Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

During rehab in Georgia, you may engage in motivational interviewing. This typically lasts one to two sessions and is designed to address any ambivalence you have toward change. It helps you explore your current situation and motivations and commit to making changes for the future.

My husband and I went to couples therapy with Rebecca Morris at Darcy Black and Associates, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing and upsetting. From the very beginning, I felt dismissed, belittled, and even judged. Rather than helping us work through our issues as a team, which is the core purpose of couples therapy, Rebecca Morris seemed to drive a wedge between us. She made several comments that felt deeply inappropriate and even misogynistic—at one point telling me that my husband’s actions were “none of my business,” despite us being there to discuss our relationship openly. When I brought up how my family shares locations as a sign of trust and safety, she dismissed it as “not normal” and compared it to the 1970s, which felt out of touch and unnecessarily judgmental. Throughout our sessions, she was condescending and often treated me like I was unintelligent. She would shake her head and grin when I spoke, clearly frustrated, which made me feel small and unheard. Therapy should be a safe space, but instead, I left feeling more hurt and confused than when we started. I would not recommend Rebecca Morris to anyone seeking compassionate, unbiased, and constructive therapy.

If i could give no stars i would normally, you are giving a call to confirm an appointment I was given a call, but no one asked me or told me if I wanted to confirm the appointment that due to my son not having regular insurance anymore that I will have to pay out-of-pocket. My son is on Medicaid. Nobody said anything to me the day of his appointment. I signed him in. No one still said anything to me prior to him being seen that there would be a balance I receive a letter in the mail that there was a balance That needed to be paid because they no longer offer Medicaid so I got upset because why when y’all confirm the appointment y’all never brought that up because I would’ve canceled the appointment. Why when I go there that day y’all didn’t say anything to me when I signed him in and now y’all want money because y’all don’t accept Medicaid they money hungry

Absolute garbage. Was told that someone shouldn’t report a sexual abuse claim because it’s gonna cost a lot of money to get them to show up to court. The therapist also stated that if not given a heads up about what’s happened because she didn’t want to get overwhelmed. Stated the fees had to be paid in cash per her boss. Also has taken over a month to get medical record's. She sits behind a computer and chooses to not be a victim advocate. She stated that we would be charged if she had to come to court. Rebeca morris is not a victim advocate. She is spreading false information about how her company operates. She is an absolute joke at her profession if she can’t get from behind a computer and do her job. You don’t get to do a piss poor job and have no knowledge of how medical law works and get away with it. I will proceed to make sure that it gets known by all the news agency’s in the area and I will not stop until she is held accountable for not doing her job. She stated my girlfriend would be charged for every patient she does not get to see if she is subpoenaed to court to be a witness and her boss only takes cash for those charges. They want in cash because it’s not taxed and that the way they charge is illegal. It’s an absolute joke. Rebecca morris should loose her license by trying to intimidate someone into not making a report. It’s absolutely garbage. She is supposed to be unbiased, but instead she is incompetent, unorganized, and honestly just downright lazy. I hope nothing but the worse for her and the firm she represents so poorly by not wanting to do her job.

Frustrating amounts of responses needed and if you don’t reply in time they cancel your appointment. Requires response to confirm appointments or they will be canceled. Issues with Telehealth appointment communication…if you miss it because the app is unable to connect you still have to pay…even if you call and no alternative is given upon calling. Not a good first impression. Will NOT recommend. Will not get my business.

Very frustrated with this company. Almost two weeks ago I made an appointment with this clinic. I am going through a life changing event and desperately need help. I am out of state and I asked if that was okay, the person who set up my appointment said that was okay. This morning I sat on my telehealth video call for 15 minutes waiting for the clinician. Never showed up. I then called the front desk and they said my appointment was cancelled because I didn't fill out the paperwork. I did and said that, and then she back tracked and saw that I did fill out the paperwork on the 15th. Then she said it was because I didn't confirm it, I did and said that. She said, oh yeah you did. THEN, she said it was because I was out of state. I did not get a cancelation email, a call, anything. This would have been my first appointment. I feel as if this was very unprofessional and rude to let someone that's going through a hard time to sit and wait for an appointment that's not going to happen. Don't book here.
