Of course we went in to our first session not really knowing what to expect. Yes, we were a little defensive and somewhat nervous. Within moments, Mark dispelled our worries and concerns. He made it very clear that his sole purpose was to get us through the issues we were dealing with and head us to a better quality of life. He was understanding, un-bias and supportive. We are thankful to have found him and what he had to offer. Mahalo

Mark Turansky / New Horizons Counseling changed my life. I had high hopes when I started the program, but deep down I questioned how it could possibly turn my situation around. I was in so deep. I tried everything and nothing helped. But the New Horizons program not only worked, it inspired me to quit drinking in less than 24 hours. And I haven't had a drink since. This program works. The process has been around for awhile and it's life changing, but there's something about the way Mark presents it that creates the real miracles. His counseling style is one of a kind. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next word from him the entire time. I remember feeling I could listen to him for hours. He's truly amazing and if you need help quitting your addiction for good this time, sign up! You won't be sorry. It will be the best decision you'll make. Forever grateful. - Michelle W.

I had a great experience with Ku Aloha. I was on the clinic for almost 5 years. I even stopped smoking cigarettes when I was on the clinic. We had to attend group sessions and one on one counseling sessions.i decided to attend their tobacco cessation program. They gave me patches and gum to help with the cravings and honestly I wouldn't have been able to stop without them. Patches and gum are expensive at Longs . They really helped my Well Being in every aspect. With the individual counseling and the group sessions , I was really able to feel good about myself again. Thank you to all the counselors and doctors and nurses and staff that helped me there .

At times the hospital is good or bad depending on the nurse/aids on shift. Younger nurses & aids are WAY BETTER than the old lady’s working. Need more younger nurses because old heads are very lazy & could care less. Young nurses have been very helpful & make you feel a lot more comfortable. They give proper care for concerns & are quicker. Fire the old heads or have them work a computer instead of caring for patients. I understand they are old & working doubles or what but if they can’t give the proper care to do job then don’t do it. Old nurses unorganized & very lazy. Old ladies better off working at a retirement center. No communication between other nurses concerning meds & schedule needing attention for my father’s pain, old lady even forgot to take vitals & blood pressure! Janitor lady didn’t take out the trash after 4 days, tho it stink she just stacked the garbage as high as she could & threw old bowel pads in the trash can without no trash bag, gloves & all! When I came in next day she didn’t bother taking it out just threw a trash bag over it! Lazy lady. Very unsanitary & disgusting she needs too do her job or just quit. Other old nurse didn’t know what to give or what prior nurse had planned for medication. Unorganized. Old lady was talking about nurses being lazy but she must have been talking about herself. We have been polite & patient with grace but you can tell when someone takes initiative in job or just there too get paid. Doctors & PT have been awesome in the process too recovery, surgeons, & young nurses have been great because they actually care. MMMC needs too root out the bad seeds & hire better nurses/aids. Look at all the reviews. All they do is copy & paste the same feedback response like they don’t give a crap. Record everything they do & take tabs maybe start a lawsuit against them if you feel you aren’t getting properly cared for or refer to a second opinion else where because the hospital overall needs too step it up.

The Marimed Foundation was the best thing that could've happened to me. As a child I was considered an at risk youth. I was completely undisciplined and unruly and had a very bad temper with a very short fuse. When I first entered the program I couldn't stand it. So many rules, I was away from my family and friends, and I just wanted to be me. It took some time, but I finally started letting the program work for me.
