About Retreat Of Atlanta

The Retreat of Atlanta can be found on Eatonton Highway in Eatonton, Georgia. Their addiction treatment centers provide relaxing, comfortable and supportive care in home-like environments throughout the City of Atlanta. They also provide a detox and residential treatment center at a facility outside of Atlanta, that provides support to you if you are in need of acute care and stabilization.

Their residential program can provide you with follow up therapy, medication-assisted treatment and counseling services to support your path to recovery. Regardless of what stage of addiction you may find yourself in, The Retreat of Atlanta offers support and treatment to make sure you meet your sobriety goals.

Detox Program Located a Short Drive from Atlanta

This can include medication assisted treatment through Suboxone and Vivotrol to reduce cravings and withdrawal pains.

They also offer continued support following detox to ensure you are enrolled in weekly treatment sessions and maintaining your commitment to sobriety. Aftercare can last from 30-90 days and can include sober living homes as well as traditional outpatient care within their network.

Traditional and Holistic Approaches for Tranquil Care

Their therapy programs that follow your stabilization will offer a supportive care environment without the distractions that may be impacting or causing negative self-behavior. They focus their care on both your physical and mental wellness and provide multi-levels of therapy models that may be conducive to your specific needs.

They also offer holistic care through yoga and other meditational practices, to support your total body healing and wellness. In addition, they offer nutritious meals and guidance and encourage mindfulness in everyday lifestyle. That way, clients are healthier in body and spirit and can find better ways to cope without using drugs.

If you are mislead into thinking this was under the new owners from the old reviews with the 5 star ratings, you are VERY wrong. This is not Retreat of Atlanta anymore. New owners, everything is different. NOTHING LIKE RETREAT OF ATLANTA. They wouldn't help get cigarettes, AMA'd me out and kept my personal effects, and ironically when I told the lady I would have to leave if I ran out of cigarettes, she simply said "Ok" no remedy for the problem was offered, and had a bad attitude for the rest of the morning. The food is not the same, and frankly yes only a few nurses up there now leftover from when it was ROA. Oh and now they hold your phone the first 5 days, and there's no longer going out to smoke whenever you like. The only thing the same about this place is they have Atlanta in the name.

Angela was extremely nice and helpful in the beginning. Telling me everything I wanted to hear to get me to bring my son. He wasn't there a week good and had so many valid complaints. When asked of he could be moved to another room to void conflict with a roommate that has has issues with several other people he was told no. When I called to peak to someone about the issue, my son was asked why he mentioned it to his family and that they would make it worse for him since I called. When trying to contact Angela about the situation she did not respond and never did. However prior to his admission the communication was instant. Not only did I text and call her I sent emails as well with no response. This was a waste of 2 weeks at the facility they were no help and the nursing staff is just as bad. I called to pick up his suitcase and ws told to come get it. Only to drive n hour and a half for them to say it was thrown away. Who is going to reimburse me for those items?

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Inpatient rehabs feature intensive clinical supervision and a highly structured and supportive environment, meaning they are especially well suited for clients in early recovery and those at risk of relapse. Clients reside at the treatment facility and engage in various therapeutic sessions throughout the day, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Many programs also offer evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation and massage.

Treatments

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

While each person is unique, the typical length for dialectical behavior therapy is six months to a year. You'll attend weekly hour long individual sessions with your therapist, as well as weekly group sessions. Homework between sessions often includes keeping a diary to track your emotions and behaviors. Your therapist uses this diary to guide the focus of each session.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The skills you learn in couples therapy are designed to help you successfully address relationship challenges as they arise. These skills can include anger management, conflict resolution, communication, and problem solving.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

When it is difficult to talk about feelings or challenges, creative arts therapy can provide an outlet to express your emotions and process the issues. A trained therapist will guide you in exploring your struggles through art forms such as dance, music, painting, or journaling.

Experiential therapy in Georgia focuses on subjective experiences. These experiences, such as art, music, animal care, or wilderness courses, evoke sensations and perceptions that allow you to process emotions, reflect, and achieve greater self awareness.
