This facility has been a blessing to my life. I was referred here by another facility and I m so grateful I got the opportunity to come here instead. All the staff has been amazing and have given me hope that I too can stay clean and one day be in their position. I ve attended other facilities that are 75-90 day programs and I feel that I ve gotten more out of my time here (30 days) than I did out of the others. I appreciate everyone s dedication to each and every one of us and I can t stress enough how grateful I am to have found this place. Here I felt like I actually mattered and an individual person, not like I was just another client. Thank you for everything TRC and staff.

I stayed at TX Recovery. It was a good facility and helped me. The food was pretty good as well. I had Tina for a case worker and she was awesome. Only one of the "teachers" was kinda rude. Most of them had great classes. My issue is the customer service afterwards. I am having issues and I can't get in touch with the business office. She called me back 2 weeks later. I called and left a message after I got to her call. I still haven't heard back after a week and a half later.

This place is one of the best places to go to for drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The staff listens to your needs and work very hard to make sure you get what you need. There is plenty of recreational activities to do, like horseback riding and zip lining. On Friday night there is karaoke and Saturday night there is trivia. They do a lot to keep your mine on your recovery like housekeeping and the do your laundry. This place is just awesome and that is an understatement!

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CMT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse. CBT is based on the premise that a person’s problems and difficulties stem from their struggles with the cognitive and behavioral aspects of their life. The National Institute on Drug Abuse cites that “Cognitive-behavioral strategies are based on the theory that in the development of maladaptive behavioral patterns like substance abuse, learning processes play a critical role.” Because of the interplay between a person’s thoughts and actions and reactions, a person’s life and mental and emotional health can become imbalanced to the extent that their feelings and behaviors might be impacted, things that could lead to, or further propagate substance abuse and addiction.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction. Equine therapy, is also called equine-assisted psychotherapy. The Treehouse offers on two occasions per month, a chance to enjoy the beautiful 40 acre landscape that surrounds the, by engaging on trail riding excursions. This opportunity is open to those who don’t utilize our equine therapy program as well.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Family therapy and support are designed to create an encouraging and communicative shelter in which a person can recover from addiction. They include a wide variety of treatment methods, including detoxification, psychological analysis, behavioral adjustment and interaction with family members in order to build a solid support group. Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

I don’t think I can say enough good things about this amazing place called Texas Health Recovery Center in Mansfield, TX. The staff truly care and the programming is extremely thorough and helpful to get a person suffering from addiction (whether it be from prescription, alcohol, narcotics, etc.) back on their ‘clean’ feet physically, mentally and emotionally. Tyler Winter who runs the alumni meetings and several of the group classes brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to the table. In fact, I would say he was an invaluable resource in guiding me to that “Spiritual Awakening” the big book talks about and is essential for true recovery. The social worker(s) and psych team really get in depth with the recovery process for the group as a whole and on an individual basis with each “guest”. I don’t think anyone necessarily plans and times when they check into recovery but my one and only regret is never getting to enjoy the magnificent pool by being at THRC - Mansfield during the summer months. Impeccable treatment center.

This was my answer to being asked by the alumni contact about how I have been and i mean all of it “Good morning. Yeah everything is going great! I feel amazing! I am doing my IOP and therapist sessions weekly. I’m still sober and working on my mental and physical health every day. I attribute that so much to the level of care and support I received in your facility but especially from the staff which went above and beyond in their duties. I feel truly blessed to have been served by the tools and skills I learned in my time as a resident there.”

This is my first recovery and I had no idea what to expect. I have found this experience to be solid and on point with leadership and all staff with one specific exception who shall remain nameless 😬 I was told by many clients this is the nicest facility and treatment center they have been to. I’m completely satisfied with the level of care, food, amenities and housing. Note there are no zip lines, yoga or pool but they say they are working on that. There are some things you can find to be frustrating and every place has some faults however I believe the learning and heartfelt care far exceeds any faults by far. Please admit with respect for yourself, others, staff and the program to get out of it all you can. It’s worth it!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Laura, We’re honored you chose us for your first step into recovery. Thank you for your kind words and thoughtful feedback. While no program is perfect, we’re always working to improve, and we’re grateful to know you found care, support, and growth here. Keep holding onto what you have learned, you are going to go far in life! We're so proud of you.

I was a client here through detox and then completed the residential program and also 1 week of PHP. This place is amazing and they really do care. I've been an addict for most my life. And I never thought I would be in a mindset to stop and be happy about it... This place is amazing and I am so fortunate to have found it. They meet you where you are in your recovery or your addiction. Let's face it, getting clean, living sober, and maintaining that choice is only going to work as long as you want it to work! And everyone has a different level of trauma or addiction or destructive behavior. We are all unique in what we need to feel like we deserve and can obtain a better, clean life. TRC doesnt push you (unless it's what you need and ask for like i did very clearly) LOL it's up to you to do the work and find your peace and find yourself again. TRC just gives you the influence, the safety, the guidance, and the love YOU need to start this beautiful process. Na and Aa were not for me. I thought I was screwed because I just could relate to the principles of NA. I knew it worked for others but it wasn't for me. At TRC I found SMARTrecovery and Refugee recovery, CBT ( cognitive behavioral therapy) and it was such an amazing experience to learn so much about the parts of me that I had total control over but always felt like I did not... There is something here for you if you're lost, broken, grieving, hurting, withdrawing, and seeking a shelter and a family to live you no matter what you're going thru or what you've done. The Dr is amazing and knows every client personally. The staff is attentive and caring and will welcome you always. The counselors are so understanding and give you the tools you need. Maria was my counselor and I love her fiercely... I needed someone to call me on my crap and she did every step of the way. I carry their encouragement, their lessons, their understanding, and their words with me every day. They will stick with you throughout and even after you leave, you know they are always there if you need them. Thank you TRC...
