About Parkland Health Center

Parkland Health Center in Farmington, Missouri provides a wide range of healthcare services. I like that you will be guided through every stage of your medical journey. Their staff will guide you through recovery, therapy, and education. Insurance is accepted.

Connecting Via Social Workers

Their social workers will be the ones to connect you and your family to resources in the community and at the center. They are able to help you enroll in programs such as substance abuse counseling.

What stood out to me is their homeless outreach medical services program. The program provides a mobile doctor’s office to residents of the county who do not have access to medical care.

Their social workers will be able to help you continue with your healing journey. They will help you with discharge planning, crisis intervention and community referrals.

Passing The Time

The center is in a great location with plenty of things to do near by. The downtown area has unique shops to visit. It also has restaurants and cafes.

If you would like to relax outdoors or go on a walking trail then you may like to visit Saxony Village Park. The Farmington Public Library is also near the center.
The Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce is able to provide you with resources about the local events and activities.

IDK who they got in charge of scheduling appointments for procedures, but they ABSOLUTELY SUCK and have NO CLUE what they're doing! I've had 3 procedures here now and they called the day before ALL of them to reschedule. Not just once, but TWICE! I've been waiting to have 4th procedure done for over a month now, because they had to reschedule for a THIRD time! Whoever they got doing scheduling should seriously find another department to work in!

Absolutely terrible staff with no bedside manors, refused to let us see patient advocate after disregarding all symptoms. Their own receptionist recommended we go to Festus instead as she would "never come here".

Accepted Insurance

Parkland Health Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehab enables clients to continue to work, attend school, or reside at home while undergoing treatment, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Evening, night, and weekend sessions are available at many facilities to ensure continuous access to care on the client's schedule. Many centers also offer ancillary services, such as career coaching and peer mentoring, to promote clients' sustained recovery and community integration. Higher-level outpatient treatment, including intensive outpatient (IOP) care, is also widely available.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Their ignorance has killed people in the past. Someone should shut this hell hole down already.

Went for lab work. Signed in via the kiosk as instructed. Sat for almost 2 hours watching other people flgo back. When I brought it to their attention they said they tried to call my phone. No, they didn't. Then they said they called and no one answered in the waiting room, lie. Ryan the "phlebotomist" missed and proceeded to blame the "new needles from a new manufacturer, aren't as sharp" . No punctuality, no professional demeanor. Less than one star.

I wish the state would come in and shut this place down. It is Absolutely Ridiculous the way patients are ignored and rushed out the damn door because they don't want to deal with them. I guess that's what happens when the hospital is all about money and no competing hospital in the area. The staff talks to people like the are stupid and don't comprehend anything. Next time, I will just take my family members to the festus hospital. Everything and everyone is a million times better! Especially staff members treat patients a million times better.

Had an appointment for a colonoscopy. Called 5 times to see what time my appointment was. Every time was told they would call me right back. That never happened. Had to call my dr. office to see if they could find out for me. They got the answer in minutes. Appt. time was 11:00 was told to be there at 9:00. At 11:00 I asked if I was in the right waiting room. They said yes. And she also said they were running an hour behind. As a paying customer. Your not allowed to be late. But they can be late. And not even tell you when you check in. I will never be coming here again. And will be sure to let everyone know how horrible this place is.

This is the WORST hospital. The ER is a joke! The triage lady that is short, rounded, and short hair elderly lady. She is the worst healthcare worker I have come in contact on 01/30 around 10pm. This hospital has no idea from their inside out of communication. They left us unattended for over 4 damn hours and ignored call lights. Dr. Brown is not someone I would recommend in the ER he makes you feel belittled and does not hear your concerns out, he over rides your words when talking. This hospital should be SHUT DOWN! Poor staff overall with poor working etiquette. If you’re in the healthcare field it should be more than about the “money”. You’re suppose to be caring for LIVES.

If I didn't have to leave a star I wouldn't. The triage nurse on 12/30/24 @ 12:30 pm was so rude. My daughter was sent over from dialysis, she treated her like garbage. I wanted to leave ,but my daughter said they are expecting me mom. There is absolutely no reason to treat anyone, the way she treated her. I pray we never have to go to that hospital again.
