Just celebrated 18 months clean and wanted to just show some love. A lot of the fruits of recovery I enjoy today were due to seeds sown at Honu. I am a recent alumni of The Honu House. I came from Maui, recovering from serious medical issues, a broken spirit, and a desperation for change. I am now just over 8 Months sober! The Honu House team gave me the genuine care and love I wasn't even aware that I needed. Everything they offer has been a crucial part of my recovery. The breath work, to the the various types of therapy like codependents anonymous. One on one sessions, trauma work, yoga it goes on and on! I honestly believe I wouldn't be where I am at in my recovery with out The Honu House.

I'm currently a freshman at this school (been here since 7th grade), and I can honestly say that it's one of the best schools I've ever attended. They emphasize writing, science, and math. One of the best things about this school is that you can make your own electives. This allows students to pursue their interests to their heart's content. Unless you're child is self-directed they'll never succeed here. The reason why the drop-out rate is so high is because not enough kids are self-directed learners. Parents send their kids here without understanding their child's limits. I strongly recommend this school for kids who love learning.

I was in a bad way luckily for me I was court ordered to do classes. I went in with a closed mind and after a couple of classes, I realized how messed up I was and started to go to the classes with an open mind. Christopher is a very good councilor, he got through to me like no one could. Long story short I learned a lot about myself and the reasons I am the way I am and how to change the destructive patterns I was choosing. Christopher and Access Capabilities help me change my life for the better. And to top it off he worked out a payment plan for me because I didn’t have health care coverage at the time. There are lots of options for meetings, you can siit and read a grapevine, play cards, do a puzzle, play music, hang with friends, and there lots of service opportunities and fun events.
