I am mad that they wouldn't let me come and stay there for a week when I was upset. I had a busted commode and I had to poop in a bucket and throw it out in my yard and my neighbors were complaining about the smell. So I needed to go there and stay a week while I find someone to fix my busted commode and they said I didn't meet criteria for admission.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

When you enter 24-hour clinical care in West Virginia, you gain access to a comprehensive team of professionals who are on-call to help you in your recovery. Nurses and doctors can help you through detox by managing withdrawal using medication and other clinical treatment. For psychological withdrawal and other mental health concerns, counselors are available. This on-site care is designed to meet all physical, mental, and emotional needs.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug addiction causes psychological and physical damage through repeated and uncontrollable use of substances. Drug rehab in West Virginia focuses on providing a full continuum of care, from detox to aftercare, and treatment can take place in outpatient or inpatient settings, based on your needs.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Using recreational therapy, you engage in activities that support your mental and physical health. These activities may include yoga, team sports, and creative arts that help improve your mood and build a supportive community of your peers that promotes long term sobriety.

If you have any other option, use them. This place only cares about money, not the patients. In August of 2022, I had a mental hygiene order done on me. I was brought here for "evaluation." When I first arrived I was told I would be here over the weekend, and would probably be released on Monday. Monday came, and I was told the doctor was on vacation, and so I would have to wait a week. This turned into the full 21 days that they are allowed to keep someone, before they have to do another hearing. This is because this hospital gets paid by the number of patients they have. It's in their best interest to keep people here. While I was in here, they continually tried to force medication on me. I was told that I would never be released if I didn't take medication. I told the doctor I would only take natural medicine. This doctor's name was Stephanie Gao. She told me she would prescribe me valerian root, and I agreed to take that. She lied. I was not allowed to see the medication, I just had to take it. I did not like the way it made me feel, and I expressed that. I was told it needed time to take effect. It changed the way I thought, slowing me down, and making me confused. My nurse told me that it was depakote, and it wasn't valerian root. I was lied to constantly in this place. I am also a vegetarian. It was a constant battle trying to get them to give me vegetarian meals. In the 3 weeks I was there, I went hungry more days than I ate. I dropped from 160, to 140 pounds because of this. Most of the time they wouldn't let us go to the cafeteria, and would deliver meals to the ward. Every time they did this, they brought me food I couldn't eat. We were not allowed any access to cell phones, or any kind of electronic device. There was one single TV in the day room for entertainment. My parents brought magazines and cards, which promptly disappeared. The nurses will check on you every time you are showering. They do not treat you like a person. I am a disabled veteran, and I was in this hospital for 14 days before they finally believed me, that I was in fact a veteran. While I was there, I saw them constantly holding people down, and forcibly sedating them. Almost every person that was in there with me, was a walking drugged out zombie. Most had no idea when they would, or if they would, be released. When I was released I went to the VA and got evaluated, and was told immediately that I was fine. My attorney went back and looked at everything involved in my hearing for the mental hygiene order, and found it was all nonsense. It has since been removed from my record. They will do anything they can to keep you; so they can get paid. Since I was released, I have been plagued by PTSD nightmares, and a distrust for this system. If you love your family and friends, do not send them to this place.

Terrible place. They refused to let me leave until threatened with police by my mother and my roommate had a weapon brought in which she made with sharpened tweezers broken in half.. they did nothing obviously but somehow let her in my stuff where she hid the weapon in my bag before I left. I found it when I got home. And the older male Doctor was weird and told me I don’t have friends and won’t have any because I don’t prefer eye contact. They have no idea what they are talking about and don’t care about the kids. There was an 8 year old on my unit with 16-17 year olds. Allowed an adult male to call one child “daddy” while he was eating THEN locked the food court doors. Terrible. TERRIBLE. After explaining my food and body issues the nutritionist told me my weight is fine so I don’t need to worry about it..NEVER SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!! I’m 19 now but was 16 when I went and it was hell.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
