Now that I've been going to this particular location for going on 6 years... (Will be 6 years this November 2O25)... I've had time to process a whole lot. The counselors are very caring. They're really helpful and kind. They want to see you do well. The nurses are super friendly. So are the doctors. As far as wait times, well, TBH, that all depends on what time you get there during the morning. Like me for example. I go daily now and I try to go before 6am, if I get there before 6am, and I don't have a UA, I'm usually in and out in about 5-10 minutes. In my opinion, this is one of the better clinics in the Hagerstown area. They all want to see you do good and stay clean and sober for the rest of your life. Not saying you'll have to be here that long, but, just enough to get stable to where you feel safe and comfortable with yourself. I also wanted to say that I've had about 4 or 5 counselors since I've been going there and IDK why the counselors keep leaving or getting let go. The one I have now, she seems pretty nice. Also, FYI: As of June 1st 2024, their hours will be changing. The cutoff time for dosing will now be 12 Noon, instead of 1pm. I think it's because of the lack of counselors and nursing staff. It would normally be a 5/5, but things have REALLY changed. Physicals every 3 months, I don't understand why...and they have a HUGE turnover of nurses and counselors. I'm telling y'all what, if Mary goes, idk how much longer everyone will stay. Mary is the best!

Years ago I would have given them five out of five. Now after what they just pulled some really low stuff on me. I had a chest tube, pneumonia and a hard part of my lung removes. Then pneumonia was so bad. My entire lung was white in the X-ray. It was so full so I miss missed a bottle recall. Well I just found on my answering machine 2 weeks later they called again which I didn't even know. I'm recovering from surgery and actually went back into the hospital with covid, blood poisoning and kidney problems! Only days later! And I listened to the message the day after but it was someone asking me to call them and said nothing about someone calling the day before about the recall. Point being I've been there for years. It took me a long time to get my take-homes. I had all of them and they just snatched them away. When I'm literally at the lowest point in my life in and out of the hospital I have to have a biopsy on my uterus colonoscopy because blood and it feels like I have a basketball on my chest and I guess I'm probably on the way to ketos at CVS because I'm going to type to diabetic and I thought it was my lung riding that was making me have this taste in my mouth but maybe it's that. Either way I have felt like an aunt with a magnifying on my back and then to make my life just a little bit harder and a little bit more unmanageable because I have nurses coming in my house now 3 days a week. Also on top of all the doctors appointments and having a keep up with with food stamps and TCA too because then I won't be able to eat and they just threw that on top of it. I didn't think they would ever do something like this to me here. I thought I was safe but I thought wrong! They could have not done this at a lower point. I am having so many medical issues. I'm in so much pain. I don't leave the house and they dropped this bomb that I worked for for so long. They really do want people to go out again. Why would they hurt people who that have done everything to get where they are and then punish them back by taking what they work so hard for? That's a slap in the face. Apparently they're all like this! They had two counselors for over a year. I would go 6 months or more without a counselor. I think one day I had a counselor for a whole hour and then she quit and they expect us to abide by every newly made up rule knowing that when we don't come in for a month at a time And expect us to know what's going on. It's funny we're all supposed to do an individual every month. It's required by a state of Maryland and yet I didn't have one for months at a time since I had no counselor but nothing happened to them when they didn't do their part. But we're supposed to to accept this happening to us when they fall short. For God's sakes. Don't go try to get the people that are actually still using to do more treatment. Why don't we mess up the ones that are already having clean for years! Great job! I'm really tired of the judgmental b******* and the lies and the fact that they can't comprehend when someone is truly ill and sick! I've been afraid that I'm going to die here in the next couple years because of all the problems I'm having in these people are worried making you drive an hour up there over and over when I just got out of ICU and then went back a couple days later I'm so angry and disgusted. I can spit nails but if you ever feel like you think you should get on methadone try everything else before you do because they keep a noose around your neck and they choke it every once in awhile like a dog collar and then when they feel like it know where all the counselors that were th! Oh and for some reason they can't seem to understand that my diagnosis was MOF I I was having multiple working failure. From such a big infection on the outer layer of my lung, oh that's the other part. I had a huge infection on the outside of my lawn too

Yes I’ll agree this treatment center has been a very very positive experience. Especially those who have moved on to another job. Am sure working here could be a challenging experience as well. Even though the few counselors I have had were worth coming to this center and am grateful for there stall. I hope going forward I’ll experience the same. Thank you.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Clients who are leaving inpatient rehab often choose to transition into an intensive outpatient program (IOP) to receive high-level support as they reintegrate into their home, workplace, and community. Intensive outpatient rehab also benefits those at risk of relapse. Clients typically participate in nine to 20 hours of treatment weekly, with modalities ranging from psychotherapy to addiction and recovery education. Many programs also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) and complementary care, such as nutrition counseling, and acupuncture.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Once a person has become addicted to a substance, drug rehab in Maryland is often necessary to overcome that addiction. These programs provide the tools individuals need to manage the physical, mental, and emotional issues involved and begin a successful recovery journey.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

This place is awful, I want to make an appointment but I can't because the doctor isn't available, and this happens every time I call! Although the treatments work, the staff and service NEED to improve ASAP.
