The Prairie truly changed our family’s life. Nearly three years ago, my husband entered their program after multiple stays at other rehabs that never seemed to stick. From the start, it was clear that The Prairie is different—they genuinely care about getting to the root of the issues, involving families in the recovery process, and providing aftercare plans that support lasting, lifelong change. Blissful escape for a month if you take advantage of your surroundings and put in the work. Cottages are amazing, laundry is taken care of and food is great. They listen. Easy to forget you are in rehab. Tyler, one of the therapists, MAKES THIS PLACE WHAT IT IS. Worth it just for his sessions. (Also he is easy on the eyes). Only downfall in my opinion is the occasional gossip among staff within an earshot of clients in the lunchroom. Had a negative affect on the group for sure. The beauty and serenity of this place is wildly underutilized - instead of bingo, I suggest a counselor led hike or outdoor activity. Advice - hire PCA's who love it there and truly care (a few of them didn't). SHOUT OUT TO MERCEDES AND MELANIE!!!!!!!! love y'all. Hope I never have to go back to rehab but this would be my choice.

I’d like to thank The Prairie for setting my son up for success in his recovery. He was understandably nervous about going there for many reasons. However, those nerves were settled by the compassionate, welcoming staff that was there upon his arrival. His accommodations were very comfortable, especially the delicious food prepared by the five-star on-site chef. His counselor was empathetic to his struggles. She both listened to his story and offered practical suggestions on how to overcome his obstacles. He was able to participate in many fun activities, as well. This was vital to helping him realize that life is enjoyable without drugs or alcohol. The staff psychiatrist was knowledgeable and her family groups educated me on the physical, psychological, and spiritual components of addiction. I am forever thankful for the hope that The Prairie gave my son and my family.

I've gratefully been sober since being a patient at The Prairie in 2023, and I'm forever appreciative to the owners and staff for their wholistic approach to treatment, which was life changing for me. I didn't know therapy could work until my stay here -- the therapists were exceptional! General support has continued since treatment: The alumni coordinator remained in touch to keep patients connected, notifying us of the quarterly bonfires and other sober event and/or retreat opportunities. Also worth mentioning is that the meals were delicious (and they accommodate various dietary needs), the beds were super comfy, and the landscape and vistas were breathtaking and soul soothing -- literally some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets I've ever seen! They also have a few furry and feathered residents onsite -- always therapeutic to have those around! While my ongoing sobriety is a testament to the recovery actions I’ve committed to since leaving The Prairie, I wholeheartedly attribute the restoration of my sense of self and self-love to the incredible therapists and nurturing environment (including all nurse, kitchen, and support staff) at The Prairie. Forever grateful to you all!

The Prairie Recovery Center is unlike other facilities. Their comprehensive approach to healing the whole person (vs. "fixing") is evident through the many people I've seen enter and leave their program, able to maintain sobriety and live a healthy life in recovery. Love and compassion for their clients is foundational to their work across the board, from the facilities staff all the way to clinical and everyone in between. They offer exposure to a wide range of modalities and tools for recovery that help facilitate people finding the approach that works best for them.

Would recommend to anyone seeking help with addiction. The level of care I received in my 45 day stay was expansive and holistic. I learned more about my addiction and the underlying issues in order to live a life in recovery. The therapists, nurses, and all staff worked together to help me heal. I am immensely grateful for the care I received at the prairie, and continue to stay sober because of this magical place.
