About Living Waters Drop In Center

The Living Waters Outreach Ministry of Baton Rouge is a Christian ministry on a mission to provide men and women with the tools needed to break free from alcohol, substance and gambling addictions. In northeastern Baton Rouge, Louisiana, they operate a transitional housing space that’s open to men aged 18 and older.

Safety and Compassion When You Need It

This drop in center provides a safe place to sleep, hot showers and meals in the mornings and evenings. They also have staff who monitor the facility, keeping the environment safe and offering a measure of accountability. Though they do run the place primarily on donations, they require a nominal fee per night (in cash) and require that those seeking shelter pass a breathalyzer test before coming in.

Connecting You To Recovery Resources

In addition to the drop in center, The Living Waters offers an intensive outpatient program that can be tailored to your specific needs and help you overcome your addiction. The program is also quite comprehensive, helping to heal physical, mental and spiritual aspects of your life that may have been harmed by drug or alcohol addiction.

When no other shelter answered their phones, Living Waters Drop In Center did answer, and provided a bed for my uncle. Thanking Jehovah in Jesus name.

The facility is decent but is infested with bedbugs. It is disturbing to see this many bedbugs crawling on you while you are sleeping. I doubt they have anyone come by to spray for pests.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

Alcoholism - also known as alcohol use disorder (AUD), alcohol dependence, and alcohol addiction - is a chronic condition that describes a form of problem drinking that causes harm to a person's health and relationships. To treat AUD, alcohol rehab in Louisiana is usually necessary. This typically involves three phases: medical detox to safely withdraw from alcohol, rehabilitation through evidence-based therapies, and support for long-term recovery maintenance.

While each drug rehab in Louisiana offers unique elements, recovery support often follows a similar pattern. Detox is followed by inpatient and/or outpatient care, then aftercare support is provided once the participant completes the initial program.

Specialized substance abuse treatment programs in Louisiana can address addiction and any co-occurring mental health disorders. These programs offer a range of care options, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization programs. Expert clinicians utilize evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy to address substance abuse and promote mental health. Other recovery supports include 12-Step meetings, skills workshops, psychoeducation, and an aftercare plan to enhance your chances of long-term recovery.
