KKH Recovery Center helps you rebuild more than just your routine it helps you reconnect with people. From day one, you start learning how to talk again, how to listen, and how to actually be around others without all the noise in your head. Group sessions aren’t just checkboxes they feel like real conversations that open your eyes. There’s this vibe at KKH that makes you want to show up, even when its hard. The staff encourage connection without forcing it. You grow socially without even trying sometimes. If you’ve been isolating for too long, this place shows you how to let people back in and how to be real with them.

I had a great experience with Ku Aloha. I was on the clinic for almost 5 years. I even stopped smoking cigarettes when I was on the clinic. We had to attend group sessions and one on one counseling sessions.i decided to attend their tobacco cessation program. They gave me patches and gum to help with the cravings and honestly I wouldn't have been able to stop without them. Patches and gum are expensive at Longs . They really helped my Well Being in every aspect. With the individual counseling and the group sessions , I was really able to feel good about myself again. Thank you to all the counselors and doctors and nurses and staff that helped me there .

Really weird place. Some people are really friendly and caring and some seem downright crazy. I waited days to get some ear drops for an infection that they diagnosed because they couldn’t get a prescription phoned in correctly. They repeatedly blamed the pharmacy when it was obvious that it was their fault then claimed they were “under staffed” when the place was empty of patients… On my second visit trying to get a prescription, the Nurse Manager lied right to my face when she said that my prescription would be phone in. No surprise once again the pharmacy told me nothing was received. When I finally obtained the prescription the pharmacist said that the Maui VA left several important things off the form and it almost impossible to fulfill the prescription until she rewrote most of it. Some of the people there are petty and have absolutely no integrity let alone honesty. They shouldn’t even be working in any type of medical capacity let alone with veterans.

When one of us struggles with addiction, man, the ripple effect just hits everyone. And this KKH place, they totally get that. They didn't just help my brother; they became a real part of our family during the toughest, most messed-up times. The constant, clear talks, the real concern they showed for every single person involved, the way they supported us as much as him – that just made all the difference, for real. It's more than just some clinic; it's a place where families, the whole damn bunch of us, can start to heal and put things back together.

The Marimed Foundation was the best thing that could've happened to me. As a child I was considered an at risk youth. I was completely undisciplined and unruly and had a very bad temper with a very short fuse. When I first entered the program I couldn't stand it. So many rules, I was away from my family and friends, and I just wanted to be me. It took some time, but I finally started letting the program work for me. Because of this program I made new friends, learned so much about teamwork and responsibility, and I was able to graduate from high school at the age of 16. I couldn't have asked for better counselors and teachers.

I was in a bad way luckily for me I was court ordered to do classes. I went in with a closed mind and after a couple of classes, I realized how messed up I was and started to go to the classes with an open mind. Christopher is a very good councilor, he got through to me like no one could. Long story short I learned a lot about myself and the reasons I am the way I am and how to change the destructive patterns I was choosing. Christopher and Access Capabilities help me change my life for the better. And to top it off he worked out a payment plan for me because I didn’t have health care coverage at the time.
