About Parkland Health Center

Parkland Health Center in Farmington, Missouri provides a wide range of healthcare services. I like that you will be guided through every stage of your medical journey. Their staff will guide you through recovery, therapy, and education. Insurance is accepted.

Connecting Via Social Workers

Their social workers will be the ones to connect you and your family to resources in the community and at the center. They are able to help you enroll in programs such as substance abuse counseling.

What stood out to me is their homeless outreach medical services program. The program provides a mobile doctor’s office to residents of the county who do not have access to medical care.

Their social workers will be able to help you continue with your healing journey. They will help you with discharge planning, crisis intervention and community referrals.

Passing The Time

The center is in a great location with plenty of things to do near by. The downtown area has unique shops to visit. It also has restaurants and cafes.

If you would like to relax outdoors or go on a walking trail then you may like to visit Saxony Village Park. The Farmington Public Library is also near the center.
The Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce is able to provide you with resources about the local events and activities.

Just spent the last 3 days in this hospital for what we thought would be a quick in and out visit for a wound. The staff was amazing, the nurses were very attentive. They addressed all the issues my husband was having, ( that we didn't know he was having ) and did an awesome job of making sure we knew what we need to do in the future to help his health ❤️

Accepted Insurance

Parkland Health Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehab enables clients to continue to work, attend school, or reside at home while undergoing treatment, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Evening, night, and weekend sessions are available at many facilities to ensure continuous access to care on the client's schedule. Many centers also offer ancillary services, such as career coaching and peer mentoring, to promote clients' sustained recovery and community integration. Higher-level outpatient treatment, including intensive outpatient (IOP) care, is also widely available.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Extremely rude when I called for questions with my child, said they'd call me back and didn't so I called again and she got very very snippy with me then hung up on me more than once when I called back several times. This was on purpose and so wrong especially concerning a child.

I have had two surgeries within the past 2 years at Parkland: Dr. Sloan, Dr. Cooper, all staff, nurses and recovery care team have all been wonderful to be cared by. I have heard and seen some bad reviews by folks in this area but wanted to leave a good review today and say that I have ALWAYS had good experiences with everyone at the health center and am thankful for a good team of health care providers here in this town!

My experience with Parkland has been very disturbing. Had to go through a very irritating dance with constant disrespect of not getting to an actual human being. Trying to reschedule an appointment. I am already at 73, totally tired of AI as everyone I have spoken to. No respect for elder care.

This emergency room needs to get a actual nurse to check people in .The rude people who are checking people in have no idea of what an emergency is . I have never had to wait so long to be checked in to a emergency in my life . They don't seem to care that your there in a emergency situation that means hustle and get them help .We had to leave and come to Bonne Terre and it's not alot better but at least we made it and was checked in.I am so angry the woman at Parkland just smiled at us as we left instead of asking for help or getting her self in a hurry, she sat there going over the man's Dr and insurance and none of that is her job they get that from you later yet she left us standing there no care my husband was in exstream pain after falling and landing on the arm he just had surgery on . PLEASE TEACH THE SECRETARIES ,RETRAON THEM SOMETHING IT SHOULDNT BE THIS HARD TO GET INTO AN EMERGENCY ROOM 😔 😞 SAD .

This places need management and new nurses because these nurses don't do anything for their client. My fiance got rushed here for food poisoning and we have been sitting here for 3 hrs or longer now. They do not care, we should have already been out but they are just on their phones, watching "work videos " but in reality it's only TikTok and them checking their Facebook. I had to hit the nurse button to get someone in a room, while my fiance was puking and by the time someone arrived she was done. It took nearly 10 minutes for someone to come to her. I do not recommend people to come here and get looked at.

We have been waiting in the waiting room for 2 hours!!! It would be nice if they would give you updates to let you know what’s going on.

(Update) Hospital care part- We brought my Dad here because we noticed he wasn't feeling good and getting weak, they found out he had pneumonia and blood clots in his leg, they admitted him in the hospital. Mostly to all staff, were very sweet, nice, and seemed professional, and knew what they were doing. (Some of the case workers not so much) I do wish he could've stayed a little longer until his pneumonia cleared up a little more, but they shipped him to a rehab facility, in Poplar Bluff, one nurse said right when you enter the hospital, they start planning your discharge, really that's not best until the patient is somewhat better and not still sick, to plan a discharge. - For the doctors that work here, primary care, you can never get a hold of there nurse.

Their ignorance has killed people in the past. Someone should shut this hell hole down already.

Went for lab work. Signed in via the kiosk as instructed. Sat for almost 2 hours watching other people flgo back. When I brought it to their attention they said they tried to call my phone. No, they didn't. Then they said they called and no one answered in the waiting room, lie. Ryan the "phlebotomist" missed and proceeded to blame the "new needles from a new manufacturer, aren't as sharp" . No punctuality, no professional demeanor. Less than one star.
