This was the best hospital experience I have ever witnessed and I have witnessed and been a patient at many in both NY and CT. My husband went to the ER, was subsequently admitted, and had a procedure. The level of kindness, care, and attentiveness from the nursing staff and doctors was impeccable. They went above and beyond to ensure that my husband was comfortable, informed, and treated with dignity and respect.

I love the Hospital of Central Ct in New Britain. I love the staff friendly family atmosphere. My 87 year old father was transported from the Hospital for Special Care 3 times and each time the Hospital of Central CT gave my father excellent treatment and care getting him back to good. I wish this hospital had a rehab unit because I dread having my father go back to the hospital for special care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The scheduling dept for a sleep study is absolutely horrendous. Whoever is in charge of that department should be fired, immediately!!!

In my opinion TERRIBLE. I went there for chest pains-they told me i had WALKING PNUEMONIA then an hour later they said I DIDN"T HAVE IT !!! They took an xray of my chest and saw a small tiny lung nodule and tried to make a big deal of it-OH GROW UP-I went there for chest pains because the year before I had a heart attack and had a stent-AND I AM VERY SKINNY and watch my diet and excercize and they are doing chest xrays and telling me i had pnuemonia when I didn't!! forget this place it sucks. PLEASE GO TO ST. VINCENTS MEDICAL CENTER IN BRIDGEPORT in Fairfleld County where they have seasoned doctors that know what they are doing-believe me they don't up in this part of the state.
