About Shorehaven Behavioral Health

Just 15 minutes north of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the Shore Haven Behavioral Health Clinic. This is one of three clinics operating under this organization and this location primarily serves residents throughout the northern suburbs of the state. You’ll find comprehensive counseling services here for adults, teens, and families.

Their programs cover everything from mental health counseling needs to chemical dependency struggles. They also have programs that help you work through traumatic experiences, as well as counseling to address gender dysphoria and related issues that often impact members of the LGBTQ community.

Counseling Rooted in Evidence Based Therapies

All of their services help you work through the challenges you’re facing by employing evidence based therapies. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy are some of the treatments that may be used. The aim of their approaches is to get to the root cause of the behavioral health struggles you’re facing.

As you work through counseling, you’ll develop recovery skills that are specific to the disorder impacting your life. They also offer developmentally appropriate approaches through their specialized child and adolescent therapy programs.

Experience Handling Complex Behavioral Health Disorders

Often, struggles with substance abuse mask more intensive or complex underlying behavioral health struggles. At this facility, you’ll work with highly trained professionals who have experience dealing with behavioral health challenges such as post traumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder.

Accessible Care Near Downtown

Being just outside of downtown Milwaukee means you’re close to a number of community services and social support programs that can make it easier for you to lead a healthier life. You can connect with local 12 step chapters, stroll by the shores of Lake Michigan to your east, and explore the different natural parks and hiking trails here. It’s easy to get around town and to the office for care thanks to the public transportation services that run through this region.

Oh my goodness I had no Idea I could write a review. I HIGHLY recommend this facility. My therapist is Niki Klimowicz, I am her first client three years ago, and I would have never known that she was new and I was her first because she has been wonderful from the VERY FIRST DAY! I have stuck with her as my therapist all three years now and still ongoing and I can say this. Three years ago I was broken, abused, mentally unwell and toxic. I didn’t realize what I was going through wasn’t okay and that I was indeed toxic to people around me. She is not the type of therapist to just agree with you on everything and let B.S slide.. she is so caring and nurturing when we talk but she also knows when I am not telling the full story and can also tell me that I am wrong when I’m wrong, but praises me when I do good and I love that in a therapist. I have been through WAY too many therapists in my life but Niki is hands down the BEST therapist I’ve ever had and now? I have been S/H free for over a year. I’m doing great in recovery. I can identify things like manipulation and gaslighting and what is okay and NOT okay. I can trust her to tell me EXACTLY how it is, but she is so gentle about things if it’s something I don’t exactly want to hear. She is flexible, I’ve had therapy once a week, up to three times a week. She lets me know if she has any cancelations when I’m having a rough time and when I try to avoid her in certain times of my journey when I KNOW she will tell me what I don’t exactly want to hear that I already KNOW she will say, she is on my butt about therapy like a dog chasing a cat. She knows me inside and out. She knows when I’m lying (which is RARELY now days) and she will confront me to tell her the issues I’m having but DOES NOT push to the point where I’m reliving the trauma. She’s very understanding and patient and all in all, AN AMAZING AMAZING THERAPIST!!!! 10000000000000/10! Love that therapist!

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Shorehaven Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
