My father got there 8.13.2025. He was suppose to be bathed on thursday and mondays.. today is saturday and nothing.. not even wiped down like a sponge bath. I was there today for 4 hrs and barley saw the staff. I had to ask for a broom to sweep his room and a blanket because there was not one on his bed. I didn't hear great things about this place. He's suppose to be transfered for dialysis on tuesday and thursday. They woke him up at 6am, got him ready satirday mornkng and he sat in the lobby and was never picked up or scheduled for saturday. Its now 8pm and we have no answers about saturday dialysis. Will updated after another week.

Stay far away from this place it is nothing less than a prison you have no rights you are treated like a nuisance they are incompetent and lazy probably one of the most traumatic experiences I’ve had with psychiatric care they should be ashamed of themselves

The only thing good about this place is the physical therapy and the day shift staff. If you have a loved one in here for long term care or for short term rehabilitation just know that the night shift staff does not care enough to assist their patients in a timely manner at all. My brother-in-law was here for a little over 3 weeks for rehabilitation after being in the hospital for 5 days and having chemotherapy he needed some rehabilitation and this was an option because we knew the physical therapy was good. However, had we known how he would have been treated this would not have been our option. They would shut off his call light (he has been handicapped for over 2 decades as is), they bluntly told me their patients have to suffer because they are short staffed, they tried to completely take his liquid pain medication off his chart for no reason then the day nurses were shocked because they knew he absolutely needed it and whoever took it off his chart wasn't even anyone who they knew the name that did it. In the 3 weeks that he was there they only changed his bedding 2 times and would only allow him 2 showers in 21 days. Neglect is really the best word to describe this whole situation.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

8 years later I am MORE suicidal than EVER and psych hospitals turn me away when I'm suicidal SCARY. After 5 years extreme poverty, will Raval help me find a job after ruining my life and helping my parents abuse and abandon me? In the first time I was in a psych hospital I wasn't actually suicidal and the invega ruined my life and made me suicidal. Watching the secret scripture and trying to not kill myself.

I was hospitalized in white pines adolescent psych unit when I was 13, I’m now 24. The day shift staff was fantastic, I remember them all very well, but night shift nurses were horrifying, I will never forget my first night being completely asleep and being woken up to a night shift nursing taking my blood. It’s still horrifying to think about. Another night I was very sick, a few of us girls had caught the stomach flu, I was so sick, crying in the middle of the night needing help, I was yelled at and told to go back to sleep and then in the morning they still made us get up when we needed rest. This isn’t a place I would recommend taking a family member, there are a lot of other hospitals for mental health such as Cedar creek in St. John’s. They also strip searched me as a minor, this is something ALOT of other places DO NOT do.

I recommend not using them because they switch your words around make things seem like you said when you didn't make you think things that are going to happen and they don't whether you have legal matters going on or not they don't care about that so just be careful if you do a petition and what you say on it because they will switch your words around and they will make it seem like something you're not making it legal matters or not I would not recommend this place nor the hospital that took him there

I came to Health Source Saginaw for PT and OT. The staff were AMAZING! The Beaches Unit nursing staff were compassionate, attentive, and fun. Lexi and Lori helped build my confidence, and got me strong enough to go home. Dr. Duffy listened to my concerns and made adjustments as needed. I recommend them to any one who needs intensive therapy to regain mobility. Thank you Health Source!

I was sent here the night after I attempted suicide at age 14 and I’m only now, as an adult many years later, realizing how bad White Pine is (or was.) To start, the “care” you receive just means they leave you in a room with a glorified babysitter ill-equipped to protect these kids from themselves and from others by means other than tranquilizer shots, which kids colloquially titled “booty darts.” In the time I was there, I witnessed several physical fights and probably spent more time hiding under a table or sitting in a corner than I ever did receiving help. When they did bother to treat you, it was by sending you to a psychiatrist who acted like they’d rather be doing anything else than talking to you. To their credit, they correctly identified the prescription I needed as Prozac, however they prescribed it in 80mg per day right off the bat, which is the maximum dosage usually recommended for ADULTS. I was a 5’2 barely-teenaged ball of tears and rage being treated, medically speaking, like an adult. Other treatment included group “therapy” where no one was keen on honesty because you’d look like a coward in front of the big kids or be stuck in this prison longer if you got too honest. Speaking of, I had been keen on starving myself the first few days I was there, but more helpful than the coercion, threats or ‘help’ from any staff or therapist was other kids telling me if I refused to eat, the staff would keep me here longer. Honestly, I think I got more help from my roommate and two or three friends than I ever did the staff. I couldn’t tell you if this place has changed - the fact that they seem to have wiped all traces of the name “White Pine” from the internet and replaced it with “Healthsource” would indicate not - but either way, I beg any parent who may be reading this to do. Your. Research before you send your kid ANYWHERE, especially for medical care and ESPECIALLY when they are in a mentally fragile state. TL;DR: White Pine messed me up more than it helped me half a decade ago.

While some units actually care about the resident here on the wheels unit the staff are not only incompetent but lazy and rude. From day one I have had staff leave full urinals on my table, tell me they will be back and never do, even when I hit my call light I've had a wait time of an hour before someone came in to check on me, and meds hours behind schedule.

I was here again but this time I was volunteered in. March,8-19,2025. Let's see how this step down CRU is all about that they had me go to. Health source has changed they separated boys and girls. The boys are allowed to walk 3 halls and the girls only have one hall to walk. Complete favoritism. So they let a fight happen the day after I left. A transgender was also being bullied to the point she cut her wrist. And from what I was told the staff let it happen. I'm not sure how true it is. Courtney and Dr Movva are real good. Some of the newer staff are kind and caring. Thank you the therapist Renee and Dr Rao and the staff for being there! You guys are all wonderful and treatment was good! I really enjoyed being there! Miss u all November, 2021. Rachel

Not a bad place however Dr. Kahn Attif provided Me with a Risperdal injection with little to no consult, the injection was rushed and I have experienced terrible complications from this "treatment". My primary Doctor feels this was an egregious violation of medical practices and the Do No Harm, Do Know Harm conscripts of Medical practices. I also found Dr. Kahn argumentive, condescending and abusive in My contact's with Him. This leads Me to wonder where in the Hell did You find this "Doctor"? I'm positive that I'm not His only victim.
