I am a recent alumni of The Honu House. I came from Maui, recovering from serious medical issues, a broken spirit, and a desperation for change. I am now just over 8 Months sober! The Honu House team gave me the genuine care and love I wasn't even aware that I needed. Everything they offer has been a crucial part of my recovery. The breath work, to the the various types of therapy like codependents anonymous. One on one sessions, trauma work, yoga it goes on and on! I honestly believe I wouldn't be where I am at in my recovery with out The Honu House.

Been to rehab a dozen times over last 15 years and never stayed sober long enough to hit my one year sober until I went through the Honu house program. I did 90 days. Super chill, 12-step based, but not hardcore militaristic like some gnarly programs. It’s co-ed, in a beautiful house on the mountain in Kona with a view of the ocean about a mile and a half away. I thought it was great because it wasn’t a super crazy packed schedule everyday, they understand the value of personal time. Fun outings, gym time, meditations, yoga, weekly massages!!! Spoiled!! JB and Nick are awesome guys, I highly recommend.

Just celebrated 18 months clean and wanted to just show some love. A lot of the fruits of recovery I enjoy today were due to seeds sown at Honu. I was homeless and addicted on the streets of Honolulu for more than a year and a half. I did not successfully complete the entire program. The tools that I had obtained at SITC has kept me sober since September 7, 2017. I now work and reside at the Coolfont Resort in Berkeley Springs West Virginia. I was deemed untreatble and was one of the worst cases that was reported. If I could tell SITC anything it would be thank you for the tough love and that miracles happen.

I am so grateful for the opportunity I was given there. I will take with me everything I learned there. The staff is incredible. There is not a better treatment out there I think which sounds biast though that's how I feel. I learned so much in the short time I was there. Forever they have left a mark on my soul. The teachers ( what I call them ) and my counselor were brutal and honest and I couldn't have asked for better people.

I have two family members who have attended WHEA and they loved learning at this school. The teachers treat the students with respect and encourage self-directed learning, although the teachers remain available to help. The curriculum is exciting and allows for the students to do exploration in the natural environment.

My wife and I were on vacation for her birthday when, on the last day, I had a sudden sharp stomach pain. I thought I could tough it out and wait until we flew home to get checked, but we decided to go to the hospital because the pain kept getting worse. I’m so glad we did.
From the moment we arrived, everything moved quickly and efficiently. They got me in right away, ran tests, did a CT scan, diagnosed the problem, and put together a clear treatment plan. Every step was explained so I understood what was going on, and they did everything possible to avoid surgery.
The doctors were amazing, and the nurses were truly incredible. Their care, professionalism, and compassion made all the difference. I honestly feel like they saved me. Thank you so much.This was the best hospital I have been to.

The Marimed Foundation was the best thing that could've happened to me. As a child I was considered an at risk youth. I was completely undisciplined and unruly and had a very bad temper with a very short fuse. When I first entered the program I couldn't stand it. So many rules, I was away from my family and friends, and I just wanted to be me. It took some time, but I finally started letting the program work for me. Because of this program I made new friends, learned so much about teamwork and responsibility, and I was able to graduate from high school at the age of 16. I couldn't have asked for better counselors and teachers.
