I tried a couple places back on the mainland for my drinking, but nothing stuck. Here, it’s different. It’s not just therapy—it’s learning how to live again. The ocean, the people, the peace… it just clicks. Don’t overthink it. Just go.

As a professional seeking treatment for anxiety and depression, my criteria were stringent. Exclusive Hawaii Rebal exceeded them. The integration of evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT) with holistic practices like mindfulness in a nature-rich environment is masterful. The staff are not only highly qualified but also genuinely compassionate. The program provided me with practical tools for management and the space to heal. It’s a premium experience that is worth every penny for the long-term wellness it provides.

Very nice people and a great island all the way around to visit. Loved the whole island all the way around. And usually I dont post reviews but I had planned a trip previously to Tennessee which is where my sister lives. And I was guaranteed through my drs and the drs in Tennessee they everything was approved to go smoothly. Except when I got there nurses said they spoke to nurses who lied and said they didnt and they whole entire mess ruined the trip. So I wanted to make sure I gave this clinic a sparkling ✨️ review because when you're in a program that you depend on and you check all the boxes and do everything you should then things should go as promised. This clinic helped make the trip happen the way that it should. And I commend the nurses, drs, and staff members that help people like me every single day. 😊

After researching facilities across the country, I chose Hawaii Island Recovery for my brother's treatment, and it was the best decision we could have made. The level of medical care during his detox was exceptional—professional, vigilant, and compassionate. The clinical team provided our family with clear communication and realistic expectations. The integration of traditional therapies with the natural, serene environment of Hawaii provided a holistic path to recovery that a standard clinic simply cannot offer. This is a top-tier program.

I was terrified of detox. Absolutely terrified. But the medical team here made me feel safe and heard from the moment I arrived. They managed my withdrawal symptoms with so much care and dignity. Once I got through that first week, I was able to fully engage in the outpatient program. The flexibility allowed me to start rebuilding my life while still having intense daily support. The skills I learned in those sessions are the reason I’m thriving today, six months later. This isn’t just a program; it’s a foundation for a new life.

I am a recent alumni of The Honu House. I came from Maui, recovering from serious medical issues, a broken spirit, and a desperation for change. I am now just over 8 Months sober! The Honu House team gave me the genuine care and love I wasn't even aware that I needed. Everything they offer has been a crucial part of my recovery. Been to rehab a dozen times over last 15 years and never stayed sober long enough to hit my one year sober until I went through the Honu house program. I did 90 days. Super chill, 12-step based, but not hardcore militaristic like some gnarly programs. It’s co-ed, in a beautiful house on the mountain in Kona with a view of the ocean about a mile and a half away. I thought it was great because it wasn’t a super crazy packed schedule everyday, they understand the value of personal time. Fun outings, gym time, meditations, yoga, weekly massages!!! Spoiled!! JB and Nick are awesome guys, I highly recommend.

When one of us struggles with addiction, man, the ripple effect just hits everyone. And this KKH place, they totally get that. They didn't just help my brother; they became a real part of our family during the toughest, most messed-up times. The constant, clear talks, the real concern they showed for every single person involved, the way they supported us as much as him – that just made all the difference, for real. It's more than just some clinic; it's a place where families, the whole damn bunch of us, can start to heal and put things back together.
