About Covenant Counseling and Education Center

Covenant Counseling and Education Center is on Lakeshore Drive in Birmingham, Alabama. They offer counseling services and education classes for those experiencing various mental health conditions and addiction.

They specialize in working one on one with individuals and in providing family counseling and treatment options for those affected by alcohol abuse or other substance abuse. I find it good to know that they are a Christian based practice and are therefore faith driven in their approach to counseling.

Faith Driven Family, Individual and Couples Therapy

In addition to family and individual counseling, they also offer couples counseling to assist in healing broken or damaged relationships among couples or parents. I find it good to know that they will first address any traumatic events you have faced as a couple and help you work through those roadblocks or barriers through talk therapy and activities.

They also focus on the importance of remaining faithful in a marriage or committed relationship and will provide you with the necessary tools for healing from infidelity.

Various Mental Health Treatments Including ADHD and Eating Disorders

I like that they also treat many other mental health conditions that may be impacting your progress towards sobriety including depression and anxiety, obsessions and compulsions, fear and phobias and conditions like ADHD and eating disorders.

I cannot recommend Kara Jones enough. She has counseled me for 3.5 years now and has played a paramount role in helping me recover from domestic abuse both from my family of origin and in my marriage. Kara has empowered me, cried tears of sadness and joy with me, and encouraged me in the Lord. The office staff have also been wonderful, kind, and compassionate. The one time they made a mistake in my scheduling, they went above and beyond to make it up to me and waived the fee. Kara has now recommended Hunter for one of my children and I have met with him. My son will start with him next week and I think he will do great with him, but stay tuned for an update. Covenant Counseling has been a safe haven for me and I cannot recommend it enough.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.
