I cut my finger and went to the emergency room for stitches. The nurses told me to come back to have stitches removed. They told me it was all one incident and that I would NOT BE CHARGED FOR THE RETURN VISIT!! Long story short … they charged me 3 times!!!!! My insurance company paid over $4000 for 3 stitches of which only one stitch held. I was charged $600+ for my 3 visits. Every time I asked the emergency people in this still on the one incident and no charge. Well I finally got someone to call me. 5 months later. He told me that they would charge and gave me 25% off the bill. I will never go back to that hospital. I feel that they committed fraud by telling me a lie. Obviously. The management thinks it’s ok to lie so they can make more money. I rate this incident as a -10.

Accepted Insurance

Marietta Memorial Hospital – Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

An alcohol use disorder (AUD), also commonly called alcoholism, can range from mild to severe. It involves compulsive consumption of alcohol and maladaptive patterns of drinking that lead to negative physical, social, and relational consequences. Diverse treatment programs are available for people with AUD. Mutual-support groups, medications, and behavioral treatments are provided through alcohol rehab in Ohio. If co-occurring disorders are present, it is important to receive treatment for both disorders.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

The entire staff has been great. Nothing but good positive things to say. I have been treated with compassion and kindness the 8 days I have been in their care. I will never go anywhere else for health care. The problem was identified quick and treatment began immediately. Thank you to the entire staff for the taking such good care of me.

Today I called the gift shop and was refused service. I was informed that they don’t deliver to patients on Sunday. The shop is literally in the same building. Also, they can’t claim that they don’t have enough staff because they were speaking to each other over the phone. Wow - terrible customer service.

Response from the owner
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The gift shop is run by the Marietta Welfare League. The volunteers of the health system help in delivery of flowers to patient rooms and we do not have volunteers on Sundays. If the League Shop has enough staff they do try to assist, but Sundays can be difficult when they are very busy and only two staff members are working. We do want to provide good service, and apologize for this experience.

Terrible wait time, rude doctors/ nurses (not all but enough to be a problem) refusing testing as well as trying to force unneeded CT scans as well as, God forbid if you've every smoked Marijuana because that is the cause of every single medical complication known to man. Fiance had a hiatal hernia and memorial couldn't figure it out for months and refused testing just blaming previous (not even current in the last 2 months) Marijuana use. If you care about yourself or loved ones go anywhere but memorial! They will let you die if it means they get an extra dollar.

Response from the owner

I am beyond grateful to the hospital and everyone there I came into contact with today at the emergency room. I went in with 10/10 pain in my face, jaw, and neck. Backstory: earlier in the week 8/10 pain sent me to a different ER close to my office, where the care was subpar, to say the least, and I didn't receive a diagnosis. The following day I went to my PCP (based on the ER instructions) who sent me to an ENT specialist the following day, again, with no answers other than some antibiotics, a steroid pack, and a follow-up appointment in two weeks. Fast forward three days, the pain had increased to 10/10, and the swelling had become much more pronounced. I decided to go to Marietta Memorial Hospital Emergency Room, which turned out to be the best decision possible. From the moment I walked in, everyone was extremely kind and helpful. My RN, Rebekah, was extraordinarily calming and caring, and Dr. Gonzales came in moments later and was very thorough, thoughtful, and compassionate. She ordered meds and a CT scan, and while on break, Dr. Jarrell came in to follow up with me. Within 30 minutes of arrival, they had my pain under control and my CT completed. Once the CT results came back, BOTH doctors came back in to discuss the problem with me, explained what was wrong, why I was experiencing these symptoms, and had scheduled an appointment for me tomorrow with an oral surgeon. They were both very patient, calming, and keen to answer questions and offer advice. Keep in mind, they accomplished this scheduling feat on a Sunday, with a surgeon whose office was obviously closed. In conclusion, this was the best ER experience I ever recall having in my 43 years. If the need ever comes up for me or any member of my family, rest assured that I will be going to Marietta Memorial ER. A HUGE thank-you to everyone there on staff today. You guys and gals were incredible.

Response from the owner
Thank you for sharing your story. We are glad you were able to get the care you needed, and our team met expectations. Best wishes on your recovery.

BE WARNED!! Absolutely disgusting service from the start unfortunately issues still are not resolved but going to a different hospital. Patient priority is not a concern for them. I have never seen anything like it. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere because if you’re lucky enough you’ll have to anyway. One star is one too many.

Will go to Camden Clark or literally any other hospital after this week. Gave a diagnosis and plan to treat at home. Home treatment wasn't working so went back with worse symptoms still same answer. Went to urgent care for the symptoms and was given a different treatment plan. Felt 10x better in an hour then I have felt all week going by MMH plan. This used to be my go to hospital but they have gone downhill with treatment and some of the staff lack good bedside manner (not all).

Response from the owner
We are proud of the care we deliver our community and when it appears someone has not had an experience they expected, we like to learn more. If you would be interested, please call our service improvement team and we'll be happy to assist. They can be reached at 740-374-1541.
