I tried a couple places back on the mainland for my drinking, but nothing stuck. Here, it’s different. It’s not just therapy—it’s learning how to live again. The ocean, the people, the peace… it just clicks. Don’t overthink it. Just go.

As a professional seeking treatment for anxiety and depression, my criteria were stringent. Exclusive Hawaii Rebal exceeded them. The integration of evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT) with holistic practices like mindfulness in a nature-rich environment is masterful. The staff are not only highly qualified but also genuinely compassionate. The program provided me with practical tools for management and the space to heal. It’s a premium experience that is worth every penny for the long-term wellness it provides.

Went in this morning for a scheduled appointment. I was told that calls were sent out not to come in and that it was a telephone appointment. I did not receive said call. I would not have left the house for this appointment if I had been notified. I had been staying home because of the virus. My situation was not handled nicely or correctly. It's now close to an hour after scheduled appointment and no call since I 8 am appointment and I am not able to be available after 9am. I suspect I will not hear from Dr. Or VA. Very irritating!

Just celebrated 18 months clean and wanted to just show some love. A lot of the fruits of recovery I enjoy today were due to seeds sown at Honu. I am delighted to share my experience with Honu House. As a family member of someone who has journeyed through multiple attempts to achieve sobriety, I can confidently say that Honu House embodies a rare blend of compassionate care and exceptional professionalism. Honu House’s dedicated team brought my loved one back from the brink, providing not just a path to recovery, but a sanctuary of respect and trust. Their holistic and insightful approach has not only facilitated genuine healing, but has also restored a sense of hope we feared was lost. In a realm where finding a truly trustworthy rehabilitation center can be challenging, Honu House stands as a beacon of excellence. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who wants their loved one to be embraced by a place where recovery is not just possible, but truly achievable. Mahalo, Kimberly J.

I'm currently a freshman at this school (been here since 7th grade), and I can honestly say that it's one of the best schools I've ever attended. They emphasize writing, science, and math. One of the best things about this school is that you can make your own electives. This allows students to pursue their interests to their heart's content. Unless you're child is self-directed they'll never succeed here. The reason why the drop-out rate is so high is because not enough kids are self-directed learners. Parents send their kids here without understanding their child's limits. I strongly recommend this school for kids who love learning.

The well educated counselors and skilled therapists at ‘O’hana Makamae approach recovery differently from other drug and alcohol treatment centers. Clients are seen as individuals and are treated as valued members of a family. They Recognize no “one size” recovery plan works for everyone.
