About HealthQuest, PC

Located in Cordova, Tennessee, is HealthQuest, PC. This is a behavioral health treatment facility that supports adolescents and adults who are working through struggles with mental health or substance abuse. They also have a dedicated opioid addiction treatment program.

Services are offered in an outpatient setting. They accept Medicare and TennCare, along with policies from most major insurance providers. Currently, their services are offered in an outpatient setting, though they have a partial hospitalization program in the works.

This clinic is just under 20 miles east of downtown Memphis. It is a leading provider of care for residents in northern Mississippi and southwestern Tennessee.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy

HealthQuest, PC is committed to providing top quality care, including modern services that can help support you if other therapies have not been successful in the past. One way they do this is through transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy. This treatment can be effective if you struggle with depression and traditional medication has not helped.

This approach has FDA approval and is a non-invasive method that does not use medication. Instead, targeted magnetic fields are used in strategic pulses at specific locations of your brain to help stimulate nerve cells in your brain. This can, in turn, help improve your mood which overtime will ease some of the symptoms you may experience with depression. This treatment has been effective in helping individuals who have a coexisting substance abuse disorder as well.

Opioid Addiction Program

Their opioid treatment program is comprehensive and includes targeted counseling to help you work through cravings and ongoing struggles you’re experiencing. Depending on your recovery needs, medication support may be used as well.

Was referred by my doctor. They called me but I wasn't able to answer. I called them back, and they acted like they had no idea who called or what's going on. They called me again the next day. I answered, and they just hung up when I said hello. Called back, once again no one knows what's going on. How can you help people manage their mental health when you can't even handle patient appointments. The only thing this place is doing for my mental health is to make it worse.

Accepted Insurance

HealthQuest, PC works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs enable clients to receive care without leaving their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically receive intensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Many programs promote clients' long-term sobriety through recovery-focused life skills training and ancillary services, such as peer coaching. Medication assisted treatment (MAT), including medication induction and maintenance, are common in outpatient care. Most facilities offer multiple levels of care to accommodate clients' evolving needs, including intensive outpatient (IOP) and standard outpatient programming.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving support in a rehab aftercare program typically have abstained from drugs or alcohol for a period of weeks or months and have completed high-level (often inpatient) treatment. Drug rehab aftercare is designed to support clients in maintaining their sobriety as they re-engage with their ordinary lives at home, in the workplace, and in the community. Services are highly individualized and evolve with clients' changing needs, but generally include peer coaching and relapse prevention.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Typical cognitive behavioral therapy in Tennessee involves recognizing negative thinking and learning techniques to change that thinking and create new, positive behaviors. Strategies may include SMART goals, journaling, and situation exposure.

Counseling in Tennessee that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach can last from six to 12 months. During that time, you'll develop skills in the areas of distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy is a safe place to work through the lingering effects of traumatic events in your life. Your therapist will help you understand the physical and emotional responses that can develop after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. You then work toward developing healthier coping mechanisms to reduce your symptoms.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills training teaches you how to cope with challenging situations in non destructive ways. This crucial piece of drug rehab in Tennessee gives you tools for decision making, relationship building, and self care.

Many individuals who are experiencing addiction are extremely malnourished. This is due to negative patterns that develop during active addiction. Nutrition therapy helps break these negative patterns and teaches you to develop healthy ones that will help you sustain sobriety long term.

Recreational therapy supports addiction recovery by giving you structured activities that promote physical and mental health. These help build a supportive network of your peers that promotes sobriety. Activities can include sports, creative arts, and outdoor adventures that help you reduce cravings, manage stress, and give you an emotional outlet.

A wide range of therapeutic methods fall under the category of experiential therapy. Examples include drama therapy, animal assisted therapy, wilderness therapy, music therapy, and martial arts. Each of these offers an experience that allows the individual to express themselves and work through their emotions and experiences.

LISTEN PEOPLE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This place is a scam making sick people sicker. The office is horribly ran, the people they hire are rude, disrespectful, and smell like weed. The doctors will not listen to your concerns and push more meds on you to shut you up. You try to enroll in therapy along with your medication, and they cancel your appointments the day of or you show up and find out your therapist quit. (Yes this happened over and over). I finally went and got a second opinion and found out I was being grossly over medicated and it has now been over a year and I feel amazing! I would probably be dead if I was still going here. I promise, if you want healing, do not go here. If you want to stay sick and medicated, this might be your place. Yes, they are still gaslighting, look at their reply. All of my records (yes I kept everything) reflect what actually happened. I can name the therapists that quit without notice because of the horribly ran practice. If I were you I would look at the 100s of stories from this office and trust those over this money hungry business. Look on Facebook, Glassdoor, all of the review platforms, it is disgusting how many people were treated like this. I got a second and third opinion and absolutely should not have been prescribed what I was. I just hope people coming in who are not in a good place read this and find an office who puts their patients over profit. Good luck, YOU can do this!

Dr. Meadows is amazing he’s caring and he listens. His staff Tasha and Sharrell are amazing! On any given day you can see Tasha working hard walking fast getting patients in and out of triage and Sherrell is kind hearted and she recognizes me anytime I come through that door. I absolutely adore them because they are extremely busy but they make it work and I’ve never felt like a number here! They are top notch in that facility and I recommend everyone to them every chance I get!

This place is just a giant waiting game. They schedule day of appointments squeezing every appointment they can in. Health quest has no issues having patients waiting 45 minutes for vitals and 2+ hours for a “brief” 10 minute visit. Also you’ll be charged if you are more than 15 minutes late

I’m so sorry I gave this place as high as a 1, but that’s the only thing I could do. I called to make an appointment with Health Quest. I specifically asked for an appointment with a Psychiatrist (MD). They said it would be no problem. I made the appointment. I again asked, before we hung up, now this is an appointment with a Psychiatrist? They said yes. When I arrived at my appointment they said I had an appointment with Lisa. I responded “I. Do. NOT.” Lisa’s credentials seem quite good, but she is not a Psychiatrist. I accused them of bait and switch. Baiting me with a Psychiatrist appointment only to lie and switch me to an appointment with a Psych Nurse. Totally unethical behavior! One more thing, their office is heavily perfumed. My lungs cannot tolerate scented products. This office smelled worse than a crowed funeral on a hot summer day with no a/c. By the time I left the office I had no voice left and my breathing was labored.

I love my doctor. Dr. Meadows is beyond amazing & has tremendously helped me, but this office is absolutely terrible. Every single appointment, there will be a hour wait. Every. Single. One. They don’t answer the pharmacy’s requests for refills. They don’t get them submitted in time. They RARELY answer the phone & when you do, half the time the staff has a bad attitude. My last conversation I explained how my pharmacy had been contacting them for me to get authorized for my meds (because the office scheduled my appts too far, so i ran out of my medicine, another mistake on their end) & the staff member i spoke to told me it would take a few days to get help, even though I told her I had ran out. Plus, me & the pharmacy had been trying to contact them for about a week. You can’t just let people run out of their psych medicines. Again, my doctor is great, but the staff is just terrible to work with. It’s so bad, in spite of me loving my doctor, I will have to switch providers due to a severe lack of professionalism.
