My therapist was fine, but I never got billed for one of my visits and then 2.5 years later they sent me a bill for 8x the amount, which included a late cancellation charge for a session my therapist cancelled. The therapist didn't respond when I reached out and then they sent me to collections.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy sessions in Michigan allow you to share responsibility with your peers in a group setting. This fosters a collective commitment to achieve sobriety and learn coping skills that are essential to improving your relationships and reducing your stress levels.

Personalized therapy sessions for drug addiction emphasize understanding your background and behavioral triggers for substance use. Your therapist will collaborate with you to create an effective coping strategy and address underlying issues that clear the way for lasting change.

During trauma therapy in Michigan, you are guided through traumatic memories within a safe and supportive environment. Your therapist then provides you with tools to process traumatic events and reduce the symptoms that occur when you're exposed to a trigger. This improves your overall mental health and ability to function in the community.

Both internal and external factors can put stress on a relationship. Couples therapy helps you and your partner work through those stressors and find healthy ways to deal with challenges as they arise.

Family therapy is often recommended for family units with a member undergoing drug or alcohol rehabilitation. Family therapy helps to foster communication and conflict resolution that creates a supportive environment. This helps the loved one who is struggling with addiction.

Amazingly supportive

I took one of my children here for therapy. They were having trouble managing their behaviors. To be honest I think that the therapy felt more for me than them. I felt so alone and at my wits end after dealing with it alone for so long. They saw Jason C. And he was so helpfu ... Read More

My son had supervised visits with his dad through a healing place because of some things that my son had revealed. We went through 4 supervisors in the span of 2 years. Our second supervisor Sherry showed up late to visits and sometimes not even at all, I had no issues with her other than her punctuality. I had to report her to her supervisor and right after I reported her she sent me a text message which was super unprofessional. After I reported her she told the new supervisor Jennifer that my husband shouldnt be present at visits because it caused issues. He never got out of the car at visits or said anything, she never said he was an issue until i reported her. The next supervisor we got was Jennifer and she was even worse. She only made 3 reports in the span of a year and moved to another state without letting me know. 1 of the reports she made was done using another supervisors notes. Someone else took over her visits but she was still writing the reports using the new supervisors notes. We then had court and Jennifer lied and said that she came to visits once a month and tried to speak on things that she wasn't even present for. Would not recommend this place at all especially for visits. Supervisors are supposed to stay unbiased but they do not. Jennifer spent most of her time with my child and his dad at visits so she developed more of a relationship with him. She said she believed he was safe with him after only one visit and recommend that he do visits at his dad's home after only one visit. If someone lives in another state they should not be able to speak on things they are not present for let alone write reports they are not even present for or be asked to give an opinion in court when they haven't supervised a visit in 8 months. This is my life and my child's safety and I felt as if it wasn't taken serious.

I was sent to see Shannon Lowder for a psychological evaluation. She decided from the questions that I filled out on that test that I probably didn't have cancer and if I did that I was greatly exaggerating it!!! I have stage 4 gastrointestinal stromal tumors or gist for short and I have never and would never fake something like that!!!! I believe that people that people that fake cancer deserve to get the real disease!!! I have been fighting cancer for almost 10 miserable years now. My children were18, 16, 14, 12, and 10. They are now 28, 26, 24, 22, and 20. They had to grow up in a world with a sick more worried that she was she was gonna die at any time!!!!! We also have 3 grandbabies that are my absolute world!!!! The stuff this doctor diagnosed me with was just crazy!!! I talked to my psychiatrist and therapist about it and they with wanted to know who Shannon Lowder was referring to because they sure didn't know that me. So if you are ever sent to her ask to see someone else!!!!

I had to use this place for my visits. Do not use this place. My visitation lady Jennifer went above and beyond to not let me see my kids. Even said my fiancé scared my children in court. Liar. Do NOT use this place. And took my visits away because I had a PPO against my Ex wife. She referred my ex as Mama Bear.

There is no shame in seeking out help with mental health betterment and my therapist has made sure that's not something to worry about. I've struggled building rapport with therapists throughout majority of my life due to having complex and convoluted conditions but Steward Reed is the man! His down to earth personality and out of the box methods have been what I needed. It's easy to look at our issues through the lenses of our experiences and it can be hard to see alternative perspectives but it's definitely possible. Often times we seek therapy as a means of fixing something but what it boils down to is being a matter of management and that there is no quick fix or necessarily a fix at all, it just is. Some days can be spent talking about the things that bother you, while others can be philosophical gymnastics. Then there's days that can just be a smile and laughter. He is a true friend when we find that we may not have them readily available in our environment. + I'm in the Detroit area and they have worked with me in doing exclusive virtual visits so I don't have to travel hours weekly to their physical location. KUDOS!
