About Carolina Outpatient Detox

Carolina Outpatient Detox welcomes adults seeking recovery in Charlotte, North Carolina. You can access comprehensive outpatient withdrawal management services for various substance addictions, including alcohol, opioids, stimulants and kratom.

Their structured 21 day programs offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) and daily medical oversight from experts. They provide the flexibility to reach stabilization while maintaining other daily responsibilities. You can access a private and respectful atmosphere to focus on recovery.

A Dedication to Accessibility

A great feature I noticed was their convenient and accessible services. You can access same day admissions year round, including on weekends and holidays. They work with most major insurance plans and can work with your insurance company to authorize treatment for substances excluded from coverage.

Ongoing Support for Lasting Recovery

Their aftercare support services also stood out to me. They offer 12 Step meetings in the office and ongoing check-ins to keep you on track in recovery.

Most of their clients successfully transition to another level of care. You’ll benefit from support and guidance to continue on your journey and gain essential coping skills.

Warning — read before you sign or pay I checked into this facility on September 16, 2025 to get help and paid $2,500 up front for a 21-day program (total cost $5,000). Within 24 hours I gave written notice that I could not continue and asked what my options were. I ultimately stayed three days and discharged myself. I offered to pay for the three days of care I actually received, which I felt was fair to both sides. Instead, the facility refused to prorate or refund any portion of my $2,500 payment. They did waive the second $2,500 installment but kept the full first payment and are also billing my insurance for those same days. When I signed the contract, I was under the influence—something their own daily urine tests confirmed—so my ability to give informed financial consent is questionable. The clinical staff were caring and professional, but the billing and administrative team seemed focused on profit, not patients. I have asked management to resolve this fairly. They have not lifted a finger to make it right. , I plan to file formal complaints with the North Carolina Department of Justice (Consumer Protection Division), the NC Department of Health and Human Services / Division of Health Service Regulation, and the NC Department of Insurance regarding billing and refund practices. People come here vulnerable and seeking help. Patients deserve transparency and fairness—not financial harm while trying to recover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

A medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive drugs and alcohol from your body. A team of licensed medical professionals will look after you 24/7 to monitor your health, help minimize discomfort, and provide medications if necessary to alleviate any withdrawal symptoms. This process is typically the first step in your recovery and may take around 5-7 days, although length will depend on your individual needs.

Clients who are exiting detox or stepping down from intensive inpatient care typically transition directly into outpatient treatment. Outpatient programs are designed to allow clients to either re-enter or remain in their communities while receiving robust, personalized care. Many facilities offer evening, night, or weekend services to accommodate clients' home and work schedules. The most common outpatient treatment modalities include psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Treatments

Alcohol use disorder, commonly called alcoholism, involves an inability to control the amount or frequency you drink and feeling withdrawal symptoms when you don't drink. Treatment for alcohol addiction may involve residential or outpatient alcohol rehab in North Carolina, counseling, or 12-step programs. Typically, some form of professional treatment and support is necessary to achieve long-term recovery.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

North Carolina offers substance abuse treatment programs that provide a holistic and evidence-based approach. Through a comprehensive mental health assessment, addiction experts can provide an individualized care plan specific to your needs. You can expect most rehabs programs to provide individual and group therapy, recovery meetings, and evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Depending on your circumstances and severity of addiction, you may need more intensive care. Levels of care include outpatient, residential inpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization. By choosing the right level of care, you're more likely to succeed in long-term recovery.
