyone. Nurses never have any answers and act like you’re an inconvenience. If you hate people you probably shouldn’t be a nurse!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I honestly call this place Last Chance Alamance because that’s exactly what it feels like , a last, miserable option when there’s nowhere else to go. The staff here clearly DO NOT care. My family member recently came here for help and was treated like they didn’t matter. They were there for five days, only allowed to bathe once, never given a proper room, and didn’t receive any kind of real treatment until day four. That’s unacceptable on every level. One of the worst parts? A woman named Angela, who claimed to be the head nurse , with dirty blonde, shoulder-length hair. She made it painfully clear that seeing someone of my race disgusted her. You could hear it in her tone, see it in her attitude, facial expressions and feel it in every interaction. She spoke down to us, avoided answering basic questions, and acted like we didn’t deserve respect. If someone is carrying that much prejudice and bitterness, they have no business working in healthcare, period! And the kicker? She even admitted how awful the place is. Her own words: “Yeah, the place is ridiculous.” So not only do they mistreat people, but even the staff know it’s a mess and do absolutely nothing to fix it. And this wasn’t just a one-time thing. When my aunt was admitted there, the nurses didn’t even want to bathe her. I had to get off work, come up there myself, ask them for towels and bath cloths, and bring my own soap just so she could get clean. The nurses and CNAs walked in and out of the room without once asking if we needed help. But the moment she was finally clean, one of them had the nerve to say, “Oh, she smells good now.” As if that wasn’t insulting enough, they wouldn’t even dispose of the used rags properly. Instead, I was told to walk down the hall and do it myself — like I was the one on staff. Healthcare should be about compassion, dignity, and care, none of which were found here. This place failed us completely. Shame on this facility and everyone who lets this behavior continue. I will be contacting Fox 2 news, in hopes they will do a segment or even possible have someone come in for "treatment," of something just to be a witness of how they treat people. You always have to be careful and mindful of how you treat others. This whole place needs to be shut down. And for someone to respond saying to call to discuss their issues, it’s no way changes were made after speaking to someone with so many recent and negative reviews continuing to happen.

Response from the owner

If ARMC is going to aid local law enforcement in the trafficking of Trans victims, maybe have a modicum of professionalism. Like instead of telling the mother of the victim that BPD brought in (& NOT BY AMBULANCE) their trans 19yo child that has been missing for almost 2 months with their wrists slit & reeking of alcohol that, "I'm done with this conversation," maybe consider how many years in prison 1 gets for a hate crime & trafficking a trans 19yo to aid in further abusing an innocent family. Like Sept 17,2024 when 3 BPD officers "found" that same person on the side of the road w/their pants down, unconscious, & a boot print on their chest w/the grass stain where they were handcuffed & dragged across the grass (which was why y'all kept her close in the Spring of 2025 when they "overdosed" at ACC) which BPD refused to investigate & when they FINALLY let the ambulance leave after forcing me to come their so the abuser could watch thru BPD's BWC in real time, ARMC literally did nothing. As in I have the blank discharge papers. Also, for Ms. "I'm done with this conversation," aka the white female with the single arm sleeve tat & brown hair holding court along w/the other 3 females at the ER reception desk beside the gentleman of color actually working, please educate her & the recrptionist about visitation pertaining to/on what NC General Statute 122C-212(b) actually is. Even trafficking victims that you've allowed law enforcement to drag into the hospital so as to distract the family from filing a federal civil rights & RICO lawsuit deserves visitation without a security guard AND a receptionist to relay every word said &/or end the visit when it's achieved the desired effect. Please be sure to copy this review before deleting it as you'll be seeing it again in court.
