The only hiccup was the hospital was switching their computerized charting system and all my previous billing information needed to be re-entered causing me to be 1/2 hr late for appt. however once I got to dexascan they took me right away. It would have been helpful to have us come 1/2 hr earlier as there were a lot of patients waiting for registration

I had a genuinely great experience during my stay at detox. I went in expecting to be miserable and counting the minutes until I could leave, but it turned out to be the complete opposite. I met some really solid people who were going through the same thing, and having that support made the whole process not just manageable, but surprisingly enjoyable. The staff was friendly, supportive, and went out of their way to help me with applications and next steps for treatment. It honestly felt like a much‑needed break from real life—a chance to step back, reset, and really look at my goals and where I want my life to go. By the end, I actually didn’t want to leave, which still makes me laugh. I’m hoping this is a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience, but if I ever do need help again, I know exactly where to go. Thank you to the entire ATS Detox team for being such an important part of the beginning of my sober journey. One day at a time, and I’m grateful you were there at the start.

Our Waianae YMCA, one of other YMCAs, is managed by the Honolulu YMCA. I watched, with delight, the special kupuna tai chi and cardio workout group grow rapidly. Waianae is noted for poor health due financial challenges. Without the Y, our kupuna, with little affordable activity, can experience muscle loss, tightening joints, and increase risks of falls and chronic illnesses. Kupuna social groups stimulate our aging brain and lower our cognitive decline. The Y’s garden also offers senior gardening participation and healthier eating habits. Waianae’s YMCA unique, creative and high level leadership, with little financial support, is exceptional in its intrinsic worth you won’t find anywhere on the Waianae coast, or maybe never will if we lose what we currently have. The saying, “leave no soldier behind,” could easily be applied to our kupuna. We need our State and federal legislatures to start paying more attention to Waianae’s YMCA.

Mark Turansky / New Horizons Counseling changed my life. I had high hopes when I started the program, but deep down I questioned how it could possibly turn my situation around. I was in so deep. I tried everything and nothing helped. But the New Horizons program not only worked, it inspired me to quit drinking in less than 24 hours. And I haven't had a drink since. This program works. The process has been around for awhile and it's life changing, but there's something about the way Mark presents it that creates the real miracles. His counseling style is one of a kind. My family and I came to Hawaii on vacation and towards the end of it my mom Became severely sick, she was suddenly non responsive and altered where we needed to call 911. We chose Tripler because my dad is a military vet. She had to stay in the hospital for almost three weeks. From the icu, pcu, and med surg. It’s a long and complex story but today she is being discharged. They did the digging she needed In order to get the answers we needed. From coordinating to drs back in the states to listening to my thoughts in what I thought she needed she got exceptional care. They are a teaching hospital, but from what I experienced they demonstrated strong nurses and staff that are all invested in caring for the military and their families. The collaboration with me as a fellow healthcare professional i found so meaningful. They saved my mom’s life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Jeff and all the other nurses involved in her care and to Dr Sterling Dr Jensen.

I just had a knee MRI done here. From the moment I booked my appt, they called me for screening. And follow through until that day. The bldg is big with great parking options. I was welcomed by the Security guard. MRI tech is very professional. The experience is top notch compared to my experience at invision and queens imaging.

Very friendly upon walking in! Simple check in with a smile. Mammogram was a breeze with an outgoing specialist. Ultrasound was comforting with the specialist I had. She answered any questions she legally could. Both were gentle and respectful. Radiologist gives the okay to come back or go home. Home, this time for me. Yay! And a real rose to take home, how thoughtful. Will be back on next appointment. Highly recommend! 12/8/2025.

I am so glad I chose Dr Collins as my Gyn. He is not only professional but so kind and gentle ,I didn't feel rushed thru my appointment, he explains everything before he does it. I've seen both male and female Gynecologists in my 40 years on the earth and Dr Collins by far was the best, I'm looking forward to my annual checkup next year. So if you have reservations about seeing a male gynecologist throw them out the window and go see Dr Collins.
