I wouldn't even give it a single star if that was possible. They will lie to you from the start. On the phone I was told that the facility is wonderful, has a pool, a gym, etc. None of that was true (given, I didn't really care about the pool or the gym). Before you enter, they will say anything to get you to sign their paperwork. Once it's signed, you're F'd (funny thing, legally you cannot enter into a contract if impaired at the time...which everyone entering rehab is. Guess they forgot about contract law). IF YOU TRY TO LEAVE EARLY, THEY WILL KEEP EVERYTHING EXCEPT YOUR ID FOR THREE DAYS. What the hell are you supposed to do for that time, beg for food on the street? They assured me, over and over again, that I'd be able to leave at the 30-day mark as I had a family commitment I could not miss. But they tried their best to extend me to 45 days b/c I have good insurance. I was smart enough to have my wife book my flight home, which forced their hand. Otherwise, there was no getting out until the 45 days ran their course. My "therapist" David was this weaselly, maniacal, self-hating dolt. At one point he threatened to call my boss if I was late for any of their ever-important meetings (btw, good luck getting through HR to figure out who my boss is). Those daily meetings really did cover important topics (e.g. the AIDS rate in sub-Saharan Africa). I really gleaned so much from watching "Bruce Almighty" and "Fly Away Home". Apparently, all you need to get clean is a membership at Blockbuster Video. It's been said in many other posts, but merits repeating. This place only cares about $$. There was this older guy there who was in terrible physical shape. They shipped him to the hospital at least three times a week. But they wouldn't release him from the facility. He sincerely asked me if I was in charge, and maybe on the show "Undercover Boss". How desperate are you to pin hope to such an unlikely scenario? As a side, his insurance was through his wife's employer. Turns out there was an issue with it. Despite his many pleads to be sent home for medical treatment being outright ignored, he was shown the door at 4 AM. They didn't even give him a heads up the day before. It's a shame, we all wanted to wish him well before he left. I really went into this hoping to come out a better person. Find a way to deal with the stresses that led to substance abuse in the first place. I certainly didn't find it at Flagler. Stay far, far away from this place. Update: it's been well over a year since I left this place, and what do I receive but a bill for $32,000. This is the second or third time I've gotten a statement from them. Initially they told me to ignore it as my insurance covered everything. Today I called them again. I expressed my frustrations and was very careful to not use any foul language (instead I called them a "dog and pony show"). I was told "we can close that account today for $3,000". When I told them there was no way I was giving them another penny they hung up on me. Again, this place only cares about money. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR ISSUES; THEY JUST WANT TO GET PAID. Stay far away from this trainwreck of an operation.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Clients typically choose inpatient rehab when they are in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that puts them at an increased risk of relapse. They reside at the treatment center for the length of their program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Intensive psychotherapy is often the primary treatment modality, but clients in inpatient care may also receive holistic treatment and recovery-focused life skills training.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Treatments

When a person has alcohol use disorder (AUD), also referred to as alcoholism or alcohol addiction, they experience withdrawal symptoms when they stop drinking. This physical dependence results from overuse of alcohol, which may be used as a coping mechanism or escape. Individuals who have AUD can overcome the alcohol addiction through alcohol rehab in Florida. This treatment process involves essential therapy and supports to help the individual achieve and maintain recovery.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

In Florida, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment treats mental health and substance use disorders concurrently to enhance successful recovery outcomes and improve overall health. Specialized rehab programs include medical detox, outpatient, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient programs. Using evidence-based therapies, like dialectical behavioral therapy or medication-assisted treatment, clinicians successfully treat dual-diagnosis addiction and mental health conditions. Other activities include group therapy and skills training, to equip you with the skills required to achieve and sustain your recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men

Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women

Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

I was down a few years back, spiraling from depression and drinking my problems away but then I spoke with Adriana @FlaglerHealthandWellness and they really helped to get my life together. Undergoing the program, sitting through therapy, and following the 12 steps I was able to get my life back on track. So this is my heartfelt thank you to Adriana and her team.

My wife went to Flagler several months ago by the recommendation from someone working a hotline. My wife was actually calling looking for an AA meeting, she had never went to one in the past and he listened to her and told her he felt she needed more and then recommended Flagler. I'm giving Flagler only four stars not coming from a client's perspective but from a husband's perspective who was home several thousand miles away while my wife was in treatment. Because I've been attending help groups to understand my wife's addictions and how to appropriately respond to them I'm learning why Flagler does some of the things they do that being said I felt at times they don't do enough to support clients who have loving spouses that don't share the same addiction at home. What I mean is a client gets two 15-minute phone calls home a week and although I understand people go in with various levels of addiction, my spouse went in completely sober + from everything I've learned was a model client. 15 minutes twice a week is not enough time for a spouse to actively listen to how their spouse is doing in treatment and then share how things are going in the spouse's life at home and then to talk about things needed to be talked about in a marriage that's being handled while they are away. I found it impossible to get through or messages to her a couple of times she did not call home, due to scheduling conflicts and what not in treatment that I was unaware of. I was home waiting for that call in fear that I wasn't going to get it and have to wait four more days for the next call. The only way I was able to get messages to her to call home was through the person who recommended her to go there as he has access via email to the leadership team. You get phone numbers to call when the client gets there and calls home the first time before detox to I don't know what they're called but the people that are with her but then you can't get through to them and maybe they might return your call the next day. As a loving spouse I want to know that my wife is safe, is happy and is doing well more times than two times a week. In our case her therapist stepped away from the job for a couple weeks due to personal reason which is understandable but that caused several of the things that he promised me with her therapy to not happen. I also feel like they push on the clients so hard about making their sobriety the most important thing in their life they kind of make it sound like the spouse needs to go to their own support meetings and the client needs to go to their own AA and support meeting separately when in fact there are organizations like celebrate recovery who welcome both the client and the spouse if you want to attend. I do feel it's important that she have her own path to recovery for sure and I definitely would not want to interfere with that but I just feel like in a loving supportive marriage she can get the the best of both worlds. From what I understand the staff there is amazing all the staff that I dealt with has been completely amazing. My wife does say the food could be improved upon there, and I've read that in the reviews. All in all so far everything they taught my wife has been working wonderfully she has been doing well for the 6 weeks that she's been home she doesn't have any mind fog, her eyes are very clear + she appears to be on a very healthy track. So a big shout out and thank you to Flagler.
