About Houston Recovery Houses LLC
Houston Recovery Houses (HRH) consist of four sober living homes for men in early recovery. They generally work with residents who’ve completed an inpatient treatment or detox program before joining their community. They’re located in the Spring Branch district of Northwest Houston, Texas. It’s open 24/7.
The cost of staying at HRH is $850 each month and includes food, hygiene items and bedding. Insurance isn’t accepted here because the focus is on sober living and not medical treatment. However, they will provide referrals to local treatment resources.
Structure and Peer Connections
Depending on where you are in your recovery journey, they accommodate both short and extended stays. You’ll be expected to be working or actively looking for a job and partaking in the 12 Steps. Drug and alcohol testing is done at random as part of their zero tolerance policy. Medication assisted treatment is allowed, but this may be only through time-home programs. Curfews are at 9:30pm.
Clear house rules and mandatory meeting attendance help maintain accountability. Peer support and daily routines build responsibility and relapse prevention skills. I noticed that both private and shared rooms are available, and living spaces are fully furnished with modern decor.
Easy Access to Work and Transport
The homes sit in Houston neighborhoods with convenient access to public transportation and job opportunities. Residents can easily get to local parks, recovery meetings and community centers. Shopping areas and recreation options are also nearby. Haden Park is across the street.
Peer Support Strengthens Sobriety
Residents praise the home for its clean, structured environment. They appreciate the balance of accountability and independence, as well as the support from the staff. Many highlight the family-like atmosphere and peer encouragement as important aspects of recovery. One client said, “The environment here is truly superior, and the support system within the home has been invaluable to my recovery journey.”
