They did to brush on customer service. The registration staff do not know how to address their patients. I know this is the 21th century and yet some things never get old such as respect of your elders. There was a young lady at the registration desk who could have easily passed for 18, she certainly didn't look any older than 22 and yet she yelled out my first name as if we were children playing together in the sandbox. I'm nearly 65 yrs old. I told her that I'm Ms. Thomas to you, honey. She paid no mind to my request and went on her duties. Everything else was pleasant there.

I was at this location on 4-8-25 for chest pain and horrible headaches unfortunately I had Dr. Junaid Hashim and he was beyond disrespectful talked a lot of shit saying he can’t really help and that I’ll have to see a neurosurgeon ok that I don’t mind but his attitude was uncalled for so as I was waiting for my discharge paperwork I told him he was rude witch he was and his response was well you’re a horrible person and he’s gonna get security involved because I haven’t left the ER let, I’m like I’ll leave when I want ( seeing I was still waiting for my discharge paperwork ) this rude doctor doesn’t deserve to work with patients with an attitude like his, I told him go ahead and get security because I’m not leaving till I get my paperwork, I feel sorry for all the patients that had or has to deal with this horrible so called doctor, he really should go back to school to learn RESPECT you don’t like your job then go somewhere else, as I mentioned he’s one of the worst doctors at this hospital, thankfully I didn’t have to deal with his disrespectful attitude when I left, I would tell everyone the has to go to the ER not to have this so called doctor Junaid Hashim as your doctor

Accepted Insurance

Saint John Hospital – Behavioral Health – Madison Heights works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

We had a great experience at Ascension Macomb Oakland Emergency Hospital. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive to my needs. They made sure I was comfortable and received the care I needed promptly. The facility was clean, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. I highly recommend this hospital for anyone in need of emergency care!

I'm asking how a hospital puts a cancer patient in a Lyft. I'm talking about brain cancer, lung cancer, spine cancer, pancreatic cancer, and bone cancer. The hospital keeps saying as long as he's of sound mind and body. However, to my understanding, cancer eats you from the inside out. If he has two brain tumors, how is he able to make decisions for himself? They didn't call his son to see if he could pick him up or let him know he wanted to be released. Then he got home and had no keys to get in we have no clue how he got in it's sad when you have limited people around you and then these places that are supposed to have compassion for you literally could care less about you I'm just making sure everybody is aware how corporations work..

Absolutely the worst hospital I have ever been to. I can see why it’s called one way. I pray they shut it down and all employees loose their licenses.

I have never been so upset at an EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT! All I have gotten in the hour since we checked in is we're waiting for a bed. 4 people have been taken back and my FRIEND is in COMPLETE DISTRESS! The supervising ED PHYSICIAN FINALLY CAME OUT to inform me that he's next. This is AFTER 4 PATIENTS THAT CAME IN AFTER HIM HAD ALREADY BEEN TAKEN BACK. This is not a great start to the year. This is not a great introduction to HENRY FORD'S AND ASCENSION MERGER. I have been with ASCENSION since they were JUST St. John's on the east side of Detroit. I am researching new physicians and hospital systems. This is just horrifying 😞!

Rudest doctor and nurses. They don’t do their job as they suppose to. The nurse was so rude always sitting there flirting with the security instead I called her so many times never heard. The doctor didn’t pay attention either only visited once like you don’t even know what is happening to you.
