About TMC Behavioral Health Center

Clients may start treatment in their 24/7 acute medical detox program. Their empathetic mental health professionals stabilize clients and assess their treatment needs. Clients benefit from constant monitoring as they rid their bodies of substances before transitioning to another level of care.

Their inpatient program offers a structured environment to live as clients complete treatment.
Clients may participate in evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy, relapse prevention training, addiction education, and peer support. Some services may be accessible through telehealth.

Clients can live at home while receiving outpatient treatment. Their outpatient program may offer similar therapeutic approaches at a lower intensity than their inpatient facility.

Texoma Medical Center – Behavioral Health Center accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurance carriers. They may work with HCSC, Kaiser Permanente, Anthem, Aetna, Beacon, Amerigroup, and more to partially cover treatment costs. The staff is good for most part ! The techs are on there phones way to much! The food is great! They didn't give me all my belongings and it took 4 trips to get it and all my Rx and 24 hrs. But it was a blessing for me to be able to go there for rest to get back to my former self!

Dont send your loved ones here. Because when it comes time for their discharge, nobody seems to know anything. They will tell you to your face one thing, then turn around and do another. I have been told something different by every person i have spoken to. If you call they will transfer you to a social worker who is supposed to have answers for you. But youll get a voicemail that apparently is not checked as far as i can tell. I have left message after message an have yet to receive a call back. They tell my wife that she can sign a 4 hour release letter but all that did was allow them to hold her for another 72 hours. They allow nurses to harass patients. My wife is blind. She was mistreated from day 1. The nurses who are supposed to help her get around just stand there and point in the direction of the toilet instead of guiding her. They do this all while screaming at her and telling her she is playing games with them and treating her like shes faking. Shes BLIND!!! Then They fill her full of meds that confuse her. So now shes a blind woman in an unfamiliar place confused, and being yelled at by nurses, and being held against her will. They lie to her and have har fill out s letter that she believes is going to help her release. But it only made her stay longer. This place is an absolute joke. On top of that before she came to this part of the hospital they had wheeled her into what amounts to a jail cell inside a hospital and pushed her into this cell and forgot about her. Brought her no food no drink for the better part of 24 hours while she waited on a bed to become available. This place is a place of lies. They say one thing but do not believe them. Cuz they are going do anything but what they told you.

Accepted Insurance

TMC Behavioral Health Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs offer high-level care for clients as an increased risk of relapse, including those in early recovery, those with a strong history of relapse, and those experiencing a crisis. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in nine to 20 hours of care weekly, with treatment modalities that combine psychotherapy and recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and animal therapy. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also common in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

24-hour clinical care in Texas provides a safe environment for medical detox. This setting is crucial to provide medical care during withdrawal. Certain withdrawal symptoms can cause life-threatening conditions, but patients in a supervised clinical setting have treatment readily available to address any symptoms before they become severe. Treatment can also be provided for co-occurring physical and mental health issues.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Ridding the body of harmful, addictive substances, also known as detoxification, is usually the first phase of recovery. Those going through medically assisted detox can be administered medications by a team of medical professionals who are on-site 24/7 to provide different types of therapies that help mitigate withdrawal symptoms.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Alcoholism occurs when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on alcohol. Attending a professional alcohol rehab in Texas can provide customized intervention methods to address the physical, mental, and relational challenges of addiction.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Substance abuse treatment is available in Texas for anyone who's struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. These programs usually provide a comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment plan, and include evidence-based treatments, like therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to reframe unhelpful coping strategies, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help with emotional regulation and stress.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
seniors-program thumbnail image

Seniors Program

Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

I wish some of the staff would just stop talking hateful to clients and maybe just stepped back and said ok I’m having a hard time today finding my feelings.Because we all know a time out here to recharge. Also let clients outside for a smoke break and let them have coffee because they get regular soda and tea that has caffeine in them but let clients enjoy their all day long because half of staff are playing games on their phones or the tablet

My stay is one of the worst experiences of my life. Not only did they not address my needs, but they actually exacerbated the issues which caused me to seek help in the first place. Following the response below, I went to the website and input my contact information and over a month has passed and I never heard from anyone.

I've been to BHC multiple times in the past this by far was the worst experience I have ever had. Donna the social worker on TCU unit is very rude, condescending and actually got caught in 2 lies, the nursing staff documents patients assessments, but never asks the patients the questions they are documenting answers on. The group therapy consists of tic tac toe, bingo, name that tune and listening to music. We had a 30 min breakfast, lunch and dinner and 2 group "therapies" so the rest of the 20 hrs out of the day i stayed in my room and not once did a staff member inquire on how I was doing. This place is honestly in need of closure. TCU stands for therapeutic care unit, but there is no therapeutic care or therapy going on at all, I was told by a nurse practitioner they do not offer therapeutic therapy they just stabilize. Once your stable and want discharged they make you see a judge. This place is nothing but a malpractice waiting to happen. The only 2 positive things i have to say about BHC is Dr. Abedi who is actually one of the few psych docs who cares and David from transportation and is also a tech needs so much more recognition than he probably gets, because he is caring, compassionate and willing to listen. BTW I gave 1 star because it wouldn't let me submit with them being blank. I would love it if someone would contact me with some authority who actually can and will take some action on the problems I addressed. I would like to add I posted this review over a month ago and I have yet to get a response from BHC!!

I was here a few weeks ago as involuntary. I got admitted on a Tuesday. Then got out on Tuesday 2 weeks ago. All the doctors are brand new and take time to listen and are active listeners. I can not express how much better it was this time around. I am still making progress on the outside. Thank you to all the staff
