In any business your communication with your customers (patients in this case) is of the utmost importance. The phone system seems to be set up to only allow you to leave a message and they tell you it could take a couple days (48 hrs) to get back with you. I had a simple question concerning lab work, left 2 messages, 1 with the lab & then after 2 days, 1 with my provider, never heard back. OK then. I'm older and have dealt with many hospitals, and have never experienced anywhere near this level of lack of communication with a medical provider. And please don't leave a reply for me to call your service improvement team. Calling and communicating with you is my complaint.

Staff were fine. Billing was a nightmare. My claim was not run through insurance properly, when I called about my bill they told me to ignore it while they re-ran the claim through insurance. So I did. I called back every couple of weeks, making sure things were on track. I received 3 bills, I called after every one and they continued to tell me it was still pending with insurance and to ignore the bill. Then suddenly I'm being contacted by collections. When I called the hospital, asking why they sent my bill to collections when they're the ones who told me to wait on paying it, I was told that just the hospital policy, any statement open after 90 days is sent to collections. Not once during my previous calls had this been disclosed to me. Now this 'unpaid debt' is on my credit, which has been stellar (Always pay credit card off each month, never late on a payment for anything. Ever.) up until now. I'm in the process of buying a home and this is going to be on my record. Cannot overstate how distressing this process has been and I still don't know what financial damage it could cause to me as I try to obtain a loan. I would advise anyone I knew against going here. Extremely poor and unethical way of handling billing for a hospital that's charging around $1,300 for pretty routine outpatient lab work.

Felt as though they were just trying to run my bill up. Went to emergency room due to a seizure, was admitted wait to be examined by neurologist, after 16 hours finally got the exam. Multiple doctors and nurses told me all my tests came back perfectly fine and was told didn’t need to stay in hospital. Attending physician than stated my pulse was low when admitted to ER, which had not been stated by any of the 8-10 doctors or nurses that had examed me since I had been there, and suddenly wanted a exam, after I had already been there for 16-18 hours, from cardiology who was not available for 3 days. Had to check myself out and was treated rudely after that just handed a piece of paper told sign and told I would have to schedule all of my own follow ups, of which the doctors never put the orders in so cannot schedule, than told to leave.

Accepted Insurance

Marietta Memorial Hospital – Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

An alcohol use disorder (AUD), also commonly called alcoholism, can range from mild to severe. It involves compulsive consumption of alcohol and maladaptive patterns of drinking that lead to negative physical, social, and relational consequences. Diverse treatment programs are available for people with AUD. Mutual-support groups, medications, and behavioral treatments are provided through alcohol rehab in Ohio. If co-occurring disorders are present, it is important to receive treatment for both disorders.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

I have Crohn’s disease, a disability, and am turned away from this hospital because I no called no showed over a year ago when I didn’t have insurance. Except I did call to cancel. Still ruled a no call no show. Now I have nowhere to go. Imagine a disabled person being turned away from a supposed “healthcare provider”. This is the same hospital that lost my mom after a surgery, told me it’s ok to not take my antipsychotic meds over the nurse hotline. This a business, they do not care so long as they make a buck. And before the auto response says they care about the community - I am part of that community and you’re turning me away over a ridiculous policy put in place by some jerk at the top needing a new face lift Filed the EMTALA complaint already.

Response from the owner
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We are currently investigating this and someone will be following up with you shortly. We appreciate the opportunity to review and assist you in this matter.

I cut my finger and went to the emergency room for stitches. The nurses told me to come back to have stitches removed. They told me it was all one incident and that I would NOT BE CHARGED FOR THE RETURN VISIT!! Long story short … they charged me 3 times!!!!! My insurance company paid over $4000 for 3 stitches of which only one stitch held. I was charged $600+ for my 3 visits. Every time I asked the emergency people in this still on the one incident and no charge. Well I finally got someone to call me. 5 months later. He told me that they would charge and gave me 25% off the bill. I will never go back to that hospital. I feel that they committed fraud by telling me a lie. Obviously. The management thinks it’s ok to lie so they can make more money. I rate this incident as a -10.

Response from the owner
We are sorry to hear you were unhappy with the experience and any inconvenience you'd had. We love caring for our community and always like to learn more when people are concerned. It sounds as though we have some education to do with staff, and we'll be sure to evaluate this. Thank you.

The entire staff has been great. Nothing but good positive things to say. I have been treated with compassion and kindness the 8 days I have been in their care. I will never go anywhere else for health care. The problem was identified quick and treatment began immediately. Thank you to the entire staff for the taking such good care of me.

Today I called the gift shop and was refused service. I was informed that they don’t deliver to patients on Sunday. The shop is literally in the same building. Also, they can’t claim that they don’t have enough staff because they were speaking to each other over the phone. Wow - terrible customer service.

Response from the owner
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The gift shop is run by the Marietta Welfare League. The volunteers of the health system help in delivery of flowers to patient rooms and we do not have volunteers on Sundays. If the League Shop has enough staff they do try to assist, but Sundays can be difficult when they are very busy and only two staff members are working. We do want to provide good service, and apologize for this experience.

Terrible wait time, rude doctors/ nurses (not all but enough to be a problem) refusing testing as well as trying to force unneeded CT scans as well as, God forbid if you've every smoked Marijuana because that is the cause of every single medical complication known to man. Fiance had a hiatal hernia and memorial couldn't figure it out for months and refused testing just blaming previous (not even current in the last 2 months) Marijuana use. If you care about yourself or loved ones go anywhere but memorial! They will let you die if it means they get an extra dollar.

Response from the owner
