About Recovery Works London

Recovery Works–London, is located on South Laurel Road in London, Kentucky. They provide detox and residential/inpatient treatment for adults who have substance use disorders. The residential facility is open 24/7, but their administrative staff is only available during normal business hours.

About the Center

The London location is situated in a rural area with plenty of natural scenery. The Daniel Boone National Forest is pretty close by. London is also home to Harland Sanders Museum and Levi Jackson State Park, so if outdoor excursions are possible, you might be able to pick up new interests in town that can be healthier ways to cope with stress instead of turning to drugs.

And let’s talk a bit about the center as well. It’s a medical clinic for sure, but there are plenty of home-like accents to make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed. The color scheme varies throughout, so you can find a spot to make it your own. There are TVs and artwork scattered throughout, and the cafeteria has a full kitchen. You’ll probably share a room with a bunkmate, but there’s plenty of space so you can also get some privacy.

Meds and Treatment

At the center, you’ll partake in medication assisted treatment like Vivitrol and Suboxone to help reduce withdrawal pains. There’s also a heavy emphasis on the 12 Steps and fellowship via therapy. Education workshops are required and your family will also be involved with your recovery.

They take Medicaid and plenty of major insurance providers. They don’t accept out-of-network plans, so those clients will have to pay out of pocket. Contact them if you have any questions about payment plans.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Participants in 12 step programs attend regular group meetings, which are free, anonymous, and open to the public. Most communities offer multiple meetings daily, with specialized formats, including programs for seniors, teens, and families, widely available. 12 step recovery prioritizes participants' spiritual, emotional, and psychological growth and healing to support their sustained sobriety. Participants also receive one-on-one mentoring from a self-selected sponsor as they work through the 12 steps of recovery.

Inpatient rehab is designed primarily for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those in crisis situations that may increase their risk of relapse. Clients reside at the inpatient treatment center for the length of the program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Inpatient treatment typically includes 24-hour clinical care and extensive addiction counseling and recovery education using CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing or other psychotherapeutic approaches.

Treatments

Men and women in Kentucky participating in group therapy learn to express their feelings and struggles with drug addiction in a non judgmental atmosphere. Your peers can offer you empathy and encouragement because they understand your journey to recovery. This fosters a sense of community and belonging that may extend far after group therapy sessions.

In individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction, the therapist and patient work together to address the challenges and triggers that drive addictive behavior. This offers a customized approach to a healthier, substance free life.

Life skills equip you to obtain and maintain employment, establish healthy relationships, develop a healthy daily routine, manage your finances, and practice self care. Because these are an important part of successful recovery, life skills training should be an integral part of your rehab in Kentucky.

Several techniques are key to motivational interviewing in Kentucky. Your therapist will use open ended questions, affirm your strengths, reflect your responses back to you, and summarize your responses. This place is insane I had to walk 5 miles back from the hospital because there phones was broken I wasn’t the only person who had to walk. I also have stomach and heart issues and they was not getting my heart meds and was limiting my stomach meds I AM SUFFERING STILL even after leaving ama due to a situation that happened with another patient and my health I can’t stop my stomach from being in pain anymore because how long I was limited from my meds my meds don’t work anymore like they are supposed to. They seemed nice at first some people there are good but others is just not good especially Debbie. Debbie has the attitude and speaks so horrible against other patients. Saying things that makes u wish u wasn’t there at that facility. And when I filed a grievance NO ACTION AGAINST HER. How is she gonna tell someone if they have adhd or not just because she didn’t see the adhd act up in the moment and tell me my plan was stupid and I should hear myself right now. And also told me my grandparents didn’t pick up because they didn’t want me like excuse me they want me they was just busy with my kid. Oh and some of the staff including the younger mixed girl that is sometimes in the classes if u are not there favorites they will hardly help you out or talk to you but will spark up convos with every one of there favorites but those who arent favorites. When i wanted to leave due to how i was treated i was told she couldnt help me that i needed to figure it outmyself but in order to leave u needed to get ur stuff and sign papers and staff needed to do that. So she was staff so why couldnt she had notified the manager guy who was nowhere to be found and the reporting number they dont even respond to it. Find other places then this place if you need help everyday in there was no help. They dont even notify you if someone calls asking about you. Update: a year later i got testing and i didnt have raynauds like there doctor here told me. Refused me the er when my fingernails was turning blue. Dr there says raynauds but my testing i got now says otherwhise i was probably having medical emergency

The counselors were very kind and empathetic. The issues I had was the nurses that work nights are rude and they seem to hate there jobs. Also the lady that runs the 9am group during the week Tori seems to play favorites, she's vindictive and hateful just because she doesn't like them. There was a lady in one of the group sessions that was asking for the name and number of someone outside of the facility so that her buddies could "pay him a visit." All the while, Tori was sitting there on her cellphone ignoring everything, everybody, and didn't even bother to put a stop it. When I asked her about it her response was she knows the girl and has made similar comments about people before in previous group sessions and should not be taken seriously. Whether you think someone is being serious or not making threats towards another person or taking the law into your own hands is never ok and should always be taken seriously. I am appalled by how Tori handled the situation and I don't think she should be working in a rehab facility full of addicts.
