This is the place I recommend to anyone I meet who's struggling. I spent 47 days at NMWR Detox, and these people saved my life, turned me gently, and pointed me in the right direction with the best and most comprehensive help and tools I could have asked for, let alone tried for. This they did with utmost kindness, expertise, creativity, humor, and top-tier clinical attention. I will always have those 47 days - and I draw on them for strength, but I also know that any time, I can come to the Alumni meeting Wednesday nights and see people I've shared the journey with or even lived with, along with new people who come into their program. The reason this place is brilliant is because the people running it are really, really good -- and available, as part of the recovery community here in LA and West Hollywood. The owners, Paolo and Anthony, go to meetings; every evening, we were taken into the community for a meeting. That helped us make and keep friendships and recovery buddies as we go forward, and that's been so crucial to me. I don't have the right words for my experience at NMWR, but it was the first thing that really gave me hope down to my bones. They are funny, irreverent, committed, educated, creative, and smashingly skilled at various things. (For the first time ever I met someone could work two phones seamlessly while holding them in one hand). Johnny was my therapist, and helped me immensely. He was always able to make some more time if I was in a crisis, and we met twice a week. NMWR's program is geared to address trauma, and they do this with a great deal of human kindness, acceptance of all people in all phases of recovery, and ongoing challenges every day that involved reaching inside and really learning new ways of communicating. The premise is that communication and community are the bedrock of and the result of good recovery. One of the best parts is that I can go back for the Alumni meeting every week, and see people who I admire, who are doing these beautiful things for an all-inclusive sober community, continuing to help others in such effective and compassionate ways. I am eternally grateful, and admire the people who make No Matter What, what it is.

My friend has severe childhood trauma and was using methamphetamine, which presents unique challenges that many treatment centers don’t fully understand. He has been countless treatment centers . But nothing compares to No Matter What Recovery Detox. What makes them truly stand out is that they don’t just use therapeutic techniques during groups or sessions—they have a completely trauma-informed staff and approach to everything. Every need is met, and if it’s not, they listen. Every single interaction is therapeutic, reinforcing the work done in both group therapy and private sessions. This approach actively contributes to the rewiring of a traumatized brain, which is crucial for real healing. Unlike larger facilities where it’s easy to get lost in a crowd, No Matter What Recovery keeps their focus on personalized care rather than numbers, ensuring each individual gets the attention they truly need. From the moment my friend arrived, the staff did everything to make sure he was comfortable. Every single day, they asked if there was anything they could do to make his stay better. Even when his treatment was denied by insurance, his therapist, Johnny, went above and beyond, spending days - even on the weekends- researching, gathering information , and advocating for my friend’s stay. Even when an initial review was denied, Johnny didn’t stop fighting. He put in the work to prepare another appeal, and thanks to his persistence, the denial was overturned!!! No Matter What Recovery Detox isn’t just a treatment facility—it’s a place where people are truly seen, heard, and cared for.

I just want to thank Paulo, Tony, Erica, Jack and so many more people for helping our daughter. Having an adult child that is working on their substance abuse issues, transitioning, mentally ill, conserved and very sick is an extremely complicated situation. Jack and Erica have went above and beyond many times even when my child has left their facility. Everyone that works here cares for their clients and families. Paulo and Tony just last weekend worked endlessly to get my child help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do!! You are very appreciated Jen

Accepted Insurance

No Matter What Recovery Detox works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

Treatments

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

In California, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs offer comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Programs include medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. Using an evidence-based approach, clinicians utilize therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy and mindfulness to address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Additional services include 12-Step recovery, group therapy, family counseling, and relapse prevention to promote sustained recovery.

In California, substance abuse treatment programs can help individuals with any type of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. These rehab programs typically encompass various levels of care, including medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. You can expect clinicians to utilize evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to help you achieve and sustain your recovery. The rehab's clinical team can provide a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and medical support you may need.

Programs

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

I was skeptical about going into treatment, and from day 1, the No Matter What Detox staff made my welcome, stay, and the beginning of my sobriety so wonderful. The techs are always encouraging and you’re never lonely with them around. The nurses are so caring and helpful. The doctor is very understanding and caters to each patient’s specific needs. The case managers are very encouraging and make sure you’re having a welcoming stay, and even take you out for outings which is great so that you don’t get any cabin fever. You learn a lot during the groups with the group leaders, and the entire home is filled with accommodations so that you have entertainment, food and essentials. Not to mention the owners who are very involved and engaged with the clients and the company. I highly recommend this place.
