About Amend Treatment
Amend Treatment is a residential treatment center in Malibu, California that treats adults of every age and gender for depression and PTSD as well as complex trauma. The center also treats substance use disorders and the program accepts six clients at a time.
Residents have private rooms with their own bathroom and a door onto a patio or deck. Care runs at two Malibu houses, Wildlife House and Portshead House, and Wildlife House sits a short walk from the Pacific Ocean.
EMDR Treatment for PTSD and Trauma
Cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy as well as EMDR for trauma processing are utilized during counseling sessions. EMDR, which stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, is used to help clients work through painful memories of traumatic events.
Amend adds body based work such as yoga, breath work and movement and a lead psychiatrist oversees the licensed therapists and counselors.
Amend takes out-of-network PPO plans only. Medicare and Medicaid, Kaiser, HMO and EPO plans are not accepted. Private pay options are available.
