I have to be very honest . I give nurses absolutely 5 stars but the main reason I m giving 1 is because of my overall experience at this hospital when I was due for my baby, was unpleasant, stressful, emotional and tough. As a DEAF woman I was going for labor and delivery .I was being denied many times by the hospital not wanting to accommodate a sign language interpreter in person ALL DAY..Even my husband and I did let them know two days ahead!!!!!!!! . They KNEW very clear what day and TIME I was coming in for induce and getting ready for labor. They had plenty of time to plan and get a sign language interpreter. But they refused and the interpreter from the start was only set up for FEW hours .Whenever we arrived, They kept saying that they have iPad that equivalent that can assist communication. I had to repeatedly explain that s NOT same as having the live person sign language interpreter who can hear every thing in the room if something goes wrong. The iPad can get disconnected. When there are multiple nurses , doctor and chaos going around, the interpreter cannot grasp and hear everything on iPad to translate for me . It s extremely inconvenient. The hospital was basically refusing to accommodate my needs based on ADA American Disability ACT which is against the law. Continuing from day one I had to keep justifying how important it is for me to have my right . Imagine the day I m going to labor this is all happening .. it did put alot of mental pressure on my mind and body . It was very unnecessary. Sign language is very visual and you can t compare that to someone who speak Spanish on speaker or another spoken verbal language. It s not the same!Unfortunately I couldn t do natural birth and everything got messy and chaotic at the end and out of order . I was being put in for c section last minute. It was extremely stressful , overwhelming, devastating and I was distraught. I never experienced that amount of anxiety pressure hassle worry in hospital setting having to fight for my ADA right at the same time all of those happening .Throughout the day the interpreter ended up staying UNTIL certain time and that s because I had to keep saying that they can t deny my right With that being said , Not only having to fight that day of labor for my right . I had to AGAIN next day repeat myself until they understood . I was in PAIN and it was excruciating because of unexpected turn of c section, I was taken back how could hospital put me in this position and kept adding stress denying my right .Ofcourse after rightfully explaining so many times, I was given sign language interpreter for rest of my stay BUT it could have all been smooth from the start if they would have listened to me. So I would have had better birth with my sweet girl and better experience physically and emotionally mentally .Aside from that. My baby was put in NCUi and as you see more tension, worries was added and aside from going through pain not able to walk by myself with c section.. .This experience was unpleasant..I would NOT recommend a DEAF person going to this hospital.. I do wish that I would have not chosen this hospital to have my baby IF I knew it was going to be this difficult to get accommodation .. .. EVEN though I m thankful grateful my baby is ok. .I thank Jesus Christ , GOD and the holy spirit . It would have been just nice to have a better experience there. Unfortunately that was not the case .

Accepted Insurance

Northside Hospital Forsyth works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Program for Substance Use (IOP) is a time-limited, multifaceted treatment service for adults requiring structure and support for recovering from substance related disorders. This program includes: state of art co-occurring disorder treatment, didactic presentations and psychoeducational information, psychiatric services, intensive individual therapy, group therapy and family counseling. Each client has an individualized recovery plan that includes a full continuum of services within a single system.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

My mother in law spent time in ICU and the staff was very attentive. They took the time to explain what they were doing and address our concerns. We were very pleased with our experience

Another mixed review. Everything has been top notch in the 4 days we have been here. The ED was efficient and did their tests in a very timely manner, we were admitted quickly, the staff has been friendly, compassionate and kind. The food is good, even the cleaning staff and food delivery are friendly and always ask if we need anything. But then............discharge day. We KNOW he is being discharged today, we know that Physical Therapy has said he is okay to go, we know there are no further tests. But we DON'T know where we are in the process...is the doctor going to come in and write the discharge order in 30 minutes, 2 hours, 6 hours, midnight? Once the orders are written, will it take 30 minutes, 5 hours, 2 days to do the paperwork? Wouldn't it make sense when the doctors make rounds to see those patients first who are going to be discharged, before seeing patients who AREN'T going home today? When everyone works so hard to provide a good experience for their patients, why ruin it with a disorganized discharge procedure? Chick-fil-a should be hired to manage discharges and we would all be happy!!! Update...at 11:45 the doctor came in and said he could go home. Her exact words....give me 30-45 minutes to write the order. 90 minutes later, I ask the nurse to call her. The answer? Oh, I'm still doing rounds and then I'll start my charting. Why did she lie in the first place? Because she doesn't give a damn.

People are born here and die here. Its crazy that this is a baby factory. Seriously, tons of kids are born here every year. I usually go for ear cleaning as they have a great ENT specialist. There are other departments here too. I still miss when they did the Christmas tree lighting and party here.

My only complaint is with the IT department. All of my care during a 5 days ER admission was great. I have been discharged for 2 weeks and still cannot get the IT department to allow me access to the My One Chart feature. Not all of my MD's are in Northside's system. I really need to be able to see the test results, ie labs and CT report. I have called multiple times and emailed multiple times and they just ignore both. Edit: After speaking with the Patient Affairs Dept I finally received a call from the IT person. She was able to fix the problem in less than a minute. Lots of frustration for something that was easy once you could talk to someone.

My experience at Northside Forsyth has been excellent. I had no prior involvement with the location or with general illness. Then suddenly I was forced into a serious medical and surgical emergency that put me under their care for several weeks. I was lucky to be near this hospital when things went bad. Everyone was so very kind to me. They took great care of this senior.

We brought our 22 year old son, who is normally a very healthy young man here 2x due to uncontrolled vomiting. The 1st visit was to the ER. They hydrated him, gave him sone Zofran and out we went. Hours later, we were back. This time, my son's eyes were yellowish and his skin was also. Since it was our 2nd time there, Dr. Child's admitted him to the 5th floor due to his bilurrubin being sky high . They made us feel comfortable and still do. 1 week after being admitted, my son is STILL vomiting. What is my complaint? I dont know what the doctors are doing? Yesterday was endoscopy day, which revealed nothing. Blood tests, negative on bacteria and viruses. Today they came in 5 times to draw blood and we STILL dont know why. They have started him on different antibiotics, but we are not being told why what and when. All we want is for a doctor to come and tell us what is being done! I know for a fact this bill is going to be well over 20k dollars and they gonna want their money right then and there. We want answers, we want to know the plan. What has been ruled out? Oh, have yall done the Lyme desease test i asked to have done? Why haven't a scan been done on his brain? If everything else is checking out, why are we not making moves to the next process.

Nice hospital and friendly staff. Need better directional signs for getting to rooms in the women’s center building . Everyone has to bother the staff. It’s a know oversight. And what’s up with the vaginal opening concrete posts in front of the door? LOL

This hospital has set the standard for how I want and hope to be treated at an emergency room. My son had a abrasion on his eye so it wasn't life threatening but I didn't want to wait until the next day and risk his vision, so I begrudgingly took him in expecting to be there all night. I was in and out in an hour and a half! On a Friday evening at that. The staff were ALL friendly and helpful. There is a special waiting room for kids that had comfy chairs and its own television. My son was called into a room very quickly and a provider came into quickly as well. As we were leaving the officers up front offered to keep an eye on my two kids while I retrieved my car because they could see I was alone. 10/10 experience. This was not a fluke bc the waiting room was pretty full but this ED has a good system and a great staff!!
