About Roxbury Treatment Center

Inpatient treatment begins with medical detox where substances are safely and comfortably removed from the body. Sublocade, Vivitrol, and oral Naltrexone are also used as medication-assisted treatment for individuals who need to continue to block drug cravings and need this tool to help sustain recovery long-term. Treatment also includes a combination of individual and group counseling, psychoeducation, 12-step meetings, yoga, meditation, relaxation groups, and psychiatric medication management.

The inpatient psychiatric programs include evaluation, medication-assisted stabilization, medication management and education, medical examination, therapeutic groups and activities with a small group focus, recreational therapies including art and music, and crisis planning.

The IOP meets three times per week for three hours at a time and typically lasts for six weeks. The standard outpatient program includes one session of group therapy a week for 90 minutes. This program typically lasts between eight and 12 weeks. Groups focus on ways to maintain sobriety.

My husband is currently in treatment here and I have tried to visit him twice. They wouldn't let my children see their father who has been there for over a week now. They don't really seem to care about the mental health of the patients by keeping their loved ones away. I also have only talked to a case worker once when he first arrived there. I would not willing let anyone be placed here. If I would have know the place was more like a prison than a mental health facility I would have never let them take my husband there.

I've been to Roxbury in the past deviated with a couple of patients acting like fools like they were staff pretty much ok but attitudes as well I understand that they were trying to do their jobs in trying to keep everyone safe but they are also there to talk to people not to let other patients pass gass right behind you in the medication line or right in your face or put their fist in your face like one male patient did, that mail patient was lucky I was being discharged yesterday when he did that to me and I was in line getting my medication when this happened I am not the type to get ticked off about it but I was already ticked off to begin with

Accepted Insurance

Roxbury Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab provides clients with an opportunity to focus solely on their sobriety away from the stressors of the home and workplace. Clients receive housing, food, and intensive clinical supervision. They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

In Pennsylvania, substance abuse treatment programs can help address addiction and any co-occurring mental health problems. These programs incorporate evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychoeducation to help you uncover the underlying causes for your substance use and develop new skills to help you manage stress and overcome future triggers which may challenge your sobriety.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
teen-program thumbnail image

Teen Program

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Incorporating recreational therapy into drug and alcohol addiction programs in Pennsylvania helps you rebuild your life and maintain sobriety by discovering new interests and developing healthy coping mechanisms. Recreational activities can include painting, team sports, and hiking to promote physical and mental health.

They say they accept "For our Psychiatric Hospital, most admissions occur after a professional referral is made by a crisis worker, social worker, or other clinician." But will not accept one from my clinical or social worker this is false advertising , I will file complaint with the AG of Pa and with Medicare. The treatment I got on the phone was awful I could imagine being inpatient.

**** NEW UPDATED REVIEW **** Do not go there unless you have no choice!!! I had all my belongings with me because I had no where I could leave them, I went in with multiple bags, but my most expensive one was stolen by staff, with a big stash of nicotine pouches ( roughly $300 of them), 2 samsung galaxy tablets one a couple years old but the other one was a BRAND NEW 12inch tablet the size of a laptop. And to make matters worse, for hours before I left ( to transfer to another facility because Roxbury was a shit show full of patients having sex and getting high) there was multiple staff some of them high up the ladder acknowledging that the bag came in with me and now it's missing, there was even the C.A. Who checked in my property, Kristy, who remembered the bag. Yet 2 weeks later while I'm calling repeatedly to get news of the bag, whether it was found or if I would get reimbursed, I had some for of management telling me that no one in the building has ever seen the bag and they can't do nothing for me because there's no proof it was ever there. The whole thing is absolutely insane, how the hell does staff steal property ranging from $1, 500 to $2,000 and they just cover it up. That's exactly why it's common for staff to steal patient property. They are not what they use to be, if you have any choice stay far far away from here.

If you have a teen who needs inpatient treatment, please send them somewhere else. I am an educated and supportive parent, who also works in healthcare and I found this facility to be extremely inadequate! The only reason I'm even giving 2 stars is because there were a few nurses and techs that were kind and helpful. The admissions process was complete chaos, disorganized, and I counted at least 3 HIPPA violations. This facility is a far cry from a "treatment" center. Group sessions were not helpful and there is no individual counseling provided - nothing therapeutic occurred during my daughter's stay. The lack of communication with the psychiatrist is disgraceful. I attempted to reach him 5 different times and not once during my daughter's 8 day stay did I ever get to speak to him to discuss the treatment plan and medication changes. (And yes I had consent to speak to the Dr.) Imagine your child being in the hospital and never getting to talk to their doctor!! That is not acceptable! Everything happens at a snails pace, so expect an admission that exceeds the length of stay that's actually needed. I also found it VERY concerning that visitors are not "wanded" or searched before family visitation. Anything could be brought into the facility and handed off to a patient to use as a weapon once they return to their unit. That is so scary!!! The bottom line - this is an old facility that is understaffed, poorly communicates, lacks adequate therapeutic programming, and has questionable safety protocols. The only recommendation I can give is...do not allow your teen to be sent there even if it's the only facility with a bed available. Stay in the ER until a bed opens up somewhere else.
