I spent a full 90 days at this facility a few years back. Yes, It's an older building but as someone who has SEVERE allergies to everything (look up a condition called MCAS), I never had any issues with mold, bugs or anything while there. and I am really allergic to mold spores. I feel like these negative reviews are just childish. My family and friends were welcomed for visits. YES they do have to leave their phones outside of the facility but for obvious reasons, these rules are in place for a reason. I will say they made an exception for me within my first 30 days ( it's an expectation that you will not leave the facility without staff in your first 30 days) so I could attend my grandmother's funeral. I was part of the Client committee. I organized workouts and that was encouraged, I ran AA meetings on the weekends and fostered lasting relationships with a lot of the other women there that I still remain friends with today. Wayside is YES, an older building but it's not THAT old. Plus, if anything goes wrong they get it taken care of as soon as someone can come and fix it. If anyone has had a bad time at Wayside, it's either you were forced to go to treatment for legal reasons so you have a chip on your shoulder or you\re a prima-donna. There are motels I have stayed at that are 100 times worse than an older building that has normal wear and tear. Which requires maintenance. And they do report and schedule a fix as soon as it's possible for someone to get to the facility. Stop whining Signed, A Gen X'er

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Linden Oaks' Residential Stay Program offers additional support for those who may benefit from a structured living environment. A patient's stay may vary from a few days to 30 days ago. The program includes group, family and individual counseling.

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

People benefit from group therapy sessions that offer them the chance to learn and practice conflict resolution skills with their peers. This helps you recognize your strengths and capabilities, which boosts your self confidence as you work toward overcoming addiction and building a healthier lifestyle.

Qualified therapists in Minnesota offer individual therapy to men and women so they can receive customized care tailored to their needs. Your therapist works to understand your unique circumstances and provide you with targeted interventions and coping skills essential for long term recovery.

Families in Minnesota use family therapy to understand the roles they play in addiction. Each member plays a role and contributes to a pattern of behavior. Families learn to interact in healthier ways that support each other and contribute to their loved one's journey to recovery.

My daughter needed a residential treatment. We had a referral & i reached out to this facility multiple times asking for help because my daughter had just went through detox and she needed to get placed somewhere that could help her. They never once called her back. We're going on day 9 of me trying to place her in this facility ,said they were waiting on their clinical team to find out if she could be a resident there. Well, thanks for NEVER getting back to her!!! My 22 year old was begging for help! After research & this reading the reviews, Thank goodness this happened. I would never ever recommend this place. It's pretty dumpy looking too.

Response from the owner
We are truly so sorry to hear about your daughter’s experience — and about the added stress this must have caused during such a critical and vulnerable time. When someone is asking for help, especially after detox, timely communication is absolutely essential. We sincerely apologize that you did not receive a response. That is not the experience we want for anyone who reaches out to us.
Your daughter deserves support, and so do you as a parent advocating for her.

If you are still seeking placement, I would personally like to help. Please reach out directly to development@waysiderc.org, and I will ensure that someone connects with you promptly to review her situation and determine next steps. Even if circumstances have changed, we would still welcome the opportunity to assist in any way we can.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take feedback like this seriously and are committed to doing better.

Wishing your daughter strength and continued courage in her recovery journey.

Counselors are great!! I feel that some RAs are pretty good however I had an experience with hilary today and she wouldnt get off her cell phone to help me. I feel some of the RAs dont think about the fact the clients I can only speak for myself..... I am going thru mental health struggles on a daily and I have felt uncomfertable by what Tamara has said to me on two occasions. I am doing my best to stay in my own lane. But the should be held to a standard. They also go outside and smoke or vape for longer than 7 minutes together and the leave us unattended. I feel it could become unsafe. I brought this up to my counselor she said she would talk to her management about it. I will be aasking about it tomorrow and asking to talk to the management myself. I do really like the program and am learning a lot.

Response from the owner

Wayside is absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't recommend it, and they're staff is a joke. There's one good counselor there, actually 2. Kayla and Alexa. I'm not posting this out of anger or etc. Wayside is just not the place for someone planning on prolonging they're recovery.

Response from the owner
