I had a very disappointing appointment with Jewel Harris. Her practices are nothing like her bio on psychology today describes. Throughout the entire visit, she kept her eyes on the computer screen, barely making eye contact, and seemed distracted as if she was doing other work. I took the time to share my full medical and mental health history, including which medications have worked for me in the past. Instead of listening or asking thoughtful questions, she treated me like I was being dishonest. She was cold, emotionless, and dismissive. After I spent nearly twenty minutes explaining everything, her only response was to give me three generic options and refuse to even consider the treatment I said had been effective before. I left the appointment feeling unheard, invalidated, and frustrated. This was one of the most impersonal and uncaring experiences I’ve ever had with a mental health professional. It felt like she was just there for a paycheck, not to actually help patients.

While my therapist, Allison Lovekay, is excellent, her work is consistently undermined by Mindpath's shockingly incompetent and frustrating administrative system. The organization itself has proven to be a significant barrier to receiving care, and my experience has been defined by their systemic failures. The administrative and operational issues are not isolated incidents; they are a pattern: Profoundly Poor Communication: Getting a clear or timely response is nearly impossible. Many of my messages have gone completely unanswered. When a reply does arrive—often taking up to two weeks—it frequently fails to address the actual concerns and simply attempts to pass me off to another person. Basic client preferences, like using email/text instead of phone calls, are consistently ignored. Critical Failures in Prescription Management: There have been many serious issues getting prescriptions filled correctly, sometimes leading to weeks without necessary medication. This has occurred even after multiple follow-ups from both myself and my pharmacist, which is a dangerous and unacceptable lapse in care. Confusing and Unfair Billing: The billing practices are opaque and concerning. I've faced unexplained charges, such as a recent $135 bill with no details provided. Worse, I was charged for an appointment where the provider was a no-show and have been refused a refund. Unprofessional Service Delivery: Punctuality and reliability are major issues. I have had multiple instances of providers being more than 15 minutes late for appointments, for which there has never been an apology or an offer of compensation. As a PhD who researches health services professionally, I can say with confidence that my experience with Mindpath's administration is among the worst I have ever encountered. For a mental health service, creating such a frustrating and complicated environment is inexcusable. Potential clients should be aware of these serious systemic problems before engaging with their services.

Do not use this service, the first meeting is $1,300, I was told I would receive a form to test for ADHD / depression .etc, however the form was not delivered before my second appointment, so I cancelled to prevent getting charged for TWO meetings without ever getting any sort of diagnosis. If you don't cancel before 24 hours you have to pay. My Dr struggled with her computer the entire first meeting and was only 1/2 paying attention. This service is $1,300 for a 15 minute session where the doctor is preoccupied the whole time. I can not stress enough that I was never diagnosed, the form never materialized so I spent all this money and received NOTHING. I was on a month long waiting list... Why not send me the mental diagnosis form as a prescreening so we can actually see progress the first meeting? Well they got their money, so I doubt they care. RUN AWAY EVEN WITH INSURANCE YOU ARE GOING TO PAY OUT THE WAZOO FOR SUBPAR SERVICE. If you feel depressed or have trouble concentrating tell your personal or family Dr, they can help you get with professionals that don't plan on stealing from you without services rendered.

Accepted Insurance

The Neuropsychiatric Clinic at Carolina Partners works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

This place is a complete scam. They won’t schedule you in person they always want to do online over camera appointments. My husband has struggled with this company many times. This last time he was almost out of medications, logged into the portal like normal to connect to the doctor for the appointment. It didn’t work so he called and they informed him it’s always been zoom. No it has NOT stop lying to him, now he’s going to run out of medicine while looking for a NEW doctor because your company FAILS to do its job. He logged into his portal clicked a button and was connected to the doctor, he never once had to download the actual app for zoom to connect to the doctor. You are treating patients with mental health disorders, and continue to let them fall through the cracks. You’re going to cause a mental health break with someone. This company is a scheme, more interested in the money than a therapeutic relationship with their patients. He began ultimately seeing someone in Raleigh, then once he left the office my husband got booted to a different doctor altogether from what the office is saying is located in asheboro which we don’t even live local to by any means, this is a complete joke. You are playing with people’s lives, like I mentioned these people have mental health disorders.
