About VICTORY FAMILY CENTER

Victory Family Recovery Center is located on Royder Street in Houston, Texas. It started out in 1992. They provide free substance use recovery centers for both men and women, with referral services to higher levels of treatment for co-occurring mental health and drug addictions.

Their main center is located in a residential-type setting, close to homes, restaurants and businesses. They are easily accessible via I-45 and I-610, providing transportation access to and from the facility. They are also close to natural landmarks including Smither Park, Keith Weiss Park and Evelyn’s Park.

Christian-Based Recovery Centers for Men and Women

To join their program, Victory requires an initial phone consultation to determine your eligibility. As a Christian-based organization they promote spiritual healing and recovery, in a home-like setting with residential amenities and support. They utilize biblical principles to promote and help you through your recovery.

Two-Phased Program Lasting 18 Months

Their main location is the men’s recovery center, which has been open since 1994. Their program offers a two-phased stay for those recovering from addiction, which totals about 18 months. They include daily worship and bible study activities, along with community outreach and activities to promote community integration, following the completion of your stay.

Facility Operations on Funding From Unique Banana Nut Bread Sales

Victory’s main source of funding for their program is earned through the sales of their Banana Nut Bread Ministry. Most of their sales go towards running their two recovery centers. They began baking and selling one of their clients’ grandmother’s banana nut bread to community members as a fundraising opportunity several years ago and now earn 85% of their donations from selling their treats. As a result of the generous donations, they recently built a new commercial bakery to support higher volumes of sales and donations.

If you are looking for recovery this will not be the place for you. Unless your are willing to participate in cult like behavior. I am speaking on firsthand experience. I would say more but i rather not, it is sad our pay tax dollars go to this program of women that do nothing with there lives but sell bread. Also it is a drug free zone but if you have been there for a few months you have access to prescriptions. my roommate Loraine who has been in recover for a while at the facility, she was treated with sonority as far having a phone and prescriptions . would be nodding off on her bunkbed and other women in facility would be stealing her medication (alex) from her drawer because she was incapacitated. I ran as soon as i could.

The banana bread is delicious and I fully support the cause being someone that has struggled with these issues in the past and has been able to recover only through God’s grace.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

Treatments

Alcoholism occurs when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on alcohol. Attending a professional alcohol rehab in Texas can provide customized intervention methods to address the physical, mental, and relational challenges of addiction.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Programs

Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
