This place is ALMOST like a resort. The property and facilities are beautiful. The food was always amazing , and the head chef is great. He always greets everybody with a smile and takes pride in what he serves. All the BHT were awesome too. This was my first time in rehAb and the fact they never take away. your phone and I could order off Amazon made it soo much easier. The only thing I would add is somehow pairing you up with someone who is a little ahead of you coming off the same substance. So you can ask them what to expect. I literally walked around asking everybody" What's your DOC?" I only found one person. Seemed 80% of residents were there for alcohol. I was there for Fetty& Meth. Took subs too early got PSw which sucked but the nurses did what they could to help and I survived. I did complete the 30 day residential and recommend.

Austin, TX | Cenikor is one of the best addiction treatment centers in Austin, Texas, because it offers a full continuum of care with multiple service offerings. This drug rehab center helps individuals by offering them every aspect of recovery help, from inpatient and outpatient programs for adults and youths to short-term drug and alcohol abuse programs. Each | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I needed to take time out to give a big shout out to Cenikor Austin! I graduated December 30th 2025, was helped into sober living, and am STILL sober. 55 days today! 😁 Who would have thought such a short program could activate such a change??? The design of this program, excellent. The food, exceptional. The success rate/alumni, off the chain! 🤗 And for ALL of the staff...there's not enough words or space to say how I feel about what they do for the women and men there on a daily basis. From the cooks to the case managers, I experienced nothing but GENUINE care, love, and concern. MOLLIE, DAVID, JUSTIN, AUSTIN, MATT, CHRISTINE, GLORIA, DONALD, JOHNNY, SAWYER, CHARLOTTE, HEATHER, HUNTER, and ANDREA...thank you from the bottom of my heart and I love you all!

"I can truly say that Cenikor Austin saved my life. I am currently 9 months sober, and I owe so much of that success to the tools and support I received here. The staff truly cares, and the environment gave me the foundation I needed to rebuild my future. If you are struggling and feel like there’s no way out, please give this place a chance. It was the best decision I ever made."

My recent experience with Cenikor-Austin as a medical detox and residential rehabilitation facility was in fact only a begining, but in the best possible sense. Go here if you are in need of help, empathy, compassion, and care. My experience left me feeling whole and human. Real people who understand real problems and have a real solution. To be completely honest it was my very first stop in my journey to becoming a whole person. I had no previously experience, didn't know what to expect, and was afraid. The staff and medical team never sugar coated things for me;these people have literally been in your shoes. I was treated with dignity and respect but they do have rules, set boundaries, teach you skills to cope with your vices and sometimes call you out when you can't be honest with yourself. When you want help, look no further. They do respect your spiritual beliefs and accept you regardless of what those are. They train you on the 12-step principles of our disease called addiction, but do not shove those ideas down your throat. Allowing me to heal, at my pace was the greatest gift anyone has given me in a very long time. If you are looking for a cure, good luck. If you are looking for re-entry into a life you once had or one that you thought you would never achieve, look no further. Welcome to your new family, My name is Ham and I am an addict.
P.S. Thanks for reading and please, never stop fighting for yourself. We are somebody and we are stronger than we ever give ourselves the credit for...YOU got this! Love, Ham

I’m in the middle, I’ve had good experiences and bad. I’ve had two kids at this particular treatment center, boy and a girl. So this is a long review.
My son: When he first got to the treatment center I felt like the in-person admission process was a little rushed and in our face, like they were in a hurry to scurry on away with him. He was nervous and we were pretty apprehensive to begin with. Once he was admitted the communication sucked. We got a good first impression from the receptionist in the admission building, and that building itself wasn’t too bad. We all liked the campus and how there is plenty of wildlife on it.
-on his unit there were two nurses that were fabulous, did their jobs and communicated well, I feel as though they deserve recognition for that RN Curtis, and RN Arnason, they really showed they cared about the kids and their well being and were good at communicating back and forth with a parent.
-his unit staff were sort of too easy on the kids, didn’t really appear to have the same standards across the board, some ask for MR numbers some didn’t. They wouldn’t relay that you called or sort of encourage the child to call, if I didn’t call and haunt them I probably would have never spoken with him, other than family therapy. My feedback on this would to work on communication skills and consistency.
-he had an amazing therapist that worked really well with him, we really liked working with her.The Therapists and Nurses don’t get enough credit.
- I wouldn’t send your child with things that aren’t necessary, they will get lost or broken or stolen. I wouldn’t send suggest buying cheap fidget toys, coloring books or card games. Things you won’t miss if they come up missing. I wouldn’t send your child with expensive clothing either, it will get ripped torn or stained or also go missing. This isn’t the staffs fault it just happens.
-there was an instance where they x-rayed my sons wrist several times like 3 or 4 because he punched a wall, and they couldn’t get a clear image, that sounded like that was more of an issue with the company they used rather than the treatment center staff themselves.
Over all my son left the unit with much better coping skills and understanding, he is now regulated on his medication regimen, he got an IEP I had struggled getting for him while he was at KI charter school, he received the speech therapy he had needed for a while and couldn’t get into back home due to the insane waiting lists. I thank everybody that worked with Gabe for helping him on this journey, it means alot to his whole family.
Now on to my daughter:
- if you have a daughter I would really think this through thoroughly, I feel like I caused for damage to her personally by deciding to send her, as it turned out to really not be a good fit for her.
The units for the girls are VERY LOUD and chaotic, with frequent behaviors you can hear going on in the background and they are very hectic. My daughter became very overwhelmed and more anxious being there. She does have a great therapist that she likes, she enjoys some of the staff on the unit. The staff that answer the phone on her unit are usually very friendly and sound happy (whether they are or not) . They always have her return my phone call and relay that we called her. Which we really appreciate. She enjoys some of the activities they do on the unit, and off the unit that they get to participate in. She is also doing much better in school while she has been down there. They do get more 1:1 attentions in school.

Austin, TX | Addiction & Psychotherapy Services (Aeschbach & Associates) has been serving the greater Austin area since 1982. We are a private clinic that provides services to opiate-addiction/multiple diagnosis patients. Since 1982, we provide comprehensive opioid addiction treatment to the greater Austin area. We specialized in treatment of complicated patien | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Good people, invaluable service provided. Very legit (non-sketch).
[EDIT/UPDATE] Well, it’s been 5 years since I posted the brief review seen above, and I feel like both this clinic AND me deserve something of an update.
I am still a patient of the clinic’s, albeit a patient whose chaotic and life-threatening issues with opiate addiction thankfully have been thoroughly tamed. While Google Reviews isn’t the appropriate venue to detail the grittier personal details encompassed within an individual case of opiate addiction disorder, I will share without hesitation the undeniable reality that without the service of professionally compassionate treatment of the addiction nightmare which first brought me to their doorstep, I would not be alive and able to compose the review you’re now reading.
How very happy I AM here today, able to talk about this treatment and the improvements to and gains made in my life, none of which would have been remotely possible without the service provided by this clinic. Relationships shattered by the damage wrought by addiction have been repaired. My apartment becomes a nicer and more enjoyable place to call home with each passing year as I replace belongings that I sold or traded for drugs in the past and add new ones I never had the chance to enjoy “back then.”
It’s easier to look in the mirror now that I put on new, clean clothes that
I like to wear, instead of rummaging through piles of tattered threads, searching for the least dirty garments I first got from donation bins and the like. My self-esteem grows each passing day. I no longer avert my eyes from those of the people I encounter.
I no longer find myself having to constantly look over my proverbial shoulder, worried that the people I know will steal my belongings at the first opportunity they see to do so. I no longer find myself incarcerated, wondering what lunkheaded thing I did to land myself there while I was, no doubt, blacked-out thanks to some atrociously dangerous combination of opiates, benzodiazepines, and anything else I might have imbibed while barking at the moon. Good grief, am I ever glad that those days seem finally to be behind me.
One more killer perk which I suspect just might appeal to someone out there: I haven’t been dope-sick—or, I suppose I ought to say “in withdrawal”—not even once since the first day I began treatment.
Not.
Even.
Once.
So, if you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, do yourself a gigantic, merciful favor by picking up the phone and giving these fine folks a ringy-dingy-ding. You could literally change your life today. Never have I regretted my decision to do so.
One love… ✌️

I never do reviews but I am concerned about what I have experienced happening to anyone else. My name is Kimberly and I am an addict in recovery. I'd l I ke to start off being accountable by saying had I never self sabotaged myself I wouldn't of had to find a place to help me recovery from childhood trauma , alcohol and drug addiction however I didn't cope properly and I got myself into a strong hold which I. Grateful to be catching before it's too late and death and institutions are all my family have left of me. With that all being said. Please do your homework and read reviews because had I done that 1st then I would not be sitting in the ER at Baylor in a state I do not live in with no support nearby wondering why the center that called 9.1.1. 2 days ago is now telling me they no longer can keep my bed when I was suffering a TIA stroke due to conflict with another girl in the home bullying and running things due to favoritism manipulation and bullying tactics. They work off a seniority system which is great and effective to each individual however when one addict starts bossing around another addict it's a problem. When staff had to be asked by me to explain the rules to the house to the new comers because we are having other girls in treatment getting frustrated having to tell us the rules that's a problem.....when your given an LE which is a learning experience write up aka spank on the hand and has consequences attached to it by another client in the home who has child hood trauma and bullying issues that's a problem. This is what happened to me and I will just tell you I've never felt more trapped , unheard and more unsafe then I did there. That's truly unfortunate. They have many beds open at the moment and they are telling me that because I've had to come here due to my health which they were told about previously but chose to not let me have my medication which is a blood thinner because of the bottle being opened already that's a huge problem it's discrimination and it's abandoning a client aka patient. They could simply eliminate bullying and allowing senior peers to tell others peers what to do vs staying in their bubble or lane and staff can be more consistent but Instead I'm having to send an Uber to get my belongings so they are not donated in 24 hours from a facility I drove 15 hours to be at. I will also say there is alot of greatness and great staff at this facility and the clinical team is amazing but the actual home needs a better POA , have exit strategies when emergencies happen and most importantly it needs a Safer" safe place "environment plan in my opinion. Not all of us have been to prison or jail and not all of us were raised the same so allowing uneducated clients tell other clients what to do or kicking off their shoes getting ready to fight is not what my trauma driven addicted mind and heart needed that's for sure. Just educate yourself on every level before choosing a place for your loved one. That is the best advice I can give you. For me this wasn't it and I'm disappointed because I felt blessed to be given a bed there and now I'm feeling blessed to beggetting my things from there and this will not be the end of my recovery. I won't and don't have to use again and I pray your loved one never does either. God bless you and your journey aka may the universe bring you all the positive energy your loved one is missing within. ❤️

No parent ever wants to place their child in a treatment center. We were very nervous and scared but the entire staff at SMTC went above and beyond to ensure our family felt heard, seen, and validated. Our child did have to wait for several months for a bed to open (no fault to center as the mental health crisis in our world is a lot and not enough places to help ) but as soon as one did the staff as on top of everything and made the transition from out of state as easy as possible. Through the 8 plus months or child was in SMTC we got to see the staff and campus first hand several times and it broke all the stereotypes about these "types of places". The campus is beautiful and tons of engaging and therapeutic activities for all clients. They planned and executed several special outings , BBQs, and fun activities to keep clients active and involved in every aspects of their mental health treatment. Our therapist , Ms. Mcarthur was exceptional and walked beside us the entire way. she will forever hold a special places in our family for all the tools, tips, and support for gave us. She helped our child learn skills to advocate and take a role in their personal treatment. The nursing staff was kind, knowledgeable and professional. Nurse Anderson, Nurse Macola, and Nurse Headly are amazing assets to the facility. Communication was constant, clear and conveyed in a timely fashion. I was very impressed with the fact the SMTC worked with not only the individual client but also us as a family with weekly family therapy sessions. As parents we were very involved throughout the treatment process. We loved the weekly check ins and staffings to ensure we all were on same page and all effective members of the treatment team. We are eternally grateful for SMTC for coming along and walking beside us without judgement during a very hard, scary and emotional season of our lives. TO ALL THE STAFF: we are so grateful and thankful for all your hard work not only with our child but all the children you help! We know nursing is sometimes hard and difficult but know you are a blessing to so many kiddos! you have all touched our lives with lasting experiences! keep up the amazing work you all do!

Unfortunately, we have had two experiences with the Orchard with two of our adult children. I wrote unfortunately, because no one should have to experience their children battling addiction. We had previous experience at another organization that was fruitless. This was a whole new version.
The professionals at the Orchard care not only for the residents, but also provide forums for the family members as well. It is a welcoming caring environment, where family participation is encouraged, because we all need healing in some respects.
For those who are just about at their wits end, there is hope. Let me also say this is not a miracle place, our kids have work that they need to do. As a Dad, I would encourage you to fully check out the facilities, programs and staff. We have been very blessed with our experiences.

I went to alumni last week to get my 1 year sobriety coin and it was my first visit in about 6 months, and what a total disappointment this has become !
Only 2 people spoke the entire time, not even asking if anyone else would like to share, which I had planned on doing, and I'm not joking when I say that both of their speeches was reminiscing about how much fun they had when they were on drugs or alcohol.
The meeting ran over by almost 30 minutes because both of them took so long, and to make it even worse, they didn't even have any 1 year sobriety coins !!
Bring Priscilla back !
It was a wonderful recovery place when I attended, now it's a JOKE !
Waste of my time, never going back!
I feel sorry for the inpatient people that were there because that alumni meeting did absolutely nothing to help them !

I have not yet been to the new clinic so i can not evaluate that at this time. However, this review is based on NP Laurie Collis alone. She is indeed the very best. Most VA providers should take a page from her book!! I have been in the VA system for over two decades and she is the best provider I have ever had at the VA.
