About North Austin Foundation

The North Austin Foundation is located on Prairie Trail in Austin, Texas. They provide a sober environment for community support groups as well as access and referrals to area treatment facilities, for those struggling with co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorder.

They are located in a warehouse district of Austin with nearby access to restaurants, retail stores and local businesses. They are also close to I-35 for easy transportation to and from your support groups and treatment programs. Nearby are several natural landmarks you can visit including Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park, Walnut Creek Greenbelt and Pfluger Park.

Transition to Treatment Program

North Austin is a non-profit organization that offers a safe space for those recovering from addiction or seeking addiction treatment through their transition to treatment program. They are a substance-free and judgement-free environment that is available for peer support 24/7. They also offer shelter for those waiting to be admitted into a treatment program, who may be looking for a safe and supportive place to stay.

Daily Peer-Supported Recovery Meetings

They offer a minimum of four meetings everyday for those in recovery, but are always available to you for support no matter what time of day you may need it. I find it good to know that they also work with court-mandated programs for those who have been convicted for DUI/DWI offenses.

They offer education and access to community support groups for those in recovery. Additionally, they will refer you to inpatient treatment or acute care if you are in search of a treatment program to start living sober-free.

Project Helping Hand

I like that they also include their Project Helping Hand support space at this facility. They provide access to housing opportunities for those looking for affordable, safe and secure housing opportunities. This program also offers food pantry services to those experiencing food insecurities.

Additionally, they accept clothing donations to support those in need of gently used clothing and home goods who may be struggling financially.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

Treatments

Alcoholism occurs when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on alcohol. Attending a professional alcohol rehab in Texas can provide customized intervention methods to address the physical, mental, and relational challenges of addiction.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
