About Futures Recovery Healthcare

For any adults struggling with addiction and living in the Tequesta area of Florida, you can find help at Futures Recovery Healthcare. They have specialized services for people struggling with drug and alcohol addictions or maintaining sobriety. Their levels of care include medication assisted detox (MAT), residential treatment (IP), intensive outpatient care (IOP), and aftercare.

With certain severe cases of addiction, it can be dangerous to quit on your own, without the supervision of medical professionals. For others, medication such as Suboxone or Vivitrol may be required to ensure that the detox process goes smoothly and there aren’t any serious withdrawal symptoms to deal with. It can also reduce your cravings. Your medication would be administered by licensed nurses who can watch you every step of the way.

This clinic is also a dual diagnosis center, which means they treat co-occurring mental health conditions as well. Their residential home sits on 9 acres and features plenty of amenities, like a gym, a cafeteria dining area, a library, game rooms, a swimming pool, basketball courts, and tennis courts. They also offer case management to help you out with issues that are stressing you out.

Their outpatient program requires at least three days a week of treatment, and treatment can include counseling services such as individual counseling, group therapy, and family counseling. These can include cognitive (CBT) or dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). That way, you get at the root of addiction and build up better means to cope.

In addition to this, you’ll take part in experiential activities, creative therapy, mindfulness practices, emotional regulation courses, and relapse prevention.

And, at the end of everything, they’ll help you out even further by giving you a discharge plan to make sure you stay on the right track even after you’ve reentered the real world.

Futures is truly life changing. The staff is very professional and supportive. They work with you while going through some tough times. Future’s program is great. I learned so much about myself which is what is at the core of recovery. The staff made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay as well. They all really show how much they care. The staff is also very knowledgeable and will go out of their way to meet with you and answer questions. They feel like a second family to me know. I would highly recommend using them if and when needed. Thanks!

Accepted Insurance

Futures Recovery Healthcare works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) involve frequent and robust therapeutic sessions for clients requiring high-level care. Clients may engage in a combination of medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction counseling, recovery skills training, and holistic therapies for a minimum of nine and a maximum of 20 hours per week. Intensive outpatient rehab is designed primarily for persons in early recovery, those exiting detox or inpatient care, and those at an elevated relapse risk.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

During couples therapy in Florida, your therapist will take steps to get to know you, help you identify feelings, explore the past, develop solutions, and help you learn skills to manage relationship challenges. This process will allow you to work through conflict and strengthen your relationship.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Substance abuse creates biochemical imbalances in your body and brain. By implementing dietary changes, you can restore that balance. This is the goal of nutrition therapy in Florida. You'll gain an understanding of what nutrients your body needs and learn best self care practices.

Recreational therapy helps you recover from addiction by giving you structured activities that promote your physical health and mental well being. These activities could range from sports and fitness to creative arts and provide a constructive outlet for your emotions and stress.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

I have a dear friend who suffers from addiction and has gone through many challenges in recent years. When he recently returned home for a visit, I spent a few hours with him. I was extremely impressed with the progress he has made. He told me he was working very hard at Futures and I could easily see that the work has dramatically paid off. In whatever ways Futures has led him, it certainly has worked.

One of my closest friends engaged in the hard work of recovery alongside Futures' guidance and support. Not only did my friend succeed but now thrives in his new life of health, love, and long walks along the beach. I have watched his gratitude for life grow, as he gives love and support right back to Futures in reciprocity: visiting with alum, meeting up for volleyball, and singing this organization's praises. Having witnessed addiction throughout my life in my own family, I know the toll taken and oft regression post rehab--but not here, not with his stay at Futures. He has a new outlook on life and has changed in such a positive, motivating manner. I am grateful for the magic this place has created in its recovery process. Great work Futures! Great work friend.

Absolutely 5 stars. I just wish I had appreciated the specialized care and healing more when I was there, 3 years ago. When I first arrived at Futures Recovery Healthcare, I was terrified. I had no idea what to expect. Honestly, I pictured a "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest" kind of situation—total chaos and a bunch of people I couldn’t relate to. But I couldn’t have been more wrong. Thankfully. From day one, I was welcomed with kindness and compassion. The staff made me feel safe, seen, and supported in a way I hadn’t experienced before. We were so well fed (seriously, the food was amazing), and every part of the program was thoughtfully put together. The groups were powerful—some were emotional, some were eye-opening, and all of them were incredibly healing. I never felt judged. Instead, I felt like I was finally able to let my guard down and start doing the real work. One of the things I value most is the continued alumni support. Futures doesn’t just send you on your way when you finish treatment. The quarterly alumni refresher weekends have been such a gift. They’re a chance to reset, reconnect with friends I made during my stay, and remember I’m not alone on this journey. The friendships I made there are deep, real, and lasting. It’s not just about getting sober—it’s about healing from trauma. Futures gave me the tools to start truly understanding myself and building a healthier, more grounded life. I’ll forever be grateful for my experience there and the life-long friends I have because of my connection to Futures. You can't get sober alone. It's bigger than who we are as addicts and addiction brings out the worst characteristics in us. I am so thrilled to be over 2 years, gratefully and completely accepting of sobriety - and I have Futures to thank for kicking off this healing journey.

Would not recommend this place to anyone. Had a terrible experience and I never been on a taper so short. It was 4-5 days and I was still very sick. I was throwing up profusely and all they did was keep feeding me pills and never heard of a place that doesn’t give a Zofran shot. The food is greasy and not good. The nurse practitioner or whatever she is that is in clinical suite should not being working in treatment. She is blonde short hair and glasses. She had no clue how to medicate people and is useless. It was so bad there that I AMA and ran away with just my cell phone. They send my clothes home and all of my Lululemon shorts are not in my luggage and they say they don’t have them. They also lie on the phone and say they have this or promise this and doesn’t happen. This place is terrible and shady and would not recommend this place to a homeless person. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Futures is a wonderful place to grow mentally, professionally, and most importantly of all, spiritually. Through their small group classes, lectures, discussion groups, and one on one sessions, you are truly able to begin the journey of finding your purpose in life. They can help in multiple areas, including, but not limited to, substance abuse, mental/behavior health, PTSD, trauma, etc. The staff is extremely professional and caring. They are willing to take time out of their day if you need any extra support. Even after completing the program, the staff follow-up over the phone through the alumni program and let you know they care. #
