Hello, I would just like to leave a positive review for the provider I see and let you know what a wonderful job she does! I have been a patient of Julie Thompson for about 2 years now at the Huntington WV location. Julie Thompson is absolutely top of the line when it comes to health care. I have never had a provider that is so genuinely invested in my health and overall well-being. She truly cares and treats patients from the heart. She does a wonderful job explaining diagnoses as well as any medications she may prescribe. She ensures that all of my questions are answered adequately before I leave the office. Her bedside manner and personality are the best in health care. She truly makes every one of her patients feel like family. I am blessed to have her as my primary care physician, and I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation! -C. Edwards

Abandoned by Provider — Dangerous and Unethical Care Warning…. Jeana Hensley, PA. Is a behavioral health provider here who has been completely unprofessional and unethical. I was a patient at OVP seeing a previous Provider, Christopher Eaton who was excellent then he left to go work elsewhere about a month or so ago… Jeana Hensley apparently has been assigned to take over his patients. I have been in the healthcare field as a practice consultant and medical ethic compliance for over 20 years. On my first appointment with Jeana Hensley, agreed to continue my treatment medications that I had been on over 15 years with no problems or issues and sent in a prescription for a 28 day supply. With instructions to call when a refill was due. 2 days before my prescription was to run out I called for a refill. I followed her instructions precisely. However, after I respectfully asked a clarifying question about a fill date restriction imposed by her on Day 27 of my prescription, she: Yelled at me and dismissed my concerns.she said I could not fill it for 2 more days after I was completely out of meds. Despite my pharmacist verifying that state law allows scripts to be filled two days prior to running out . I said okay and ended the phone call. Two days later I returned to the pharmacy to pick it up just as Jeanna said I could and my pharmacist informs me that Jeana called and cancelled the 2 prescriptions the day before because I “hung up on her”. She Cancelled the prescription without notifying me or your staff. I immediately called the clinic to get an explanation and was connected to Jeanna Hensley who started yelling at me and accused me of “hanging up on her “ 2 days priorand “being pushy.” Then she Abruptly terminated care without warning, discharge plan, or referral which is patient abandonment falling under medical malpractice. This is not just unprofessional—it is negligent and emotionally harmful. She is dangerous and ruining the reputation of OVP Health. and I now face a 2–3 month wait for another provider, with no access to the medication that I have been on for 15 years and enables me to function day to day. As a patient, I am entitled to: Respectful, non-retaliatory care. Jeana Hensley did the following: Patient abandonment – Terminating care without proper notice or transition plan, which is particularly dangerous for a patient dependent on stimulant medication. Unprofessional conduct – Yelling, accusing, and shaming a patient for respectfully asking a question. Retaliatory behavior – Cancelling a valid prescription simply because I questioned a fill-date. And ended the phone call after she Stated her refill date was firm. Failure to provide adequate medical communication – No notice or documentation of discharge or cancelled prescriptions. Negligent handling of a Schedule II controlled substance – Cancellation without medical justification or safety concern.. Please take my advice and do not risk dealings with this PA , Jeana Hensley. I will be filing all necessary complaints and legal action against her.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

After completion of treatment, the counselor will make referrals to community resources which include, but aren’t limited to Celebrate Recovery and other faith based initiatives, 12-step groups and other counseling services specializing in substance abuse services.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug addiction causes psychological and physical damage through repeated and uncontrollable use of substances. Drug rehab in West Virginia focuses on providing a full continuum of care, from detox to aftercare, and treatment can take place in outpatient or inpatient settings, based on your needs.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I do not want to rate them with a star, the service they have is very bad, they do not have a defined organization and the waiting times are very high.
