Hidden Oaks completely changed my life. I was on the most destructive path and had hit rock bottom. I was nervous coming in because I had never been to rehab and had no idea what to expect. The intake process was smooth - I called late on a Friday and I was at Hidden Oaks by Sunday. Alice is a gem and took the time to thoroughly evaluate my situation/help ease my anxiety about insurance. When I arrived, Mama K and Alice were waiting out front to greet me. The nursing staff is AMAZING. I have past traumas and do not like people touching me, but all the nurses were respectful and handled me with the utmost care. You usually share a room with one other person and they matched me up with the best roommate - we are still in close contact. I come from a psychology background and have been with countless counselors/psychologists but none of them even compare to Laura and Vinnie. They challenged my irrational beliefs, made me get to the root cause of why I was self-medicating, and actually gave me TOOLS to use to help with anxiety/triggers. They don’t just shove a workbook in your hands, they have an interactive approach to therapy. There were a few sessions weekly that were religious, but Hidden Oaks was very accommodating to me being agnostic. It did not feel like a certain religion was being pushed on me and they didn’t make me feel judged. While I was at Hidden Oaks, there were people of all ages - from 21 to 80. Even though there was a large age difference and everyone came from different backgrounds, we built a strong community. I still keep in touch with many of the people that were there with me seeking treatment. In addition, the team was AMAZING - special thanks to the aids that Hidden Oaks has. Not only do they have group therapy, Dalton holds interactive survival sessions. Moe does fitness in the gym (we had some fun pickle ball sessions), Gerald taught self-defense, we did creative writing, art, etc. Overall, the Hidden Oaks team genuinely cares about each patient’s well-being/recovery. They take the time to get to know you and you aren’t just another number to them. I have now been sober for over four months and have never been happier. My relationships, health, anxiety, and depression have significantly improved. I truly cannot put into words how life-changing this experience was. If you are questioning attending a rehab, this is the one you want to go to. I truly think their approach is one of the most successful ways to prevent relapse.

Accepted Insurance

Hidden Oaks Rehab works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs offer high-level care for clients as an increased risk of relapse, including those in early recovery, those with a strong history of relapse, and those experiencing a crisis. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in nine to 20 hours of care weekly, with treatment modalities that combine psychotherapy and recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and animal therapy. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also common in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Ridding the body of harmful, addictive substances, also known as detoxification, is usually the first phase of recovery. Those going through medically assisted detox can be administered medications by a team of medical professionals who are on-site 24/7 to provide different types of therapies that help mitigate withdrawal symptoms.

outpatient iconOutpatient

After completing some form of inpatient care, many clients transition or step down to an outpatient rehab, while some choose to transition from detox directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education, and some also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Residents of a sober living home in Texas reside at the halfway house with others who have agreed to abstain from substances and practice sober-living skills. The relationships and accountability formed here can help individuals strengthen their mental health and achieve long-term recovery. Residents share common spaces such as kitchens and back yards, share meals together, and share household responsibilities such as cooking and cleaning.

telehealth iconTelehealth

Telehealth in Texas encompasses four main applications. These are mobile health, store-and-forward, remote patient monitoring, and live video. Practitioners leverage these technologies to provide healthcare from a distance, which increases convenience and reduces cost.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs promote participants' sustained sobriety through rigorous and ongoing peer coaching and personal spiritual growth. Participants routinely attend 12 step meetings, which are available multiple times per day, 365 days per year in most communities. This ensures that those in recovery have prompt access to the structure and support they need when they need it. These programs use spiritual precepts to address the root causes of addiction and encourage compassion, self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Texas is to change thought patterns, which leads to changes in behavior. Specific techniques during CBT can include self talk, SMART goals, journaling, and positive activities.

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding family dynamic within the family unit. Therapists help individual members to identify and change harmful behavior patterns and improve communication. This provides a stable foundation for the family and their loved one's recovery.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Experiential therapy in Texas can look different for each person. You may engage in fitness activities, community service, culinary arts, or art therapy, for example. The goal is to provide a safe setting where you can interact with your environment and work through emotions and experiences with the help of that activity and the guidance of a therapist.

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

My relative was treated at Hidden Oaks and successfully got into recovery and discovered more about himself to have a successful life. The treatment saved his life through the resolution focused therapy which was developed ,by CEO Vinnie Strumolo . Vinnie and Laura , Director of Clinical Services, counsel clients with this therapy to address the root of what drives the addiction and provides resources to impact the symptoms . The treatment center is based on a family philosophy and all staff embrace this concept which makes the client comfortable and open to therapy . I want to thank the entire staff : administrators, nurses, techs , chef for how much they all contributed to my relative’s new look at life. You are doing God’s work. Thank you! I would sincerely recommend this treatment center to anyone dealing with an addiction .You can be helped.

My wife and I felt we needed assistance to stop drinking. Hidden Oaks allowed us to come in as a couple vs.... Individually. One of us coming home well would be a mistake. It takes a team / group effort. The Hidden Oaks team is amazing. They have boundaries but it's not a military style environment. The staff is educated, kind and caring. It's the 5th of January and 3 weeks of 0 alcohol intake. We look healthier, our energy levels are amazing and our happiness meter is pushing 10! Some folks stop drinking on January 1st as a New Year Resolution. In many cases they fail. We did the work going in making it much easier. If you are looking for a recovery home in Southeast / Central Texas Hidden Oaks is your landing strip. We love the staff and our new recovery friends!!

There is not enough great things to say about Hidden Oaks. It was by far the best treatment center I have been to ever. (8) The family there treats you as one of their own. It is impossible to feel uncomfortable during your stay there. I left Hidden Oaks feeling rejuvenated and ready to face the unknown. Thank you for everything you did for me.

This place absolutely changed my life! For many people including myself, deciding to go to treatment is one of the most terrifying parts of the recovery process. So choosing the proper center is very important when considering treatment. This place was more than I could have ever asked for, the staff was amazing and friendly. They actually made me feel like they cared about what I was going through and they became my second family. The therapists where some of the most knowledgeable people I’ve ever met and they helped me to understand my condition and helped me to understand things that may have caused my condition. Overall i walked away from them with a better understanding of myself completely and what i was suffering with. I am eternally grateful for their help and the way they ALL helped me grow. If you are like me and are reading these reviews hoping to come across a place that really could help you change for good but you’re hesitant because of the stigma that comes along with the “rehab” environment, don’t take my word for it, take a chance on Hidden Oaks. It will be the most impactful decision that you will have ever made. MIND, BODY, SPIRIT!
