I went to this school in 1992-1994 when my father was in the military. From the look of the pics, nothing seems to have changed. As for fights, even then it was a daily occurrence. Never saw drugs or weapons then but times have changed. Did see alcohol from time to time. So needless to say in 25 years not much has changed for this school.

I was a bit worried about having to go to an emergency room on Labor Day. Such a pleasant experience, the receptionist was polite and helpful, I was immediately taken to a room greeted by a healthcare worker who took down all my information, the nurse came in, explained that the doctor would be in shortly the doctor did come in, gave me the pain medication that I needed and treated my wound in a very timely matter. I have two family members who have attended WHEA and they loved learning at this school. The teachers treat the students with respect and encourage self-directed learning, although the teachers remain available to help. The curriculum is exciting and allows for the students to do exploration in the natural environment.

The Marimed Foundation was the best thing that could've happened to me. As a child I was considered an at risk youth. I was completely undisciplined and unruly and had a very bad temper with a very short fuse. When I first entered the program I couldn't stand it. So many rules, I was away from my family and friends, and I just wanted to be me. It took some time, but I finally started letting the program work for me. Because of this program I made new friends, learned so much about teamwork and responsibility, and I was able to graduate from high school at the age of 16. I was in a bad way luckily for me I was court ordered to do classes. I went in with a closed mind and after a couple of classes, I realized how messed up I was and started to go to the classes with an open mind. Christopher is a very good councilor, he got through to me like no one could. Long story short I learned a lot about myself and the reasons I am the way I am and how to change the destructive patterns I was choosing. Christopher and Access Capabilities help me change my life for the better. And to top it off he worked out a payment plan for me because I didn’t have health care coverage at the time.
