About Roaring Brook Recovery

At Roaring Brook Recovery in Lexington, Kentucky, you can receive outpatient addiction treatment services. They offer multiple levels of care, albeit in the outpatient category. These include their partial hospitalization program, which takes place five days a week for four hours a day. A step below this is their intensive outpatient program, which only expects you to commit 12 hours a week to therapy. This is better for those with less severe cases of addiction and for those who have many obligations and responsibilities to meet outside of therapy. Once you’re through receiving treatment at these levels, they even offer an aftercare program to help you stay on the right path and keep from relapsing.

If you’re just starting out, you may need to detox before even joining one of their outpatient programs. Luckily, this clinic offers medication assisted treatment (MAT), which is exactly what it sounds like. You’d be assessed and given medication that can help you struggle less during the detox process. With medications such as Vivitrol and Suboxone, you can help lessen the severity of your withdrawal symptoms and make the whole process much more comfortable and safe for yourself.

Some of the modalities of treatment at this clinic include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, experiential therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, neurofeedback therapy and trauma therapy. Their experiential therapy includes things like art therapy and music therapy. They also have some holistic options through their yoga classes, meditation courses and mindfulness practices. You can also receive some important therapy sessions through their individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy options.

I’m so thankful for Roaring Brook and for the opportunity to complete their IOP program. The support I received from everyone there was exceptional. The therapists who led the classes were knowledgeable, understanding, and compassionate. They helped me work through my addiction and provided me with the guidance and tools I needed to move forward in a positive direction. My individual therapy sessions have also been incredibly valuable. They helped me work through previous trauma and address issues I had not dealt with before. Even after graduating from the program, I still attend sessions and continue to benefit from the work we do together. The case management and peer support were fantastic as well. They helped me navigate legal issues, insurance, and provided continuous support throughout my recovery. The sober living program they provided was exceptional and greatly appreciated. Having that safe and supportive environment was an important part of my experience. Overall, my time at Roaring Brook was extremely productive. I was held accountable while also being supported every step of the way. I graduated knowing that I had a strong support network behind me and the confidence to continue moving forward. I would highly recommend Roaring Brook to anyone who needs support in recovery. They are thorough, compassionate, and dedicated to helping people succeed. I left the program feeling educated, empowered, and armed with the tools I need to keep moving forward.

I am forever grateful for Roaring Brook. At 64 and with a drinking career that spanned nearly 50 years I'd had enough. I thought thatI could clean up my at on my own, I was wrong, so I surrendered to the reality that I needed help. I entered myself into the IOP program, the willingness to do so has changed my life in ways I could have never imagined. The team received me with open and open hearts. The nurturing environment made learning about addiction and myself a life changing experience. I gained tools to live a healthy lifestyle for a lifetime. I'm now 65 and my best years lie ahead. It's never too late

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Inpatient rehab is designed primarily for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those in crisis situations that may increase their risk of relapse. Clients reside at the inpatient treatment center for the length of the program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Inpatient treatment typically includes 24-hour clinical care and extensive addiction counseling and recovery education using CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing or other psychotherapeutic approaches.

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) specialize in high-level care for clients requiring robust support. This includes those in early recovery, those in crisis, and those stepping down from inpatient care. Clients typically participate in a minimum of nine treatment hours per week, but many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 hours of service weekly. Their primary treatment modalities generally combine psychotherapy and recovery education. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol and/or opioid recovery is widely available.

Rehab aftercare programs ensure clients' access to continuing care after the completion of intensive inpatient treatment. Outpatient care is often considered a component of drug rehab aftercare, but most clients continue to receive support services after being discharged from formal treatment. Service portfolios are customized to clients' unique and evolving needs and are often designed in collaboration with clients' case managers and care teams. Peer coaching, career counseling, relapse prevention, and 12 step program induction are standard.

A sober living home in Kentucky offers many benefits to those in recovery. These drug-free environments allow individuals to distance themselves from situations that would prompt triggers and lead to relapse. Men's and women's sober living also offers 12-step programs, counseling, job placement services, and long-term residence after treatment. During their stay, residents are required to abstain from alcohol and drug use, pay rent, and contribute to household responsibilities.

Often beneficial for individuals who don't require 24-hour supervision, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) can be an alternative to inpatient rehab or a transitional option. PHP treatment typically involves 6 to 8 hours of treatment per day, up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. PHP treatment often includes relapse prevention strategies, medication management, and other behavioral therapy interventions. While the cost of a partial hospitalization program can vary, it is often covered by insurance.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Kentucky involves learning to recognize unhealthy thinking patterns and developing problem solving skills to cope with life's challenges. It will help you have greater confidence in your abilities so you can change your patterns of behavior and break free from substance abuse.

Typically, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) in Kentucky involves four types of therapy sessions. You'll participate in a pre assessment, skills training in groups, individual therapy, and telephone crisis coaching. The goal is to improve your skills for coping with daily emotions and life challenges.

Men and women in Kentucky participating in group therapy learn to express their feelings and struggles with drug addiction in a non judgmental atmosphere. Your peers can offer you empathy and encouragement because they understand your journey to recovery. This fosters a sense of community and belonging that may extend far after group therapy sessions.

In individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction, the therapist and patient work together to address the challenges and triggers that drive addictive behavior. This offers a customized approach to a healthier, substance free life.

Several techniques are key to motivational interviewing in Kentucky. Your therapist will use open ended questions, affirm your strengths, reflect your responses back to you, and summarize your responses. This allows you to identify any discrepancies in your current situation and your future goals, which can motivate you to make changes.

Trauma therapy provides you with a safe space to work through a trauma that you witnessed or experienced. Trauma informed therapy supports you to understand your emotional and physical responses and develop healthier coping mechanisms when exposed to triggers in the community. This improves your sense of self confidence and empowerment.

As you begin couples therapy in Kentucky, you'll outline the goals for therapy. Your therapist will then arrange to meet with you in weekly joint sessions and, in some cases, individual sessions. You'll receive homework assignments to practice each week between sessions that will help you reach your goals.

Family therapy provides families with a structured environment to address the complexities of addiction. You work with an experienced therapist to develop effective strategies for supporting your loved one's recovery while focusing on the well being of each member of the family unit.
