I recently learned that this clinic primarily focuses on substance abuse and eating disorder treatment. I was not seeking treatment for those issues and would not have chosen this clinic had I been informed that this was its primary focus. The therapist I saw showed a pattern of dismissiveness, interruptions, and self-centeredness. Early on, she declared unprompted, “I know I’m a good therapist.” This statement revealed a lack of self-awareness and humility that set the tone for future sessions. I was frequently interrupted, dismissed, or disbelieved, and attempts to provide honest feedback were met with the statement, “That’s just the way I talk.” A previous therapist had suspected I am autistic and strongly recommended an assessment. I was already pursuing an assessment, but when I brought up autism in a session with the therapist at A Healing Place, she immediately dismissed it, saying she didn’t see any signs. I was later diagnosed with autism. She described herself as "petty," which played out in sessions. In one instance, when I used her own metaphor about “reframing” to discuss trauma and then mentioned that a person has to practice acceptance, she became defensive and redefined reframing incorrectly as acceptance, restating the insight I had made as if it were her own. Her approach consistently reflects a lack of professional boundaries, empathy, and self-awareness. I would not recommend this therapist.

1) This provider gives out false information regarding insurance issues. It is not illegal to not give your insurance. If a pre authorize is needed, the PCP is responsible for. 2) For someone who says that both parents need to help, she does not do it.. she will prevent another patent from any information. 3) She does lies. We have recordings with same issues but different answer and definitely a defensive tone. 4)there are many red flags in the plans she creates. 5) we looked up and confirm with legal that what she states is not true. Avoid counseling with her of you or your child is a high risk. And it is necessary to have both parents involved and not have them separate for a child. We have left and talk to our therapist and that no one should be Stonewall in a care of a child. No wonder she is a 3 star therapist. It's her way or no way. And again it IS not illegal to give your card. It is legal to ask for dates of service. Anyone says this it is a huge red flag.

I took one of my children here for therapy. They were having trouble managing their behaviors. To be honest I think that the therapy felt more for me than them. I felt so alone and at my wits end after dealing with it alone for so long. They saw Jason C. And he was so helpful and supportive. He made a genuine connection with my child and the behavior stopped gradually. I would recommend him to any parent who's child is struggling.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy sessions in Michigan allow you to share responsibility with your peers in a group setting. This fosters a collective commitment to achieve sobriety and learn coping skills that are essential to improving your relationships and reducing your stress levels.

Personalized therapy sessions for drug addiction emphasize understanding your background and behavioral triggers for substance use. Your therapist will collaborate with you to create an effective coping strategy and address underlying issues that clear the way for lasting change.

During trauma therapy in Michigan, you are guided through traumatic memories within a safe and supportive environment. Your therapist then provides you with tools to process traumatic events and reduce the symptoms that occur when you're exposed to a trigger. This improves your overall mental health and ability to function in the community.

Both internal and external factors can put stress on a relationship. Couples therapy helps you and your partner work through those stressors and find healthy ways to deal with challenges as they arise.

Family therapy is often recommended for family units with a member undergoing drug or alcohol rehabilitation. Family therapy helps to foster communication and conflict resolution that creates a supportive environment. This helps the loved one who is struggling with addiction.

My therapist was fine, but I never got billed for one of my visits and then 2.5 years later they sent me a bill for 8x the amount, which included a late cancellation charge for a session my therapist cancelled. The therapist didn't respond when I reached out and then they sent me to collections. Edit: they did correct the amount after I called them and provided receipts, but it was still a ton of unnecessary stress and effort.

This place, to me, has been exactly what it is called: "A Healing Place." My therapist, Sarah H.-W., has been exceptional! ❤️
