!!!!BEWARE!!! Some of the dumbest doctors I’ve ever met in my life. My pregnant wife went into the emergency room due to her epilepsy that she has been diagnosed with by two separate doctors in the past. She had a total of 43 seizures while she was in the hospital. The doctors put her on seizure medicine and then took her off seizure medicine because of their misdiagnosis of thinking she does not have epilepsy due to little brain activity while having a seizure. She was severely dehydrated and I tried to tell the doctors that so they gave her one IV bag which, of course, is not enough for someone that has Pee that is almost the color of sweet tea. Since they did not want to do their job, I told my wife that it was up to she and I to get her hydrated so I had her chug as many Stanleys as she could, and that helped calm the seizures down. This hospital is an absolute joke and I’m going to work on reporting all of the doctors that misdiagnosed her off of their five minutes of studying her charts. She’s had seizures for six years now and they tried to label them as “fake seizures.” we called her neurologist that she’s been doing in the past and he called that an absolute joke. Oh yeah, and one of the nurses laughed at my wife when the doctor came in and tried to say she had fake seizures. Very young doctors here with little experience and they make their quick judgment directly out of their medical books. Also, for some reason, they only did a 10 minute MRI on her when those usually take 30 to 45 minutes. We will never come back to this hospital again in our lives. She also has an extra X chromosome, which her actual neurologist said, proves right there that she does have epilepsy. The doctors put her on two different kinds of seizure medicines at the same time and then when this idiotic neurologist made the assumption that these were fake seizures, they yanked the seizure medicine from her, and then she had four more seizures after. I assume because she had seizures while being on the seizure medicine and they saw very low EEG activity that she has “ PNES” her actual neurologist thinks is an absolute joke. We will be reporting all of these doctors. We also had a horrible experience at this hospital when my wife gave birth to our two-year-old son. This hospital has very low expectations for their medical staff!!!! !!!!BEWARE!!!

Accepted Insurance

Northside Hospital Forsyth works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Program for Substance Use (IOP) is a time-limited, multifaceted treatment service for adults requiring structure and support for recovering from substance related disorders. This program includes: state of art co-occurring disorder treatment, didactic presentations and psychoeducational information, psychiatric services, intensive individual therapy, group therapy and family counseling. Each client has an individualized recovery plan that includes a full continuum of services within a single system.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Top notch care! Every single person I interacted with was so incredibly nice and compassionate. There's a hospital closer to my house, but I'll keep going to this one because of the staff.

Pros All of the medical staff were kind, knowledgeable, and wonderful. Cons The food was horrendous. The cafeteria even during open hours had multiple stations shut down and prepared and warm food. The only good thing was the French toast sticks. The black forest cake was a travesty.

Went to ER in Sept of 2024 recommended by urgent care Dr due to dizziness, chest pain, blood tests came back abnormal and high blood pressure. After 6 hours in ER, Dr. came back and said everything looked fine and nothing to be concerned about. He even said they must've mixed my blood sample up with someone else's at Urgent Care office. I couldn't believe he said that, neither could my friend with me. Fast forward to May 2025. I was still having these symptoms and getting worse. Went to Braselton ER on May 4th and I was having mini heart attacks for a year!!!! A year!!!!! Needed a stent and feel 100% better. I will never go to this ER or hospital again. I will drive all the way to Braselton from now on. I could've died because the Dr. here was not a Cardiologist and did not order one to see me. Wanted me to go away. I paid $4500 with insurance for this kind of treatment that could've cost me my life. And had to pay deductible again this year for the same problem with the correct diagnosis and treatment. This mistake was a life a Dr. did not take seriously and just dismissed. No referrals...nothing!!!
