The Extra Mile is an extremely special place. The team is incredible and is supportive and works cohesively to provide care to every individual. They foster a sense of community and truly impact the lives of individuals on a personal level. I know some of the most amazing individuals both clients and staff alike who I have worked alongside through my journey at the mile and can say that each continue to impact my life on a daily basis in the most incredible ways. There’s a balance between structure and reflection to help individuals learn to have fun while being sober (this can be a scary and foreign thing to many in early recovery) while assisting in self-reflection and growth helping individuals connect through a combination of different treatment modalities tailoring to different learning styles too while also connecting to community, demonstrating what it means to have a support group, and offering time for exploration of self. Extra Mile Recovery is truly a special place. 💪🥰❤️

Accepted Insurance

Extra Mile Recovery – Drug & Alcohol Detox Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program approach recovery as a life-long process. Drug rehab aftercare encompasses myriad services designed to promote clients' continued sobriety as they reintegrate into their home, workplace, and community. Clients generally partner with their case managers and recovery team to define their recovery needs and goals and to identify and access the services they need to promote them. These often include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

If you or a loved one meets the following criteria, you may benefit from a sober living home in Mississippi: You don't have a strong support system at home; you've recently completed rehab; you've relapsed in the past; you suffer from a co-occurring mental health disorder. A men's or women's sober living home can provide the structured support you need to develop recovery skills and prepare for more independent living.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

For those seeking help with addiction, a drug rehab in Mississippi offers the necessary care to achieve long-term recovery. Options include inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and long-term drug rehab in Mississippi.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

While undergoing couples therapy, you'll explore any problems in your relationship with the goal of identifying and resolving dysfunctional patterns. You'll learn new and better ways to manage challenges so you can move forward with a healthier relationship.

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Creative arts therapy allows you to express the emotions you can't explain with words. You use an art form, such as dance, music, painting, or sculpting, to talk through and share your thoughts and feelings.

This place (THE GREAT VALUE INN) expects you to wash your own dishes in the kitchen. The cook has an extremely poor attitude., he walks around with a chip on his shoulder. The staff expects the clients to deep clean the cabins once a week while they sit on their phones, and vape or sleep. This place is run by ex convicts but have turned their life around, There is nothing wrong with cleaning up after yourself but being told that you have chores to do when you are paying the provider is not my type of rehabilitation . If you go for 30 days, they will pressure you to stay for 45 This is the worst rehab I’ve experienced. Search around for other places than here Tennessee has wonderful facilities Only come here if you receive a grant, don’t pay out of pocket or use your insurance You will regret it! I promise

Response from the owner
Doing various chores helps re-establish structure and routine. As far as pressuring to stay longer, it is always encouraged to stay and learn more to help secure your life of sobriety.
We hope you find somewhere with a better experience in the future. Thank you, Jason!

This place saved my life. I’m beyond grateful. The entire staff (counselors, chef, therapists, HR personnel) go above and beyond to give you all tools needed to stay clean and sober. Personally I’ve been clean almost 8 months and owe a huge debt of gratitude to Extra Mile Recovery. Location is amazing. There’s weight lifting, pickle ball, basketball, volleyball, fishing at the lake….plenty of things to do during your down time. Great place. Great staff. Great chef

Response from the owner
Shelby, your story is a powerful reminder of why we do this work. Congratulations on 8 months clean—that’s incredible! From detox to aftercare, we strive to give each person the tools and community they need to live sober and strong. We’re honored to have been part of your journey at Extra Mile Recovery and can’t wait to see all you continue to achieve.

The extra mile recovery is where God placed me to seek recovery. There’s no other explanation around it. It’s all free will, you either want to be sober or you don’t. There’s no other place I could find recovery. Believe me after attending 5-6 other rehabs I would relapse. The people, environment and structure at the extra mile is top notch. There will be drama as it would be anywhere else, the food will get complacent, people WILL get on your nerves, but if you truly want help and can put all worldly issues behind you and just take the time at the extra mile to soak in what they offer, I feel you can’t go wrong!!! Take my word, your life will continue to get better one day at a time when you accept the sober lifestyle and separate yourself from old friends and ways. Remember, misery loves company. You’ve got to get yourself together before you are any good to anyone else in your life.

Response from the owner
Billy, we’re so glad that you found the strength to embrace recovery at Extra Mile Recovery. Your honesty and commitment to the process are inspiring. We know it’s not easy, but as you said, true recovery comes when you focus on the right support and environment. We’re proud to be part of your journey, and we’re here for you every step of the way. Wishing you continued strength!
