About Baptist Health-Van Buren

Most people who enter this program stay for about 72 hours. I like that this program allows you to withdraw in a safe, supervised environment. During your time here, you’ll be cared for around the clock by a multidisciplinary team of doctors and nurses who are experienced in managing withdrawal.

A unique feature of their service is that they’ll involve you in every step of your care. You’ll be an active part of the process and you’ll have the final say over your discharge procedures.

The loved one of a former client says that he received compassionate care through this withdrawal program. They appreciated that he was able to stay at the hospital long enough for his family to arrange a transfer to a long term rehab center.

Edit: Doctors name was Dr. Bolt. Will never go back to this bandaid shop of a hospital again. I was there the other night because I was dealing with a kidney stone/UTI and was suddenly having insane pain despite being on pain killers. I just wanted some blood work done to check the infection and a CT to get a view on if the stone was even moving. All they did was one urine sample. No bloodwork and the doctor basically refused to give me a CT siting "too much radiation" which literally just isn't true. So I got sent home with no real answered other then the UTI wasn't gone so they gave me antibiotics. Next morning I go to mercy ER and am almost immediately admitted because my condition was so bad. Turns out my stone had not moved, had actually gotten bigger, my infection was much worse, and was basically told if I waited any longer I would have likely gone septic. But no, baptist thought I was fine. Will never go back.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Clients undergoing treatment at an inpatient rehab receive extensive therapeutic support through daily addiction counseling and recovery-focused services. These often include addiction education and life skills training. Many inpatient facilities also offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as massage, yoga, acupuncture, creative arts therapy, and experiential therapy. Inpatient care is typically best suited for clients who recently completed detox, are in early recovery, or at a heightened risk of relapse.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Clients in addiction recovery typically require robust, ongoing support, which rehab aftercare programs are designed to provide. These programs are premised on the idea that clients' mental, emotional, physical, social, and financial wellbeing is essential to recovery. Clients collaborate with their case managers and addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services they will need to thrive while in recovery. Clients may receive peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

The process of a medically assisted detox is when all addictive substances are removed from your body. Usually performed in an inpatient setting, you are under the 24/7 care of licensed medical medical professionals who keep you safe and comfortable during the detoxification. Medications are often administered to help alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms. The process can vary in length, but it typically takes 5-7 days.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

One of the most common types of psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy in Arkansas is an effective tool for the treatment of substance use disorder. It is a common therapeutic method that is used to treat a variety of mental and behavioral health challenges.

Group therapy offers men and women the opportunity to learn essential coping skills from their peers who have practiced these skills in the community. You learn new communication techniques and relapse prevention strategies that promote sobriety and sustainable recovery.

Individual therapy gives men and women in Arkansas the chance to engage in one on one therapy sessions that focus on identifying personal triggers and high risk situations for drug and alcohol addiction. Your therapist works together with you to develop coping strategies and build resilience that promotes sustainable recovery.

The goal of trauma therapy is to address the lingering mental, emotional, and physical lingering effects of a traumatic event. Your therapist helps you process this trauma and build resilience to face future challenges.

If you participate in couples therapy, your therapist may use one or more methods to help you improve communication and resolve conflict. These techniques can include emotionally focused therapy, psychodynamic couple's therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Families in Arkansas use family therapy to enhance communication and understand the effect that addiction has on family members. The goal is to help members identify and modify negative behaviors and create a more cohesive and supportive environment that is conducive to recovery.

My first visit there for the flu last year was fine and fast not issues. I come in for dehydration and confirmed my pregnancy at the time for another visit it was okay nothing g to write home about. My last visit there they literally only checked my Blood pressure saying “you can’t possibly be dehydrated your BP is fine.” I was about 6 months pregnant at this point and couldn’t keep water down, throwing up stomach acid and in a lot of abdominal pain. I get dehydrated very easily during pregnancy as my last pregnancy I had to go to the hospital 2-3 times for dehydration and then while in labor they had to keep me in a iv due to being dehydrated. I ended up passing out at a park a few days later and when I thought I was gonna have to go to this hospital I started having a panic attack because I didn’t want to be told it was all in my head and not be checked out properly.

I had an injury and went in thinking I broke a bone or worse. Everyone was very friendly. The doctor was quick, friendly and compassionate. Nurse Melissa was very attentive and kind. She made me less nervous about the pain and explained everything really well. Compassionate care is very important when you’re experiencing any type of emergency and I am thankful for the care I received.

Response from the owner
Christy, thank you for sharing your experience with us! We appreciate the opportunity to care for you.

I like going here for ER because it's not a big wait and the staff is usually very nice. I just wish they had more resources here. Everything is either sent to Fayetteville or mercy.

Response from the owner
Hi Jennifer, we appreciate your feedback about our ER services. We're happy to hear that you've had positive encounters with our staff and found the wait times manageable. We take your remarks about resources very seriously and appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

It is unfornate that the staff at the Van Buren Baptist Hospital is lazy, un sanitary, it is not clean. I had to do a lot and contactable asked for bed pan blankets. Came in at 630 am with 4 people already here with only 1 doctor on staff. They did a shift change so the doctor on said well I leave at 7 I guess I can see her. He never came in room and left. The next doctor FINALLY came in at 7:30. My wife was peeing and pooping blood and in a turmendouse amount of pain. At 830 they finally gave her pain meds. This Baptist Hospital needs to be closed. One patient came in with hurt foot and leg and got blood all over his room the bathroom and all ove the floor. I had to go get the nurse twice to clean it up. Heneven got it on the bathroom door. I cleaned it up as i took my wife to the bathroom. We were not happy at all with this Hospital. They are under staffed with nurses and doctors at the Van Buren hospital. I understand the medical world is short staffed but most hospitals are not anymore. No janitorial service. The 3 nurses just sat in their station talking and giggling. I had to keep going and getting them. I had to keep asking whatbthe treatment was going to be. The security officer stayed in his office and never came out of it at all. Never been to a hospital before with out seeing the security right at the emergency room check in. It is a shame. People just don't want to work anymore sad.
