My doc was Russell Means. I found him to be caring, helpful, and resourceful. My reason was a shoulder dislocation. My first.. I walked in and found folks interested in my well being and comfort.
The first attempt to reconnect was not successful. Doc Means continued to find ways to help me until, between the two of us, my humerus was reconnected. The pain was immediately relieved.

Would give it no stars at this point.
Went to this womens clinic for a year for CBC blood test to treat my anemia and when I asked for a hematologist, the doctor refused and said it's the cost that matters and tried to persuade me to not get one. Now I'm a Hemaphobe (fear of blood) and I hate blood test. Eventually the doctor said we'll do a genetic blood test with a CBC. So I said "ok" went to the lab and they took 4 VIALS of my blood without telling me what they were used for. So I thought it was for the CBC and a genetic blood test.
Nope, it was only a CBC not genetic blood test at all. Turns out there was an appointment that was for a "genetic questionnaire," which made no sense since I already told them my family medical history, what I've been looking for etc. They also put me down for a pap smear which I didn't consent to. I thought the appointment was for us to go over the lab results.
So I called and told them on 4/18/2025 that if I don't get my genetic blood results that day I would call them and terminate my patient care with them, I also had them transfer me to a new PCP who I never met because I couldnt leave it blank with them which pissed me off but whatever.
Today (4/21/2025) I called, told them that since I didn't get the results that day, I am going to terminate my patient care with them and that they clearly don't care about my health.
Just the memory of the lab people drawing out for vials of blood in my arm is getting me pissed off and angry.
I will say though that the Mental Health area is the best though, they are nice and amazing people and my therapist there is amazing. So atleast there is that to look forward to.

Their check-in is confusing. Sometimes you check-in, in one area, then another day you check-in somewhere else. If you're short staffed keep it at the the most convenient way for your patients. Not based on what you think you need. Customer service should be your priority, with so many options for health care.

If I could make the rating 0 stars, I would. I thought of making this review multiple times after it happened but it was just too fresh.
Here we are a little over a year and I’m ready to explain it. In March of 2023 I was actively miscarrying. My husband took me to Maui Memorial ER. I hate to be so graphic but I was bleeding so much I had my son’s diaper in my pants trying to keep the blood contained. If you get Dr.Luchia ask for someone else she is most INCOMPETENT DR IN THAT ER! Dr.Luchia is the WORST doctor I’ve ever come into contact with. She doesn’t listen, she’s inconsiderate & she’s definitely not someone you want helping you with an emergency. I drove all the way from Kula only to only be told “I don’t think you’re pregnant” as I’m actively miscarrying. She made me sit around and do blood tests as I bled out because I “wasn’t miscarrying” because I “wasn’t pregnant”..BUT I WAS) turns out as I said, I was pregnant AND MISCARRYING. There was absolutely NO urgency for my situation with this “doctor” but let me tell you as soon as I wanted to leave she gave me issues. Made me sign an AMA to leave even though she didn’t help me nor do ANYTHING, she just wanted to bill me for something. I was finally discharged and was discharged with a pamphlet about an “etopic pregnancy” and I didn’t have that. I was MISCARRYING. When I got my bill in the mail I was billed for an “IV” that was NEVER even put in. Take my advice when I say if you get Dr.Luchia ASK FOR ANOTHER DR SHE IS VILE!

I was a bit worried about having to go to an emergency room on Labor Day. Such a pleasant experience, the receptionist was polite and helpful, I was immediately taken to a room greeted by a healthcare worker who took down all my information, the nurse came in, explained that the doctor would be in shortly the doctor did come in, gave me the pain medication that I needed and treated my wound in a very timely matter. In the context of health care and in comparison with Medicare Advantage or UHC private insurance coverage Spark M. Matsunaga VA Medical Center gets a 5 star rating from me. In giving the five star rating I take into consideration that the constraints that the VA operates under are imposed on it by the US Congress and the US Senate. These two governing bodies determine the parameters of the care that the VA can provide.
From that standpoint I can say that the care that I get from the VA in general far exceeds the care that I get from Medicare Advantage and is on par with UHC private coverage. Spark is a great place to get care at. Scheduling appointments for primary care and specialists, getting tests and prescriptions filled are all done in a timely manner. The staff is competent , professional and friendly.

I had a great experience with Ku Aloha. I was on the clinic for almost 5 years. I even stopped smoking cigarettes when I was on the clinic.We had to attend group sessions and one on one counseling sessions.i decided to attend their tobacco cessation program. They gave me patches and gum to help with the cravings and honestly I wouldn't have been able to stop without them. Patches and gum are expensive at Longs . They really helped my Well Being in every aspect. With the individual counseling and the group sessions , I was really able to feel good about myself again. Thank you to all the counselors and doctors and nurses and staff that helped me there .

Went in at labor and delivery for a scary fall at 25 weeks pregnant and got checked out promptly. Dr. Bullock and nurse Lindsey were amazing and attentive. I felt truly taken care of! Super grateful to them.

Joke of a treatment. Really disappointed in my out-patient counselor Jordan who was horrific at communication before she went on vacation. Will never waste my time with a stupid program like Hina Mauka again

Their check-in is confusing. Sometimes you check-in, in one area, then another day you check-in somewhere else. If you're short staffed keep it at the the most convenient way for your patients. Not based on what you think you need. Customer service should be your priority, with so many options for health care.

5 stars because my OB, Dr. Robert J Collins, is a great doctor and always ensures I am informed on what’s going on. He is kind and takes his time! He’s probably the only doctor I have ever enjoyed being seen by.
One star off because I do not recommend being seen by Susan M Rinaldi-Weldon. 🤢
