About Willow Springs Recovery | Texas Drug & Alcohol Addiction Rehab

Whether you need highly structured, continuous care or want to balance life responsibilities while attending treatment, they strive to meet you at any recovery stage. You’ll benefit from a thorough assessment to determine the best level of care for you. Then, you can access a personalized treatment plan with your needs at the forefront. Group and individual therapy, addiction education, art therapy, peer support groups, relapse prevention training and medication management are available.

One incredible feature I noticed was their beautiful campus. They’re conveniently located close to the city but still far enough out to relax and focus on growth. Overlooking a charming pond, their campus offers a pool, a cozy lounge area, a full gym, spacious rooms and a chef staffed kitchen. They ensure you’re as comfortable as possible while working to reach sustained recovery.

I also noticed that they offer 12 Step and non 12 Step programming. Peer support can be an essential recovery element for many. They provide multiple options including Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, Dual Recovery Anonymous and SMART Recovery. It’s great that you have the choice to include these approaches in your journey.

Many previous clients enjoyed their experiences. Multiple people contributed their newfound sobriety to the growth, healing, and self sufficiency they discovered at the facility.

Phenomenal treatment center. From the kitchen staff, housekeeping, tech and clinical staff everything was amazing. Gives you a perfect blend of options with AA, smart and dharma mixed with enough knowledge of the disease and an everyday process group which is very helpful. Saw my therapist 3 times a week I think with their being 50-60 clients that’s damn near unheard of. Bring outside speakers every night and their stories helped keep me inspired while still in treatment. Equine and yoga was a great plus too. Currently in their PHP program and am loving it. Only thing that had me skeptical was getting to keep your phone but actually helped get me ready for the real world vs most rehabs where you get out and are completely overwhelmed. Highly recommend this to anyone who themselves or has a loved one trying to get sober!

Accepted Insurance

Willow Springs Recovery | Texas Drug & Alcohol Addiction Rehab works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Dual diagnosis rehab is a viable option for drug and alcohol addiction treatment. Inpatient dual diagnosis treatment addresses both mental health disorders and drug addiction at the same time. Alcohol and drug addiction can lead to mental health disorders. People with mental health disorders have a higher chance of developing a drug or alcohol addiction. In fact, 7.9 million of the people in the US have a co-occurring mental health with their substance use disorder, according to a 2014 National Survey on Drug Use and Health.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

When used as recommended, nicotine replacement therapy in Texas provides enough nicotine to help you avoid severe cravings and withdrawal symptoms after quitting smoking. This increases comfort so you're less likely to relapse into your smoking habit.

willow springs in my opinion is the reason my resilience is alive and well. my soul is learning peace. I have learned more in thirty days than I have in five years in and out of treatment trying to get sober . I have never met a more organized or attentive staff. from clinical staff to nursing to groups all the way down to kitchen staff and house keeping has everything right . food is incredible Thanx to Mark and his staff. jodi and Pam are the reasons I have hope for my life and recovery. my therapist was top notch. anyone seeking treatment .... willow springs is the same way .. (equine therapy and the fact we have our phones are just two additional incentives). kudos to everyone!

I had a great experience while at Willow Springs recovery. They met my needs with therapy sessions and daily group meetings. The staff and nurses did a great job and took care of me. They help me with an aftercare plan to remain and have a long-term sobriety. I am grateful for the opportunity Willow Springs gave me and my recovery. Thanks a lot I won't forget all your help.

Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing. One of the most frustrating aspects was been the lack of consistency, not only in how the program was run, but also in how rules are applied and enforced. Expectations seemed to shift without clear communication, and decisions often felt arbitrary. What’s was event more concerning was the blatant hypocrisy in how the rules are upheld. It felt similar to middle school bullying and favoritism. Certain residents appear to be held to entirely different standards, while others faced consequences for the same behavior. This kind of double standard undermines the integrity of the program and creates a sense of unfairness that’s hard to ignore. I had hoped for a more transparent and structured environment, but instead, I found myself constantly questioning what was actually expected. This facility, unfortunately, operated with clear favoritism, often ignoring the needs of those who were genuinely seeking help. Rather than offering support, certain staff members seemed more focused on exerting control, creating an environment that felt more punitive than therapeutic. It felt like boredom or smoking was the default, which only made it easier for people to fall back into unproductive or harmful habits. A program that claims to support growth and recovery should offer more than just idle time; it should provide alternatives, outlets, and opportunities for constructive engagement. While there was a game room with ping pong and pool etc. we were not allowed to use it. Medication management was another major issue. The process was chaotic, with long, disorganized wait times and frequent instances of incorrect or delayed dosages. For individuals relying on consistent medication to stabilize their mental or physical health, this kind of mismanagement was not only frustrating, it was dangerous. There were genuine caring members of staff however the overall structure led to me watching numerous vulnerable people placed in a worse situation.

Response from the owner
While we can't comment on specific situations due to privacy laws, the health and safety of our patients is our top priority. If we're not the best fit for a patient's specific situation and medical history, we will refer them to a treatment provider who can meet their needs

So to start out, I just wanna say willow springs has been the most amazing recovery center I have ever been to. Literally everything they do is amazing compared to most other rehabs. The staff actually care. The groups actually speak something about my recovery. They actually gave me hope of future hope & wellness. We got to keep our vapes/cigs & phones/laptops all together. The support from the residential was phenomenal. I thank God for the opportunity to be able to experience this great place & I thank God for the people I met there.

My husband came to the point where he needed help, and decided to go to Willow Springs Recovery. It was almost a four hour drive from our home, but very much worth the trip to visit on Sundays! The facility staff were always very helpful, knowledgeable, and down to earth. The atmosphere and visual surroundings were wonderful. My husband had nothing but good to say about the food, facility staff, and everything recovery wise. He also repeatedly told me about how others would say it was the best one they had ever been to. He is back home now, very healthy and happy!! Thank you Willow Springs!!
