About New Season Treatment Center – Gastonia

MAT allows clients to use FDA-approved medications over a longer timeframe to manage cravings and reduce the risk of relapse. New Season has methadone, buprenorphine, or Suboxone as options. The long-term goal is for a client to reach stable recovery and taper off the medication support.

Counseling supports MAT by helping clients explore the emotional and mental beliefs that have impacted substance use. They are able to process their emotions with a trained professional, learn new life skills, and develop habits that allow them to live a substance-free lifestyle long term.

New Season–Gastonia Treatment Center accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance plans that might include Cigna, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Amerigroup, Ambetter, United Healthcare, and more. Insurance plans vary, so be sure to verify coverage information and out of network benefits with the insurer.

This place used to be very good to getting help for opioid addiction. The staff use to be very professional and polite. But that’s not the case anymore. Now you can hear done of the staff talking about patients. The receptionist is incompetent (she also likes to talk about others.) A patient seems to have urinary incontinente problems and I’ve seen the receptionist pull out the odor spray every time that person comes in for her dose, that doesn’t look very professional; I consider it disrespectful. One of the counselors also likes to talk about the patients and I’ve heard her before. That’s also disrespectful. She has no right to talk about other’s problems with anyone. If you don’t have anything to do, find something to do, but don’t go to the other staff and talk about what the patients tells you. This place isn’t like used to be. Oh and let’s not forget the one who does the drug test; she’s so lazy that you have to do what she’s supposed to do with the samples (urine) This place can now be compared to the worst treatment center in the Gastonia area.

If you work a full time job, just go to a doctor! They caused me to lose a really good paying job, because instead of just believing I work a full time job, they called my boss to confirm, and because he didn't know I was an addict, I was terminated after the confirmation phone call! Then they cut me down again, because they said I missed another call, yet I had no missed calls or voicemails! So today I go to the door at 7:59 am, they close at 8:00 am! The door was locked and I waited, because again they close at 8:00 am! My counselor comes to the door and says "They're not going to let you dose today, come back Monday I need to talk to you anyway"! So what exactly am I supposed to do for two days while I'm sick as a dog?! This place changes rules as much as they change employees! I said in a previous post that this place saved my life, but lately it has ruined my life! Maintaining sobriety is harder than it has ever been, and I hope they take this review to heart, and stop mistreating their patients!

So there is no wonder this place has a 3.9 rating because their service is terrible and they have the biggest turnover rate when it comes to counselors and staff. I am a patient at this facility and have been for five years and have slowly watched it go downhill ever since they opened up in gastonia. Today was the most horrible service I have ever gotten and was lied to by Michael the so called program director. Up until about a month ago when you checked in online and if you were on hold for something you're Patient I'd number still stayed at the top until you were done with your drug test, assessment or etc, that way if you spend 35 minutes with your counselor they take you off hold and you don't have to go all the way back to the end of the line. Well today when I checked in I spoke with the Program director Michael at the front and he told me I had to see my counselor and that when I was done with her come back and let him know, so I check in and spend almost 40 minutes with my counselor and within that time 30 more people check in, so when I'm done I go back to the front desk and tell Michael the program director and I told him that I had already checked in and that I shouldn't have to go all the way back to the line. Well first he tells me that he will let the nurses know so they can dose me and that way I can be on my way (which he completely lied about) I waited for a couple minutes and I didn't see my number on the screen so I went back to the front desk where Michael the program director was and asked him what was going on and at this time he proceeded to treat me like I was bothering him and told me that I would have to go to the back of the line. Which is completely unprofessional especially for people who work and in my case I actually run a professional business with a 4.9 rating. Also this program director Michael is not very professional the way he carries himself. He is always bumping knuckles with the patients there at New Seasons and treats the facility like a hang out spot rather than a actual treatment facility. Horrible and unprofessional behavior from Michael the program director.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) evolve with clients' changing needs and are often well-suited for clients exiting inpatient rehab and those at an increased relapse risk. These programs typically involve between nine and 20 hours of treatment weekly, with the intensity and frequency of care decreasing as clients stabilize. Most intensive outpatient rehabs integrate a variety of treatment modalities to maintain a high level of individualized care. Services generally include counseling, recovery education, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

There are many types of drug rehab in North Carolina. To receive treatment for addiction, you can choose from many inpatient and outpatient programs. Often, participants start with detox and work through a full continuum of care that continues with ongoing support for long-term recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Accreditations

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) is a non-profit organization that specifically accredits rehab organizations. Founded in 1966, CARF's, mission is to help service providers like rehab facilities maintain high standards of care.

It's crazy the amount of money they make and how bad the service is. The staff is great and super nice but they force you to see a doctor once a month. And the doctor only works for 1 hour at 5am in the morning. Why can't they pay the doctor for more than 1 hour. They are making $25 a day off of methadone that costs pennies to produce. But they can't pay the doctor to come in? They also are crazy about owing them money. I owed them a couple hundred dollars and they kept bothering me everyday to get me to pay early even though Medicare was going to pay it. Imagine if you went to a doctor for surgery and you give the doctor your Medicaid number and they say they will reimburse the doctor with Medicaid. The doctor waits for Medicaid to pay him he doesn't beg you everyday for money. And the crazy thing is everyone says this is the best clinic in Gastonia I can't imagine how bad the other clinics are.
