CCA REWIEW : A Nightmare Experience If you’re considering this program, prepare yourself for an uphill battle—literally and figuratively. To start, the elevators are perpetually out of service, forcing patients to climb five flights of stairs daily. For individuals already struggling with physical or mental health issues, this is both exhausting and downright dangerous. Accessibility clearly isn’t a priority here. Once you finally reach the top, you’re met with a program plagued by incompetence. The staff, while perhaps well-meaning, often seem disorganized and unprepared. The most egregious issue, however, is the doctor overseeing the program. Their lack of empathy and apparent inability to manage patient care is astounding. Whether it’s dismissing concerns, refusing to adjust dosages appropriately, or outright failing to show up, the doctor’s ineptitude leaves patients feeling neglected and undervalued. To add insult to injury, administrative processes are riddled with errors. Files are misplaced, appointment times are mismanaged, and communication between staff members is practically non-existent. It’s a miracle anything gets done at all. This program feels less like a place of recovery and more like a test of endurance. If you have any other options, I’d strongly recommend exploring them. Recovery is hard enough without the added obstacles this program creates.

I would like to thank THE CENTER FOR COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVES, for helping me change my life! I struggled after incarceration to find safe and suitable housing for me and my daughters. I have a 6 y.o. and a 4 y.o., and Ive been fighting for full custody. I applied for an apartment at THE CENTER FOR COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVES, FREEDOM COMMONS SHA, in Syracuse N.Y. A few months later, I got the call that I was accepted for a 2 bedroom apartment! Ive been here a year now, and just signed a lease for another year! I have 2 YEARS of sobriety, the most Ive had in 30 years. My daughters come on the weekends and a trial set for Sept 1st for custody! Wish me luck! My onsite counselor Nicole O. Has helped me climb the mountains, and thrown me life preservers in the sea. C.C.A., THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THE TOOLS I NEED TO SUCCEED!!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient rehabs offer an intermediate level of care for clients who do not require the kind of intensive supervision and support an inpatient program typically provides. Many clients transition into outpatient care immediately after exiting inpatient treatment. Others enter outpatient programs upon completing detox. Some facilities offer ambulatory medical detox for clients who do not require hospitalization. Most outpatient rehabs offer a combination of services, including addiction counseling, life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Medical detox involves weaning your body off of addictive substances in a medically supervised environment. If you've become dependent on alcohol and/or drugs, quitting on your own can be uncomfortable and even dangerous. In medically assisted detox, a team of licensed medical professionals will help manage potential withdrawal symptoms, ensuring that you're as safe and comfortable as possible. This process typically takes about 5-7 days, although the length will depend on your individual needs.

In New York you'll find substance abuse treatment programs that can help you address your addiction, and any co-occurring mental health disorders. These programs utilize evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic approaches to help you achieve recovery and new tools to sustain it. With various treatment options available, including outpatient, inpatient, and residential programs, you'll be able to find the resources and right level of care you need to effectively treat your addiction.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in New York is a short term therapeutic method used to treat substance use and mental health disorders. CBT typically lasts from five to 20 sessions, based on the individual's needs.

During dialectical behavior therapy in New York, you and your therapist will look for triggers and patterns that are guiding your emotions. This involves keeping a diary of your emotions and situations and sharing this each week with the therapist. This information will determine what you work on in each session.

Accreditations

State Licenses are permits issued by government agencies that allow rehab organizations to conduct business legally within a certain geographical area. Typically, the kind of program a rehab facility offers, along with its physical location, determines which licenses are required to operate legally.
