My wife went to Flagler several months ago by the recommendation from someone working a hotline. My wife was actually calling looking for an AA meeting, she had never went to one in the past and he listened to her and told her he felt she needed more and then recommended Flagler. I'm giving Flagler only four stars not coming from a client's perspective but from a husband's perspective who was home several thousand miles away while my wife was in treatment. Because I've been attending help groups to understand my wife's addictions and how to appropriately respond to them I'm learning why Flagler does some of the things they do that being said I felt at times they don't do enough to support clients who have loving spouses that don't share the same addiction at home. What I mean is a client gets two 15-minute phone calls home a week and although I understand people go in with various levels of addiction, my spouse went in completely sober + from everything I've learned was a model client. 15 minutes twice a week is not enough time for a spouse to actively listen to how their spouse is doing in treatment and then share how things are going in the spouse's life at home and then to talk about things needed to be talked about in a marriage that's being handled while they are away. I found it impossible to get through or messages to her a couple of times she did not call home, due to scheduling conflicts and what not in treatment that I was unaware of. I was home waiting for that call in fear that I wasn't going to get it and have to wait four more days for the next call. The only way I was able to get messages to her to call home was through the person who recommended her to go there as he has access via email to the leadership team. You get phone numbers to call when the client gets there and calls home the first time before detox to I don't know what they're called but the people that are with her but then you can't get through to them and maybe they might return your call the next day. As a loving spouse I want to know that my wife is safe, is happy and is doing well more times than two times a week. In our case her therapist stepped away from the job for a couple weeks due to personal reason which is understandable but that caused several of the things that he promised me with her therapy to not happen. I also feel like they push on the clients so hard about making their sobriety the most important thing in their life they kind of make it sound like the spouse needs to go to their own support meetings and the client needs to go to their own AA and support meeting separately when in fact there are organizations like celebrate recovery who welcome both the client and the spouse if you want to attend. I do feel it's important that she have her own path to recovery for sure and I definitely would not want to interfere with that but I just feel like in a loving supportive marriage she can get the the best of both worlds. From what I understand the staff there is amazing all the staff that I dealt with has been completely amazing. My wife does say the food could be improved upon there, and I've read that in the reviews. All in all so far everything they taught my wife has been working wonderfully she has been doing well for the 6 weeks that she's been home she doesn't have any mind fog, her eyes are very clear + she appears to be on a very healthy track. So a big shout out and thank you to Flagler.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically choose inpatient rehab when they are in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that puts them at an increased risk of relapse. They reside at the treatment center for the length of their program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Intensive psychotherapy is often the primary treatment modality, but clients in inpatient care may also receive holistic treatment and recovery-focused life skills training.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Treatments

When a person has alcohol use disorder (AUD), also referred to as alcoholism or alcohol addiction, they experience withdrawal symptoms when they stop drinking. This physical dependence results from overuse of alcohol, which may be used as a coping mechanism or escape. Individuals who have AUD can overcome the alcohol addiction through alcohol rehab in Florida. This treatment process involves essential therapy and supports to help the individual achieve and maintain recovery.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

In Florida, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment treats mental health and substance use disorders concurrently to enhance successful recovery outcomes and improve overall health. Specialized rehab programs include medical detox, outpatient, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient programs. Using evidence-based therapies, like dialectical behavioral therapy or medication-assisted treatment, clinicians successfully treat dual-diagnosis addiction and mental health conditions. Other activities include group therapy and skills training, to equip you with the skills required to achieve and sustain your recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

Wow. All I can say is Flagler changed the trajectory of my life. When I went in, I had no reference point, no expectations of great food, a pool or any Type of resort style living because the purpose and goal for coming to treatment for ME was to regain MY PURPOSE, restore my spirit and obtain direction on how to live clean/sober life again. And Flagler did just EXACTLY that for me. I was greeted by an amazing BHT at the airport who made me feel safe, and comfortable and was so compassionate that he sat in the car while I cried before I went inside. I was prepared to stay AS LONG AS NECESSARY to be able to live and love life again. From the compassionate and caring nurses who encouraged me and made me laugh daily, to my therapist Emily, and to the collective of therapist like Trevor and team, who provided extended support and guidance. The Case Managers Sandy and D’Andria, the facilities Director Samantha, All of the BHT’s were awesome, and I was so grateful for them. To the SoBe chiropractic team and massage staff, to the additional support services, and Nurse Practitioner. Now to the group facilitators. David changed my life. He gave me a perspective on this disease of addiction and how we can become even greater; he restored my HOPE. Jonathan, and Rabbi were also amazing and they provided me with the necessary information, and tools regarding this disease and overall recovery process. Overall the collaborative care, the knowledge and experience of the facilitators was the perfect recipe for learning for me. And Lastly Christina the alumni coordinator who makes the entire experience come Full circle by educating your family, incorporating fun events during and after you leave, showing us FUN IN SOBRIETY, and keeping us in touch as a community and recovery support To one another! Thank you all For your dedication to those of us that have come through your doors. Thank you for sharing your experience, strength and hope. After Flagler I completed extensive treatment and now have 15 months of sobriety! Thank you!!! 🙏🏽 One day at a time!

I am a physician, PLEASE READ! 1: the pictures shown above are all fake. There is no pool, no gym. It’s nothing but bedrooms and a kitchen. The only Pros: the portion of the faculty that directly interacts with clients are excellent. These are Therapists, techs, cooks, etc. if one takes advantage of every activity available, sobriety is achievable. They allow smoking and perform weekly runs to the gas station for more. The premises is kept fairly clean as well. Cons: A great deal of fraud occurs here. They allow anyone with good insurance or cash to come. People without addiction, folks with panic attack disorders, folks with complex mental diseases including schizophrenics, people that should not be in the same building with addicts, are accepted if they can pay. I have trained in psych wards that were more calm than this place. Everyone who gets kicked out of other facilities, are accepted here and aren’t kicked out even if they shoot up and drink in their room each night. The rehab just keeps you another month! Any quality facility would kick out anyone that uses while there, but not Flagler! Everything you’re told when you call on the phone, is a lie. You’re talking to recruiters who work on commission, so they will tell you anything you want to hear. There is no gym, no cooks/chefs, no pool, no clean couches like in those pictures above. Nothing. All your belongings are taken when you get there. Also, any phone numbers you write as your contacts, the facility will call, All of them and convince them to send money that you don’t owe. These people called my family and conned them into paying $2000, when my insurance covered in full and there was no premium or copay. They call the workplaces of every patient to convince HR that they are very sick, convince them you need to spend more time in rehab. Then they convince your family you are in really bad shape and need months of rehab. You aren’t allowed to use the phone to call home/work to inform them of the all that is going on. People that come for 10 days of detox, are held here for months. You become a prisoner. The decision makers make up stories based on the situation; you will be told different things by different people. Just know what you’re told are false statements to get you to shut up. It is a lot like jail. Non stop fights, screaming, conflict, etc. Lastly, when it is time to plan the next step: outpatient care, halfway house, PHP, etc, they only present you with locations that their company owns, and say there is no other option. You’re told it’s the only option even if it’s 3 hours away from your home. You can go online and find a program that is not owned by them, that is likely 10 minutes away from your home. Trust nothing they tell you. IMPORTANT if you want to leave, demand the AMA contract. People think AMA means walking out, it’s not. If you walk out, They keep your belongings. When you come in, do not sign anything without reading it. Demand the Against Medical Advice (AMA) contract if you want to leave. Make a scene if they do not give it. IT IS ILLEGAL TO DENY A PATIENT THE AMA CONTRACT! Then you can have all your belongings and leave. If you are denied the contract, call 911 immediately! Rishi R. M.D.

I gave it one star because of the following. Food is terrible and at times not edible and definitely NOT a private chef like they advertise. What was served was insulting and disrespectful. Clients complained everyday and still nothing was done because it wouldn’t benefit their bank account. They didn’t even provide napkins and the paper plates and paper towels provided in lieu of napkins smelled of mold because of where they chose to store them. You don’t get your phone everyday, complete lie. Rooms were small. This is no wellness place. Staff was great but the administrative was not. Treated like we were in a detention center. Deprived of milk after certain hours if it ran out and rationed the fruit which was only apples, bananas, and if we were lucky clementines. They are only out to get your insurance money. You’ve been warned. Oh and there is no pool lol. Just a pool of slop for all 3 meals. And to top it off when I got my Luggage back when I was leaving I was greeted to mold in my suitcase and on my Clothes. Thanks Flagler.

This place is something else. And not in a good way. They sell you this fantasy when they are trying to get you in. They try to keep you longer than need be, I'm guessing to milk your insurance. And after you complete their program and everything is paid for, they discard you.

I suffer from post traumatic stress I went to the center for the group therapy, and the medical staff overdosed me with Suboxone and I am not even an opioid user. I had to be rushed to the hospital which symptoms of a stroke. This place does not let you call your family and if you do get admitted to the hospital, they will not even, contact anyone of your loved ones I do not recommend this place. They will charge your insurance double the time you were even there . I’ve requested my medical records for my own personal purpose's and it’s going on two weeks with nothing . The only positive outcome was that I’m still alive and the counselor that was handling my case .i will not even recommend this center to the devil .
