I came here for an injury which happened at my place of employment in December of 2023. I told the ER the information and that the billing will be going to Workers Comp at the time. They then billed to my personal insurance regardless. One day I received a notification that a bill was overdue, so I paid it assuming it was one of my other non-work related bills (no, I did not look close as I never would have expected a work injury in my own account) Upon realizing I called ascension for a refund and explained they billed me incorrectly. They apologized and told me it would be switched over to the correct insurance. Once the correct insurance had paid the bills I would be credited my full refund. This ordeal has been going on for over a year. I have emailed and spoken with a dozen employees who had promised me corrections. When no progress was made I spoke to escalation managers, Brenda and Pamela, who promised me action in this situation that should have never happened. "This will be a priority" they would say. Yet, every time I speak to someone I am told the same "the bill will be rerouted within 45 days, and then after another 45 days your refund will arrive" over and over again. I have been told at several points there was no record of my reports, and then those statements have been backtracked at other times. I have expressed that I am grateful to those trying to help and making promises. I work in customer service, I do not take situations like this lightly, I am understanding and considerate. But an emotionally and mentally exhausting battle uphill for a simple correction of a bill legally required to go to Workers Comp is beyond something I can comprehend. Staff on the phone have agreed, it makes no sense. I have been begging for help and I am exhausted with no where else to turn. Somehow instead of feeling like a human deserving of my own money, far more in need of it than a large corporation, I am just an inconvenience. I have been trying for so long, and I have no refund as promised. I check constantly, and email my Workers Comp representative often. They wait, and I wait. I don't want to seek legal action over this. Please just do the right thing and fulfill your promises. It cannot be that hard.

Accepted Insurance

Ascension NE Wisconsin – St. Elizabeth Campus works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab is designed to stabilize clients who are exiting detox or those who are in some form of crisis. They are an important preliminary step designed to prepare clients for outpatient, sober living, or community-based care. Clients live at the treatment center and engage in intensive addiction counseling. Group and family therapy is common. Many programs also emphasize recovery-focused life skills training to support clients' sustained sobriety. Some programs offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Clients who are admitted to an outpatient rehab may be stepping down from intensive inpatient care or may be transitioning directly from a detox facility. Outpatient treatment enables clients to remain in or return to their home, workplace, and community without compromising access to care. Clients engage in addiction counseling and recovery education and may also receive evidence-based complementary therapies, such as yoga, acupuncture, and massage. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is commonly available for clients in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers short-term intensive care for drug and alcohol addiction. Often part of a step-down service, PHP treatment allows you to attend treatment on-site during the day, then return home during non-treatment hours. Plans of care typically include relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. Depending on your progress, the duration of a PHP can average 90 days with daily sessions running 4-8 hours per week. Most insurance providers fully or partially cover PHP treatment.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support clients' return to their community following inpatient treatment and may also offer an alternative to hospitalization for clients who are relatively stable following detox. Many intensive outpatient rehabs require clients to participate in a minimum of nine and a maximum of 20 treatment hours weekly. IOP services are also highly customizable and typically include a combination of addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic therapies such as meditation.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The goal of drug rehab in Wisconsin is to address drug addiction as a complex issue that involves physical, mental, and relational aspects. During rehab, treatment focuses on each of these areas and gives you the tools you need to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

As a form of substance use treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy in Wisconsin offers several advantages. The duration of this talk therapy is typically 20 sessions or less, so it can be more affordable, with quicker results. It's also offered in multiple formats, so it can be tailored to meet individual needs.

The word dialectical describes the foundation of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Meaning "opposite," the word refers to the treatment's focus on both acceptance and change. While learning to accept where you are and the emotions you're feeling, you also learn to grow and change to establish healthier patterns in your life.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Proper nutrition is essential to addiction recovery. That's why nutrition therapy is often included in drug rehab in Wisconsin. This treatment will help you relearn good self care habits such as meal planning and maintaining a nutritious diet.

Conflict resolution and stress are common triggers for addictive behavior. Within a group therapy setting, participants learn to practice essential skills to improve relationships, manage conflict, and reduce stress. Each of these is a crucial factor in maintaining recovery.

I sat in the waiting room for half an hour to be seen, and I couldn't even get a pill for the pain that I was feeling. Absolutely slow, does it need to take that long if I've been here before?

Where in the real world is there a 48hr rule for the clinic to process a prescription?, I am so sick of this saying, when you take medicine that can not be refilled early and days are counted, it should be done at the nurse's earliest convenience, but my Doctor has off on Monday's and nobody covers for her and tells you to wait till she is back on Tuesday, and I was told I should have called on Friday, so it's the patient's fault, is it also my fault that my Doctor has a 3 Day weekend and nobody covers for her on Monday's? My fault that no one other Doctor in the department will act as a team and only take the attitude "it's not my patient" therefore it's not my problem, there needs to be better training when it comes to acting as a team in this department and taking care of simple requests and get rid of that unknown rule that it takes 48 business hours to process a script to call in, so a Friday call in would be processed Wednesday, also I would like to see this "rule" in writing and both Doctor and patient sign it then, all I want to hear is we'll do our best.

I personally want thank the night staff in the ER for being patient with me the last few times I was in there this week. They were nothing but kind and helpful with what limitations they had for dental pain. They had me seated/seen and in and out of the ER within the hour. I finally got those teeth removed so you should no longer see me there. Thank you for all the help!
